What a performance - incredible precision like a Swiss watch! And my sincerest admiration to the videographer who found an almost perfect angle, allowing the viewer to appreciate the optical as well as the acoustics of this great Corps' performance . You kept a very steady hand, making the right adjustments at the right times bringing a smile (and a big WOW!) to the faces of millions. Thank you!
6 years later and these young men didn't know they would be entertaining and inspiring us in 2022. Loved it. Was watching bag pipers and appreciating them, now drummers. I hope you haven't stopped playing. Be blessed. From San Diego ✌🏼.
I guarantee these guys know 60 beats per minute better than anyone else on earth. Want to know exactly how long a second is... these guys can accurately count them by memory. These men are genius in their own rite.
@Nick does Quad drumming I work on the recording end of things. We have click tracks we play for drummers and others in studio used to set and maintain a perfect tempo. These tempos are in beats per minute. I have worked with quite a few drummers that can accurately tap almost any beat per minute I request without needing to hear a click track first. You may have been taught different highschool drummer. Most professionals understand that tempo is time and Internationally time is measured in seconds minutes hours days years centuries ect.
the discipline is amazing here and the talent that it takes to work as a team like this I cannot imagine how many hours of practice it's taken.Cheers to you boys
MORE please! This rocked. Marching band drummer in high school. 1974, tenor drum. Great fun! 1975, snare. I knew nothing. Just trying to fill positions. wish they had taught me how to play it. These guys, I am just in awe!!
What amazes me so much is the absolute precision all the movements- step, drum stick height above the drum head. I can't even imagine how much practice and dedication this takes.
I used to play a side drum in the Boy's Brigade quite a few years ago. What we played then pales into insignificance with the musicality and precision of these drummers.
Jeff Parker I don’t know if you know this, but they memorize 12 min of music for their show, and the music isn’t really repetitive, it’s difficult, they do stick tricks but they don’t do 500 measures of strait sixteenth notes before lmao
@Jeff Parker, well you clearly know next to nothing about drumlines/ percussion, because if you did, you’d know that the blue devils memorize 12 minutes of choreography, extremely difficult music, and play clean. If you wanna hear a crappy show line that is dirty asf, then keep watching Top secret. If you wanna see true masters, watch Santa Clara vanguard, blue devils, or any top twelve corp. It’s just a fact that top secret is tick city.
he didn't recover he actually dropped the stick..They have a pouch on the side of the drum with extra sticks in them in case they do make a mistake and drop or mishandle them..He pulled one out of the satchel on his drum..If you noticed the little kid run up and grab it...
@@TopDrumCorps Below every single video of these guys there's people praising it simply because it was nice to watch. People had fun watching. And after each of these comments there's SOME GUY coming in with the old "huh yeah it's cheap tricks and visuals. Watch American DCI-Whoever-the-Heck-Devils if you want to see the BEST". Just like your "hurr durr for SWITZERLAND it's good maybe hurr". Noone cares. There's no need to flex. Most of Europe doesn't weirdly make this kinda music a competition. We enjoy it.
The first time i saw these guys was at the Edinburgh Tattoo in the early 2000’s, i was mesmerised and still am by their co ordination and skill! Top Secret and Top Class!
I lost it at 06:30 when the scooter driver with the Elmo balloon drove by.. it was just so out of place and so unexpected, it caught me totally off-guard.
For anyone who's ever studied rudimental drumming and appreciates its history, these guys have got to be the greatest ensemble of all time! And while the 12 snares are incomparable, the guys on the bass drums are beyond belief. Magnificent!!
@@rizim_1454 I have. I’ve watched just about every video on the internet of them. If your saying they sound worse because they are outside, which doesn’t make any sense because drums indoor sound muddy and worse lol. They are dirty asf
I can't get enough of them! Wish we in the states had something like this to celebrate our country, our freedoms and our abilities as well as other countries!
I personally think This Drum corps is awesome, as a dci fan. When people compare this group to DCI of course there are major differences. First off this corps is filled with individuals who do this year round... on top of work and school. DCI corps have more time to practice and fine tune because they have weekend long camps before having a month of 10-14 hour practices before going on tour where every other moment is spent working on music for 12-14 hours a day. and this is from May to August. It also helps to know that this corps doesn't compete as much as DCI groups. So for this group to be able to do what it does and can mess up and make it look normal, is very amazing to me. So stop going around saying this group is bad.
