Top Load Washer vs Front Load Washer 

The old school washers that weren't energy saving were much better

My Wascator built in 1971 (Company now called Electrolux Professional) has had daily loads every day and works perfectly. Some repairs but still gets the job done!

I’ve got a speedqueen front and top load, both commercial ones. They both have there place. Front load for normal everyday washing. Top load for heavy soiled jeans and anything that almost needs to be sprayed of with a garden hose 😂. But using the top load everyday takes way to much salt for my softener. Front load uses so little water it’s not a issue.

The best washer will always be the SpeedQueen

The real response should be how you feel about having to wipe the door seal every time you use it and do you mind the smell of mildew.

If you're on a well you don't care about water usage. The top loaders don't have door gaskets that mold.

Can i wash just one cloth in a top loader? or do i have to fill the water to at least half to avoid spoiling the machine?

From the factory the front load washers use such little water that it doesn't get all of the clothes wet enough so the detergent doesn't work properly. Had to increase water levels after the third load test

Front load washing is just good for aesthetic and nothing else. Very problematic to deal when there is an issue. Lot of water leakage once seal gets old. Need professional help every couple of years. Top loading is best for long run. Minimum 10 years top load vs Max 5 years for front load. Specially in family bigger than 2 people with kids. Front load are for the people who feel superiority in buying tech which is cumbersome to use but wants to show off.

My sister has an LG from 2015 and it still works today. Never had to be repaired.
