People could have left before they started the evacuation. They talked about the storm for days, maybe even a week. Seems like they just want someone to blame. It sucks losing all of your belongings but you can replace them. You cant replace your lives!

He might even have built up resentment towards a male figure who had emotionally or mentally abused him during his early adult years.
