Thank you! It has been a lot of fun...slow but fun. I am still trying to figure out how to bets support people in their writing. I hope your writing has been going well!
Informative video. I recently moved to a Mac and found out sadly that Trelby is not available on Mac OS. I intend on buying Final Draft on Black friday 🤣
Hi Paul - thank you for your informative videos. I want to ask your advice about editing a PDF screenplay created in Final Draft. I need to make some minor edits to a script that has received some interest. I no longer have Final Draft. I am considering Fade In (based on your excellent tutorial). I am curious as to if there are any compatibility or formatting issues I need to consider. Is there another software that would work for minor revisions? Would Studio Binder handle minor revisions? Adobe Acrobat? Thank you for your response.
Thank you for the feedback. Yup I have to get a better mic. I am glad you found the information helpful. I will you well in your screenwriting endeavors!
hi man, thanks very much for this. very comprehensive video with a good listing of most of the best options, out there. have you come across CampFire ? i recently bumped into it, and i really think it to being one of the best, as an ecosystem of options and aesthetically pleasing features and UI. I’d really appreciate it, if you gave me your two cents on it. thanks very much, once again. cheers from Portugal
Can anyone tell me the name of the very simple site that was created by like one dude for open source screenwriting? It was rad and I can't remember the name or find it anywhere
GREAT VIDEO! I heard you mentioning that you're more of a visual writer. I'm the same way. Is there a software (other than celtx) where you can format a script and add images to coincides with the storyline for the reader.
Fade In, which funny enough I just did a video for. In Final Draft you can add the image to the beat board. I haven't tried yet to add an image to the script itself. Take a look at this video and see if this might also be something you want to look at. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r4FTYOC5lTE.html
Hello, are there any script writing softwares that help guide you with action words to use? I'm just looking to have fun with it. Need a software that could fill in the blanks for me. Just a little. Are there any out there ?
So you are looking for a piece of software that can jazz up the words that u use? Or sort of fill in the gaps of your thought process? I just want make sure I am understanding your question correctly. Or are u looking for a program that helps take your idea and turn into a plot?
Arc Studio Pro is beautiful looking. Almost everything else is super ugly. Which isn’t the MOST important, but that + real time collaboration makes it a winner for me.
I will take a look at Arc Studio in more detail in an upcoming video. I am always happy when people find software that helps with their work process. Thanks for the Comment!
I would pick Fade In myself as I don't think there has been a update for Trelby for a little while...I think 2012 was there last update. With that being said, Trelby works fine and if that is what you need to make your work process work then I would get it. Is there a particular reason you were looking at Trelby versus other software. If it is the cost I could probably point you to some other free versions that might work better. Fade In has a free version which I use which is just great.
@@ScreenwritingScribe I've done some short film writing but I'm going to be writing full length screenplays and I have the free version of Fade in but didn't know if I was to start writing in it then paid for it later would my work still be there once I paid for the full version??.. I've used trelby years ago for my shorts but didn't know if it be good for doing serious writing projects
@@garyleeheard3434 what you could do is write one of your old short screenplays in Fade In. See if u like it or not. If u do i would just have u buy it before the project. It is pretty inexpensive on the grand scheme of things. Just my 2 cents. Always happy to answer any more questions!
At this time it is not. Fade in (available for purchase) is compatible. I would suggest Kit Scenarist as it is a powerful free software. Trelby is another option. I hope that helps!
You can use scrivener (full version) on your phone and Final Draft (though you need the desktop program to access all the features.) I did have another video about apps that might be helpful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G4YwjTKVJEs.html I hope that helps.
I took a look at iA Writer. Here are the pros (1) really focused on eliminating the clutter of your typical word editor. (2) is very versatile in that you can use it for a lot of different types of writing. (3) Has access to a lot of different of boarding services like iCloud and dropbox. (4) It is available for android. (5) They do keep it upgraded. The cons (1) Price at least for the iPad version. You can get scrivener for about half of the price (19.99) which I think is a more powerful writing app but it is more complicated than iA Writer. (2) You have to write your screenplay in fountain syntax (which is easy enough to learn but then you have to worry about the formatting) (3) Not a lot of helpful tools to help edit your writing. (4) No helpful brainstorming functions. Would I buy it? No. I prefer scrivener or final draft but I just write screenplays. I like all the extras that these programs give. However, if I needed an app that just helped me hone in on writing, I would give this one a look. I hope that helps.
@@ScreenwritingScribe yes it does, I really appreciate you taking the time to look at it. I have iA Writer for Mac and Android but Scrivener looks nice as it has that "cork board" feature. I just hate the thought of purchasing Another writing app ya know.
@@mr_red13 I understand where you are coming from. Have you thought about trying out Kit Scenarist. It is a free screenwriting program that does a lot of the same things that scrivener does. I do actually a have a video of it on my channel. I don't remember off the top of my head whether it is just a desktop version only and not mobile.
I am going to be making a video in the next couple of weeks about it. From what I remember Writer's duet is for writers who are working as a team or are working with somebody else on the script. Are there certain features you are looking for? I can help point you to some ones, if you are more a solo type writer. I hope that helps!
@@ScreenwritingScribe I used to use faid in mobile basic before ..When pdf was taken there was no gap between the letters and the edge of the page. Also there was no page break option. So I came to know about the writer duet app when I researched other screenwriting apps. One thing I need to know about this app is because. Can other people hack the content we create in this app?
@@Jishnubalan-uq5ev I don't believe so. Are you looking for more of a mobile app versus a desktop one? Fade in mobile is pretty bad in terms of mobile products. Have you looked at scrivener, which has a mobile product for $19.99 and is a far superior product than Fade in.
@@ScreenwritingScribe sir now I am using mobile..Now I prefer comfort and friendly using mobile screen writing app. Sir how is faid in use in desktop or laptop ??
I have not tried that one yet but I think if you like Celtx, you might like Studiobinder which is free version but probably not as many bells and whistles.
