When the current news get me down. Mostly political news. I usually turn to movies like these that gets me feeling fine again. Something like tongue and cheek movies that just simply hit the spot.
I kind of do the same to calm me down .. I get mad listening to the catfishing and treating the people like there ignorant and believe the obvious lies coming out of the Biden administration.
This movie is clearly a western version remake of "Gunga Din", the old Cary Grant black and white version based upon the Rudyard Kipling poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade. This is okay, but the original is much better.
Yep, my father and grandfather are in this as extras playing soldiers. The little Outpost that was attacked at the beginning is the movie set in Johnson Canyon, just a few miles away from where I went to high school.

I never expected Khan to kill the singing wire in the first scene. Edit, oh my, I see Sammy Davis Jr. Dancing on the bar, then I realized that it is a ratpack western. The appearance of Joey Bishop soon confirmed this. How could I be this old and have never seen this movie?
Frank had a falling out with Peter Lawford over getting President Kennedy to stay at his Palm Springs home on vacation. It fell out because of Robert Kennedy, then Attorney General who advised John not to stay at Frank’s home due to his rumored connections to the Mob. He stayed instead at Bing Crosby’s home.
Love old school Western movies, they do not make them like this nowadays, maybe Cinemascope vs. digital camera is the difference? Anyway, Frankie Blue Eyes, Dino, Sammy Davis Jr, Peter Lawford, sit back and relax.
@@ferengiprofiteer9145 Thanks for the reply. No, it's a different small town in Ga. But I had a similar experience with our Ritz theater. I was 10 in 1964.
I saw this at the theater when I was a kid. My husband and I were in Moab a number of years ago and drove up a side road where there were some of the old movie props and buildings. Fantastic!!😉
I love watching Western movies never get tired and enriched my knowledge what’s happening between the native red Indians and US soldiers! Australia have our natives which is the Aborigines but they dnt kill burnt houses and abused women ! Our Aborigines are very good even though they have suffered under the British Australian ! 🇦🇺
@@JesusIsAlphaOmega001 Actually Lawford betrayed Sinatra so really not petty. It has to do with President J.F. Kennedy. Look up the story on the internet. A lot happened. Also, amen, Jesus is Lord. 🙏❤

A mi me encanta la historia. Del siglo 17 para atras. No soporto nada despues de 1945. Mejor los horrores de La Guerra de los Treinta Annos que Corea o Vietnam.
I grew up on Westerns and used to go every Saturday morning to the cinema for a shilling. The lassy film would get me crying then the main feature a good western would leave me riding my horse all the way back home trying to get away from those varmit injuns. Not got much time left now but started to watch a few westerns again as what these idiots are doing to my country is so sad to watch, just lost my heating allowance I was hoping would help me this winter. I want to be 6 again riding that horse back home. Thanks for the film.
This western reminds me of another movie that came out about 3 British soldiers in India called Gunga Din, anybody else see the similarities but just a different era
Gunga Deen was an Indian villager who served in the British Army in the 1890's period. He was a "Water Carrier" fetching water for the troops who were in trenches and elsewhere in action. during World War I in 1914-1918 he came into prominence for his acts of courage..."beyond the call of duty". A real life Character, simple village stock. His extraordinary display of loyalty, courage earned him great respect....and an English poem dedicated to him by Rudyard Kipling. A Soldier who inspired two nations and generations of admirers, i do know of the film "Gunga Din"...and this movie "Sargeants Three" with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Victor Maclaglen is a copy of the theme of the 1939 movie. Don't know who played "Gunga Din"... but here it is Sammy Davis Jr 1939
They just changed a few things along the way, Dakota Territory USA for Punjab, India; US Army for British Colonial Command India, and the Ghost Dancers for the Thugee cult. Neither movie really explained what happened to the villagers attacked in the opening sequence.
@@stephenater9687 Thanks for the info BTW you may like to Google/check Wiki pedia for another outstanding example of 'courage in the face of the enemy'..... Rifleman Jaswant Singh in 1962,single hand combat in a trench, fought off Chinese soldiers for three days ..alone , scurrying and firing from different locations within the trench labyrinth to make appear that the trench had more troops than this one single brave heart. Sergeants 3 is a 1962 American comedy/Western film directed by John Sturges and starring Rat Pack icons Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop.
I have loved this western from the first moment I saw it in the 60’s. Yes it’s a remake ‘nearly’ of Gunga Din but it’s still a fun and enjoyable romp. Sinatra is good but Dean steals the film. Frank produced this film the only one he would ever commit funds to. There’s a lot of action sequences and, in a buggy fight, Frank did most of his own stunts against the wishes of John Sturgess the Director. John couldn’t argue with his boss - Sinatra.!!…$$…. Anyway thoroughly recommend. Thank you 🥰🇺🇸🇦🇺
Physically imposing and athletically gifted men of incredible strength and raw acting talent. such as Sammy Davis Junior and Frank Sinatra were easy selections to play hardened US soldiers of the old West
Still.puts The Natives down Land grabbers from Washington Stole Murdered Raped. ..took land of All Natives throughout Americas . Put Mexico in a War it couldn't win thus Taking more Lands. ..
Why did Frank always fallout with his friends from the Ratpack? Was it because he wanted to be in charge of everyone? Tell me if anybody has the answer.
Beverley I’m not sure what you mean. Frank was the boss of the ‘rat pack’ and wouldn’t take none-sense from the others but he was extremely loyal to them all.
Elvis was a gifted understudy of Edith Head, the greatest costume designer of all time. He was nominated for an Oscar for his 'risque' work on The Night Porter.
SImple curiosity : does anyone know why they carry their revolvers on the right hand side (foor the right-handed of course) with the handle turned forward?
They went to that town with a big army, but the only one to fight is these 3 idiots only. What happened with the rest of the soldiers??? SO.........STUPID!!
