This is the first of 8 state highpoints my family and I would top on a South Eastern roadtrip we did in June of 2022. Woodall Mountain is an easy drive up state highpoint to the top of Mississippi. At 806 feet, it is the 47th highest state highpoint.

Looks like a great family road trip. We just returned from a two week road trip to Yosemite and back. The road to Glacier Point was closed this year so we hiked to Wapoma Falls at Hetch Hetchy. It was awesome. Went sand dune sledding at White Sands on the way back.

Man that sounds like a great trip! I would love to visit Yosemite but the crowds and being in California have kept me away. Although, I really didn't think crowds were bad at all at GSMNP (except for maybe at a Visitor's Center during the day). We did drive through Gatlinburg but I couldn't bring myself to stop because there were SO MANY PEOPLE. How were the crowds out there for yall? The sledding at White Sands sounds great too. I really want to take my family out there.

@@CameronHall88 Yosemite is crowded. We were there on Memorial Day weekend and it was crazy. By the following Tuesday it had calmed down and it wasn't so bad. It takes a lot of advance planning for a trip to Yosemite. We camped near Groveland (Stanislaus National Forest) the first three days and made day trips to Yosemite Valley. We camped the last two days at Upper Pines under Half Dome and it was worth it. Next time we return I hope to backpack from a trail head along the road to Tioga Pass and then backpack down to Yosemite Valley. As for White Sands we stayed in an AirBnB rental in Cloudcroft as the Lincoln National Forest was shutdown due to fire risk. We only spent about two hours at White Sands. It doesn't take long to wear the kids out since there are no chair lifts to get back up to the top of the sand dunes and the heat gets to bad by noon. We camped the last night at Davis Mountains SP on the way home.

Florida's is even easier at only 345' and makes you appreciate the mountains of west texas, God bless your arkansas travels.

We also visited Britton Hill on this trip. Not much elevation there for sure! But the short trails the county has at the park were pretty nice. Definitely way different than West Texas.

One thing I hate about eastern HPs is that they are so easy to get to, and I'm always realizing how easily I could have tagged them on some past road trip if I had just been thinking about it, haha. Look forward to seeing the others!

We ended up with 8 highpoints on this trip and none of the hikes were more than a mile. You obviously can hike farther to certain ones but it worked good for us with young kids. That's one reason I targeted that section of the country for highpoints. One thing I really enjoy about highpointing is the drive/trip to get here. I think I enjoy that almost as much as making it to the actual summit. It's neat getting to places that you normally would have never driven to. I'm sure you get to some of that heading to NM peaks.

47th ! hahaha not exactly the tall one.. very cool though thanks for showing us... didnt you go to like Iowa and Kansas as well awhile back? eventually you'll have to hit some taller ones hahah....

We have all done Kansas together. And we did 8 total highpoints on this trip. Some 6000 foot peaks. But all of the highpoints in the South East are pretty easy to access. I think they're ready for some bigger hikes up a couple little more challenging highpoints.

@@hikingwithjackieboy my wife and I have done Elbert in Colorado. I think it's 14,444. Or something close to that. It's the 3rd highest state highpoint behind Alaska and California.
