I loved this interview, Geoff. I think I mentioned it before, but the driveway rebuild is what hooked me on Chris's channel. Then I got hooked on yours. Thanks for 3 years of fine entertainment. (I miss the deer!😉)
Great interview! I think Chris is down to earth and doesn't beat around the bush when asked questions. His business has come a long way since he went out on his own. And the Bealy Good property has changed dramatically since getting the clearing done. Keep the videos coming and soon we can enjoy more progress on the house. Cheers
Good interview. Chris is a matter of fact guy, good natured with a wicked sense of humor. But when working he is like a laser beam. Focused, disciplined and 10 steps mentally ahead. I remember the original interview. Thanks for the re-do.
Omg, that was great to see again. Helps to remember where he came from doing side jobs while working for his uncle and the beginning of his fleet. He just finished up Brian's job on the dam rebuilds and seeing all that new machinery and what it takes to do a major job is amazing. That said he is one hard worker and does.not cut corners so anyone is lucky to get him on their job site. Then there is your channel and the amazing amount of transformation you have done to that property although it was not mentioned much in this interview. That trail through the woods to a clearing out back sure did get run over by the pond and house lots and so much more. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I love this interview with Chris. If you interviewed him today. With all his new equipment and prices and 4x higher. I'd hate to have his expenses and upkeep. It's no wonder why Chris is working 6-7 days a week just to keep up. I'm sure people think he has time to kick his feet up and watch a game. But between working and the farm, Chris is lucky to have time to sleep. Great interview, Bealey Good.
Yeah people don't realize what stuff costs. I'm an owner operator truck driver and peoplesay I make so much money. Well I have to to pay for everything. A new truck 4 years ago was 155k. Oil changes are 500, just put 4k in tires on my truck last week and I'm on track to spend 65k in diesel this year. And thats not including buying a trailer then slowly rebuilding it. Owning your own business isn't cheap.
really nice interview, Chris is so matter of fact about the logistics of his business. I've watched so many of his videos and one of the things I've often thought of is the cost of moving a machine the size of the 350 for instance.
I really enjoy your videos. As a retired single man excavating company I can agree with everything you and Chris covered. And I only had five pieces of equipment. Thank you.
The mashed potatoes thing was really good 😂 Yep there probably wouldn't be a lot of laying on the couch money in Chris's business. It's all spent like the money that flows through farms and gone again. It's impressive what gets accomplished and without a lot of drama though! All the best to you both ❤
🤔I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, with all the meticulous attention to keeping all his equipment clean, " to each their own" but is there a camera shy Mrs letsdig18 and little diggers running around that massive farm? ☝🏻😉Makes no difference, but I was Just Curious. I came to your channel from the first tree being dropped watching Chris's channel for years now, can't wait to see your finish house project finalized. Nobody ever asked him that question in all the interviews I seen with him. The man is unquestionably a master of his skills and abilities to operate his equipment artfully reshaping the ground he works on, that's for sure. His detail to perfection is astounding!
Great interview, people don't realize how expensive that equipment is, extremely expensive is the answer, over head is still expensive for Chris even if it's just him, an he doesn't abuse his equipment, he takes care of it
I have a question. Is Chris married. It's never talked about and I'm sure he likes his privacy. As a former heavy equipment operator, I am enjoying watching his videos. Every time he's in the excavator, I feel like I'm there running as well.
The best questions are the stupid questions! "Where does the white go when the snow melts?" and "How can you reach a MILEstone while using METRIC measurements?" are the best ones so far! We think the white from snow moves to the inside of your windshield.
He forgot to add that the price of the filters has gone up, oil went up, and the small details can cost thousands. In every job the price of under carriage is figured in. That way, by the time it is needed, the money is available. Equipment will make you money. It can cost you also.
Mr Bealy Good - Sir…. has it been that long since you originally recorded that? And Chris still doesn’t talk about money or his family - a man of principles to say the least. Hoping that you are safe and well! Still rather worried about your situation and health. Take care my friend.
That was a good interview. Mr.Bealy ask Chris when will he do an update on some of the projects he's done over the years, I want to see how they look with water in them. Thank you in advance.
Two of my favorite guys! It's funny Chris stood behind the 39PX, that's the one I'm interested in. How many hours have you logged on that thing? It's gotta be wearing thin soon considering. That unit is still rated one of the four best finish dozers to this day. I'm the sort that stays ahead if he can in that game. I'll keep my eye out for deals if I can. Thanx.
Folks say the electronics on the Cat equivalent is far superior but the driver's view sux. Which unit does Chris prefer today? My money's on a newer 39...
To Bealy Good: You & I share one major thing, our love of first class fidelty. You design 'em for the technology & use. I design 'em for living with every day/day in & day out. I'm more about what to play on them & how to enjoy/employ them best. You both employ recording superb sound so don't kid yourselves, you've got that part covered. What sets me apart from most audiophiles? I'm specifically NOT a stereophile! I'm not sure if that translates but it explains my history of embracing quadrophonic & tiring of folks like Paul at PS audio sticking his head in the sand about surround & it's technology forcing the world to a two point source. (The only gear Paul designs is stereo...period.)
Let’s dig is funny as hell! The best though. I need car repair done and the mechanic is like $100 an hour , I ask him what his biggest cost was he said mortgage, insurance, tools, schooling and Taxes paying double for Social Security and Medicare taxes.
Chris is the Number One by the Excavator and Dozer Driver. Have great Experience and a Perfect Eye by the Building from a new Country. The best You hear what He say.
Chris is like me he never got out of the sand box only thing is sand box got bigger and equipment got bigger and Dad's not flipping the bill I just recently bought an excavator last month and for what it cost 25 years ago could have purchased 3 instead of 1 folks doesn't realize all the cost involved to actually do any job there's is just a slice of the pie even though I watched it before still a reminder why we do what we do I love going in behind others and fixing what they screwed up just to guarantee a job next time customer needs something
