We don't usually film prelim battles, let alone all 4 hours with more than 180+ crews. This video was just uploaded as an added bonus. Our top sets usually come from the official Top 16 battles that come after, so hopefully someone like you is grateful enough even for this footage, which I stayed up until 5 am compiling. - Daniel
Francois, stop complaining. Strifetv does not have the responsibility to upload quality footage. They're an independent group that decided to show more of the bboy community to us, the people who are not living in the US or decided not to go to the jams. The work they put in, they do it for free. So thank you very much Strifetv for providing footage. Outbreak is one of my favorite jams. Keep doing what you do. Oh and if you haven't noticed; the description says "Our favorite".
yo strife.tv, thanks for the vids man!! im very thankful for all the contributions you are doing for the community so young and always improving. Keep up the good work and maybe ill be able to make it to a jam this high!
Hi Eugene. Any Top Sets video is based purely on opinions. In this instance, it's my opinion. It pretty crazy to expect me to film all 4 hours of prelim footage, so I had to be selective. I also could only film one of the prelim circles because there wasn't two of me. Overall, the response of my Top Sets series has been quite positive and I think our audience appreciates it. Of course there were other dope dancers, but then again, this list has always been my opinion. - Daniel
also, I usually don't film prelims. this video was just an added bonus. But for the Top 16 and other official battles, we film everything. It's torture for me to film all 4 hours of prelim battles, lol.
Props for getting this up so quickly. The format of the showcases was weird but I can't imagine sitting through 4 hours of prelims. First crew was Illusion of Exist, I was surprised to see Funt from Powermove Conspiracy out here, though it was dope! Japan came deep, they had over 10 pairs in the prelims
Feel free to come talk with me over prelim footage. 90% of the dancers in this compilation made it past prelims. The other 10%? That's just my opinion in choosing. Peace.
The people complaining do realize that is says "our favorite sets " in the description right? We're getting all this footage for free and people are still complaining..
This jam was super dope. I was actually trippin on so much style in one spot. Even the youngsters wowed the shit out of me. Strife did a good job filming and I'm sure this isn't the only video being put together so don't get offended if your footage isn't on this video.
it's true.but as with any industry, these are the realities of our world, you notice more who you know than who you don't. Look at the music industry, you think there aren't way more talented people than what is on the radio? it takes more than skill unfortunately, and you can't depend on others to do it for you, you must do it yourself. Make and take your own videos, rep at the jams, bring yourself up, and people will take notice. It's how all those "famous" crews did it, others gotta do it too
lol had a feelling cats would be upset that they wouldnt get footage but at the same time im not suprised all they showed were crews that already have a big name and it kinda shows because the some of the rounds shown on here werent better than some of the no named crews. I competed but i really kinda already knew how the top 16 would get picked because I really didnt expect 2 judges to remember someone they most likely never heard of no matter how hard i went down among 180+ crews. dope jam tho
it can be a double edged sword. With a "big name" crew you can be held more to scrutiny than a no name crew that just destroys it. But i'm sure this Top Set is from subjective opinion just like a lot of bboying. So chill and people can see those not so big name people kill it on the Outbreak DVD
I saw Daniel put down his camera as soon as me and my partner came up. I'm not saying my prelim round was dope or my round deserved to be anywhere. I'm wondering why is this called the "Top Prelim Sets" if they didn't record all the prelim rounds. I agree, there were too many people who weren't caught on camera, and I'm not going to blame anyone for that. But I do want to say that this title misrepresents the prelims of Outbreak. There were a lot of dope cats who weren't shown or recorded.
what are you being so negative towards strife for? they put alot of hard work into all of there videos and are well appreciated by the bboy community. They can title the video as they choose, and any top sets video whether its Strife or another film channel is going to be purely opinionated. Yea they didnt film it all, but like they stated up there, its hard to film all 4 hours of prelim footage. They already work so hard for what they provide, there's no need to make it harder on them.
Obviously anyone will get shit by posting stuff on OPINION, its human nature we dont all think the same. But Strife does need to address the complaints because it helps improve the organization. If those who complain are thrown into the corner then only the dickriders will stay and others will unsuscribe or stop watching strife. Thats not an accepting enviorment. I love strife, I really do, but asking everyone to just shut up and be grateful isnt how things really work.
So you complain about them not being showcased by strife instead of posting the footage yourself? Strifetv is just a group of people who like posting footage they like. If you dont like it, post your own footage. You cant expect someone else to post footage you like. Its their channel, their time, their resources, and their opinion. Dont like it? Use your own channel, time, and resources and post footage you like.
why you all mad dude? Its good bboy footage, quit hatin lol.. The strife crew is pumping out videos on youtube... and youre getting mad at them on youtube.. and youre calling them out on youtube.. haha COME ON MAN!!... -.-
Sooo apparently bboying is all about fame and getting noticed now? I understand that Bboys/Bgirls want to be recognized but yo, have fun. This video is all opinionated too.
Yo, instead of calling this top sets of the prelims you should call it the biggest names you decided to publish. Im not taking away from the people that killed it, but you only decided the show the big names and more than half the videos you publicized were at 1 of the cyphers. for those of you who arent at outbreak there were so many crews that entered that they had to have 2 prelim cyphers...and theyre were WAY more crews that killed it that wont get the chance to get noticed.
You should be enjoying the jam rather than surfing the net to see if your(or any) prelim round made the cut. You should be soaking it all in and loving the culture around you, vibing out and meeting dope bboys/bgirls from around the world rather than complaining online. Then, directly after that you should be hitting the books and polishing up your terrible grammar. A bunch of "niggas" does not a bboy make. Peace
