Nice question. Lakshmi Mittal still has Indian passport. If u have lots of money ILR is ok. For the kids, its important to get uk citizenship for student loan. Also with ILR you cannot take a long break out of UK and then return as u loose ILR status. Lastly rules can change for ILR holders though generally not retrospectively. With citizenship its tuff to deport u

Chetta, I have been in the UK for last 4yrs in tier 2 gen work visa. I can apply for ILR next year. My family is in India and I am planning to bring them soon. If I get ILR next year, do I have to wait for 5 years before applying for ILR for my children (7yrs old) ( I know that spouse has to stay in the UK for 5 yrs to apply for ILR)

There are a number of immigration categories where it is possible to qualify for indefinite leave to remain ILR after 5 years. Some of these categories include a requirement to spend not more than 180 days outside the UK in any 12 month period during the 5 years.
Nice info, Sir. Since you speak about driving points in this video, my question is about driving. I came to work in UK on 1st June 2019. Bought a new car here and I have been driving on my foreign license till now. Driving test was scheduled but got postponed due to Covid. I went to India for vacation in the beginning of Dec 2019 and returned to UK on 26th Dec 2019. Do you know when is my 1 year period to drive on foreign license expires? Is it 1st June 2020 or do I have time till December 2020 because I left UK and reentered?
