Honestly the "it's not moving, the background is" kind of optical illusions seem very lazy to me. There's no real mind blowing realization there and it doesn't take that much thinking to do either. Ps. the first picture still looked angled to me after adding the red lines

It looked angled because the horizon lines WERE angled, but the bottom of the pictures technically weren't, which is kinda dumb. They even said the horizon line in the picture is at an angle and the pictures are resized, so they MADE a crooked line and then said every other one is straight because the bottom of the picture line up

the mothra and godzilla illusion doesn't make much sense. the reason we thought it switched is because the screen starts to move in the same direction as mothra is oriented. sure, the video may be centered on godzilla, but in this case, godzilla is indeed chasing mothra as we saw it.

The blue/red dot isn't an illusion, it's more of a riddle. It's akin to saying that if a helicopter is following a car that's being chased by a cop on the highway and the helicopter maintains position immediately over the car at all times, then neither the car nor the helicopter are moving, but the planet is instead. It just doesn't follow.

BRE XD it is. I bet a million bucks that Jordan is writing all the jokes, because he’s an actual comedian. But the thing about it is that jokes don’t make the comedian, the comedian makes the jokes. The jokes would be funny if Jordan makes them because how he delivers them. He’s just a goofy dude and that’s why they’re funny. But Rhett and Link aren’t funny when they tell jokes that are given them for them to tell. Their Improv is funny. And that’s why ‘will it’ and the food guessing episodes are funny because it’s all genuine funny reactions from them. Just a thought.

The snake one was an outright lie if you watch it frame by frame. The shit is literally moving different directions. Doesn't matter what color it is. Track any one segment frame by frame, when it changes color it starts moving the opposite direction

Yeah, it did. They usually have some scripted jokes mixed in with their own improv humor but this felt almost as if they weren't prepared for the scripted stuff and were surprised by it. Must've just been an off day.

I feel like they were just really bored and unexcited about the content, and weren't able to put their usual excitement and spin on things. They always have scripted parts, but usually they play with them and make them better, but let's be real, it's 2018, we've all seen a thousand variations of these optical illusions. My first GMM episode was "10 Best Optical Illusions of 2014." I hadn't discovered the glory that was Rhett and Link yet, and I found that video, watched it... and didn't pick up GMM again for another couple of years until at the end of one school year the girl next to me was freaking out that someone had put the GMM logo as the picture next to their yearbook photo. The last one was really cool. I'm not sure I'd even call a couple of these optical illusions though. Such as the red and blue dot one and the fairy tale one. I don't get how they were a trick or an illusion in any way. Btw, if you haven't seen GMMs other optical illusion episodes then go check them out. They are WAY better than this one

Technically, either Godzilla and Mothra WERE both chasing each other (if we look at the map as part of the scene), or neither was chasing the other (if we look at the map as an unrelated background image). If the map is supposed to be part of the same reality as the dots in the narrative, then they both traversed across the map. If the map isn't supposed to be part of their reality, then one dot didn't move and the other just circled around it (not chasing). It's kinda weirdly framed to suggest the intended result lol.
