This twist was legendary and absolutely changed the horror game completely. So simple and so well thought out. All saw twists are great and all connects!! That scream was so perfect and will haunt forever in all of horror... the fact that he (the one locked up at the end) made this movie with a very very low budget is nuts!
To me it's the way Jigsaw closes the door while saying "Game Over." And just like that, another "killer freak" was born. He entered the "Horror Hall of Fame" with Myers, Krueger, Vorhees, Chucky etc.
@@sefirotsgame Tbf the hooded look he has when he slices Tapp's throat would've been cool to see be as a more popular representation of the franchise and would've kept the twist, but I agree
The reveal that the dead guy isn't dead is one thing, but you don't even have time to process that revelation before you're hit with a bigger one - his identity. One of the great "HOLY SHIT!" moments in cinema.
One of the best reveals, and it also graced us with one of the most iconic music tracks in horror. Also stopping the music and the credits rolling over the screaming is horror gold.
What people don't realize is it wasn't just the cancer that drove him to do this. His wife and unborn child were both killed earlier on by an inconsiderate criminal.
@@davidward9737Sure, but not everyone is the same. Not everyone reacts to things the same way, sees the world the same way, sees morality as just good and evil, etc.
@@TheVampireEd I understand that bud. I'm saying "just because Jigsaw did it" In a movie. Doesn't condone the fact it is still evil. I lived this in real life, and as I said no thank you. I choose..as in a choice not to be evil. I understand why people snap and choose their path. It is up to the individual to be strong or weak. ❤
He wrote 1-3. The rest were different writers. 1-3 has a solid story with a conclusion - jigsaw dying. It was meant as a trilogy but these movies made big fukcing dollar and cost a little, so many more were made.
@@Edmasterz He was the producer and executive producer for *all* of the “Saw” films. Leigh Whannel. He also wrote “Dead Silence” and the “Insidious” movies. And he made his directorial debut for “Insidious: Chapter 3”. Very talented man.😊
I remember seeing this at the theatre. The whole theatre literally either gasped or screamed when he got up from the floor and tore his mask off. Utterly stunning. Perhaps THE most shocking ending in film history. Ranks up there with ' The Mist ', ' No country for old men ' and ' The Fog ' ...
I would put Sleepaway camp up there as well. Unfortunately, it’s kind of a niche movie, but it definitely has one of the greatest twist endings, especially in horror.
Saw 3 is the greatest movie is this franchise next to the first one. It explains how this whole movie came to be. Also, it wasn't only John's cancer that drove him to do what he does. In another movie, it tells how he drove himself off a cliff and survived the crash. That's where he decided to teach people to appreciate life.
I totally agree, Saw and Saw 3 are the best, the ending of Saw 3 is spectacular, Jigsaw had complete knowledge of the human mind and could accurately predict people's choices in advance
When you stop and think how pure genius great this franchise is the main character was killed off and yet still movies are been made don't believe it should never stop
I still remember seeing this in the theater and after he slides that door shut the feeling of complete despair it left me with..saw was a phenomenal movie front to back. Movie still gives me goose bumps
I was in the movie theater opening weekend for this. Can you imagine how the whole theater was reacting at this moment. Crazy 😂👍 one of the best endings ever.❤
What many people miss during the first viewing. When they get the gun from the "dead guy" in the middle of the room, the doctor opens the 6 shooter and there are no casings in the gun. How would he have shot himself with no bullets?
You know what I just realized? The ending of "Saw" is actually the ending of "The Sixth Sense" in reverse! In the Sixth Sense, the guy who we were all focused on, who we thought was alive, was actually dead the whole time! In "Saw", the guy who were NOT focused on, who we all thought was dead, was actually alive the whole time!!! 😂😂
I was waiting for this compilation from you. Keep the compilations coming dude. I love them. Saw this in theaters the first week it came out and the ending blew my mind. Ive actually never seen big plot twists in movies before this. I would say that Saw is OG in plot twists.