How about wgi groups though? I could compare rhythm x’s snareline to scvs any day and they go through work and school and only play from auditions I’m September-Mid April, with full weekends usually starting in November. I will say, I’m ignorant and do not know how much they practice, but if it’s all year round they should compare better to wgi groups because of the lessened amount of time the performers have to learn the beats and get better.
@@notimpressedbyyourm4932 my opinions have generally changed on the issue. I've learned though that Europe doesn't really take marching band and music in the same style Americans do. I do think they could be better though they haven't been in my eyes as good as they once were.
I remember when I was in the CMCC Warriors from the Bronx. The horn section use to get out early and I use to go watch my brother play these same exercises on the snare with the drumline. This was 1984.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING I CAN FEEL THAT ALL OF YOU YOUNG MEN HAVE A LOVE AND DEEP PASSION FOR YOUR DRUM CORP. MUCH RESPECT TO ALL OF YOU AND THANK YOU FOR THE OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE! GOD BLESS 🇺🇸
This was a marvelous performance! Neo-traditionalism! Moving the art form forwards without losing sight of the centuries old tradition. I loved it! Really cool aesthetic too!
EXCELLENT.... I'M PROUD OF THEM AND DON'T EVEN KNOW THEM. THEY ARE FANTASTIC! YOU ALSO CAN C THEY LOVE AND ENJOY WHAT THEY ARE DOING. WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE! YOU ALL ARE FANTASTIC! 🇺🇸
Absolutely fantastic ! I was listen this evening drums here on youtube: persian + percussion / then indian , african, arabic (started from some local gypsies - but nothing such as this show. What i can say is that European + percussion is the best! :) Military influence is strong but that's must be our european trait.
Drums are one of my favorite instruments. 💕💕💕💕💕🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆😱👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💖💖💖💖💖. That echo sound excellent. I felt it as I was watching it. It is now one of my favorite in my play list.
I love their trickery and visuals!! Kudos!! Just would love to see them clean up some of the diddles and isolated attacks other than that very good and they're very fun to watch!!
every time I watch these it makes me so glad I was in marching band (Thurrock Drum and Trumpet Corps later named Thurrock Marching Brass) and it was a fantastic 6 years life experience. My dad was heavily involved and he passed away on the 6th December this year. Great stuff and hope you keep this going forever to those who really do appreciate it.....keep on getting the chance to do so! Thank you TSDC you are amazing. God bless you all.
+gmlaster Nope wrong, they are youst nearly the same height. If you look closely you will see that in the middle are the smaaler guys. They are youst good sorted ^^
some praise coming your way from America. Absoloutely love the visuals, just fantastic and very sharp looking!! Very good solid druming all the way around. It would be great if you guys could come to the USA and perform at: an NBA game? do some parades? thanks for sharing!!!
@@TopDrumCorps hahahaha i literally went into all their videos just to read your hate comments comparing them to DCI drumlines lmfao! 2 completely different styles DCI are competing drumlines....these dudes do this for the passion behind it and considering they arent full time percussionists its very impressive lol. Imagine if these dudes trained like DCI drumlines they would crush most of them! lol
@@eddieperez7034 dci lines do it for passion as well!! They do compete against other drumlines yes but that doesn’t mean there isn’t passion. I’d say there is even more. I feel bad for the Swiss drummers because they don’t have access to what we have in the USA drumline/ marching band wise. DCI lines practice 10-12 hours a day for 2-2.5 months straight and go on a grueling tour. They even pay thousands to do it!! All of that to do what they love, be a part of a something bigger than themselves as well as knowing you are among the best at what you do in the world. I’m not really hating on the Swiss too much, more so hating on the people surrounding the videos. Almost doesn’t count, they don’t compete nor practice as much like DCI does nor will they ever. If you want to see top secret equivalent watch WGI. Those drumlines only practice on weekends just like top secret yet they are still leagues above.
Not even close. This line is terribly dirty, even on simple double stroke rolls at medium speed. There are high school drum lines in the US that execute at a much higher level.