I get chills every time Kramer sits up. I LOVE these reactions. Saw is easily one of the greatest, most impressive low-budget achievements in film history
John slamming the door every going dark and all we hear over the credits is Adam screaming and begging is one of my favorite endings of any horror movie
I love seeing people watch this for the first time. When it first came out most all of us had the same reaction to the ending. Hardly anyone figured it out.
When Adam start to scream im always crying of how bad and at the same time epic it sounds, like, epic in a bad way of course, never gets old,the tone of Jigsaw when he say:Most people is so ungrateful, that part JEEESUS.
Everyone who wonders how he could lay still the entire time don't seem to remember the scene in the Mannequin factory - especially the lines "I'm gonna need stronger tranquillizers next time" and "You're a part of something greater than yourself."
I remember seeing this in the theaters with my friends. Definitely a holy shit moment. Say what you want about the subsequent sequels and what not. But when this movie came out, it definitely was very unique and different.
I remember sitting in the Theater bugging out with my Dad and my Brother over this Ending! This was Truly a Cinematic Masterpiece of a Mystery with a Visceral Twist Ending that We Never Saw Coming! The First Saw was Perfect Film that Didn’t rely on Heavy use of Gore, nor did it need to get talk down! It was the little details that really hit home! This Ending, the swelling Music and the Gut-Punch with the Game over Had me Shocked at how Good this film was. And then the Sequels happened….😤🙄
When I first saw this movie, that voice gave me nightmares and the way he says ‘game over’ at the end sent cold chills down my spine. So good. But the rest of the saw movies became trash after that.
It’s crazy how many movie reactors are out there! There weren’t many if any pre Pandemic. I wish I had gotten on the train early on! There’s just too many right now.
It's a great twist, but the first time i watched this, i said "can you make sure that it's a real dead body", but forget about it until the end, and i was like "ah, see"
@@AntagonistVisionIItheir video is called "watching for the first time" so they've apparently never seen it. must be for set design but it seems weird to design a room with posters of movies you've never seen lmao
That's not their room, if that's what you're trying to say. That's not their house, that's Greg's house the creator/host/owner of the Reel Rejects channel.
If you're talking about the next couple: Asia and BJ, that's literally for decoration, there's a whole lot of cinema they haven't seen and you can check out their reactions to see how authentic they are.
He saw it from the perspective of these people have all their blessings, but they’re taking their blessings for granted, so he wanted to make them see, and understand that
The problem with this film is that Jigsaw has lung cancer. We can see him coughing in one part of the film. But the entire time he was there on the floor, he didn't cough once. I think the choice for him to have lung cancer was poorly thought out, I believe that today James Wan regrets this choice.
Months after the movie was released (the month and day I was born, paradoxically), that scene, apart from not being expected, caused a trauma that made me dream about the last part of the movie. 10/10
Im sorry, but seeing these different reactions that say "I KNEW IT." or "CALLED IT", im calling BS on that(unless you were secretly tipped off beforehand) being in the same video of a "first time watching" reaction
It's been a long time since I saw...well, "Saw", but does it explain how he laid so still for what must have been hours? A side effect of his sickness? Did he take something to slow his metabolism, make it easier to just lie there without moving? Or is it a plot hole?
@@mavericksolomon395 I figured. Remaining still for so long is nearly impossible without some form of aid. Not even those people who pretend to be statues can go that long.
I like the twist but if I was Zepp I would have just gone to the hospital as soon as I found out I was poisoned. It’s slow acting and I highly doubt only Kramer has an antidote to whatever I was given.
@@Bluesit32 I know but I would take that chance. Kramer could be lying or might not be willing to heal me at all. Also, there is no chance I could hurt a mother and her child anyway.
Most of these people are in their 20's or early 30's at best. they would've been too young in 2004 to go see a movie like Saw. I think many commenters are forgetting we are in the 2020's now and that means a whole generation of people who were born in the late 1990's have reached adulthood and this generation are into streaming heavy
