I actually didn't continue, Gutz was shown to be raped as a child by a big guy bandit, then followed by series of violent and horrible events. Damn, I mental state wasnt read for it. Not even now. Lol hahaha
I already finish berserk manga 3 month ago and it's stole my heart become my top 11 anime i think it's fine the genre say say horro dark fantasy and seinen so it's not a centiment - Anime is for kid lol
Berserk start at 1989, that means it's been running for 30 years. If what you said is true, that berserk is at 75% then it will end roughly at the 480th chapter, round it to 500 for the ending and epilogue. We had 360 chapter in 30 years, so roughly we get 12 chapter a year. And we need 140 more chapter to round it up, so roughly it's gonna be another 12 years before berserk ends. Now Miura sensei is 53 years old.
The Lost Children arc really is disturbing. The one elf-bee-child-monster that screamed 'adult attack', took his stinger and shoved it up some other elf-bee-child-monster's ass, after which it reverted back to a human child that is now dead because of anal rupture is one of the most horrible things I've ever seen in any form of media.
@@zannchristo I really like Berzerk! But I have only seen the anime and the movies. I will make a video on it when I finish the manga. I want all of my videos to be accurate and fun.
Guts killing Adonis is a big deal in the story. He saw a lot of himself in Adonis. That really shakes him awake so to speak at what he has become on Griffith’s behalf
Wow I never thought about that being the reason....good point... course almost the entirety of that arc was disturbing, from the fact they turned back to children, to guts fighting the kids ghosts
I remember being deeply disturbed by the arc. Seeing adults act like merciless creatures is one thing. But seeing the most wretched of human behaviour in children hits differently.
I feel that the eclipse was pretty well made, just because you got to know almost everyone involved, and how horrible it was. Made it perfectly to show why guts act like he does in the events that happens afterwards
The writer is a freaking genius. I thought berserk was just ridiculously over the top when it started. I was so wrong. The story looked so big, because it was to be a part of something even bigger. Looking back it wasn't over the top. Just to scale.
@@arnavrawat9864 That's the most powerful part of the entire Griffith rescue "saga", the fact that Griffith doesn't say a single word. I keep guessing what he's thinking. Obvs he says I Sacrifice, but other than that. Was he angry, disappointed, sad, tormented, it's still mostly a mystery
@@tozaisusovac6842 Well, for one thing he was about to kill himself with the tree branch. Besides that I got the impression that he was extremely demotivated, even while being tortured because guts left him, and that he couldn't fulfil his dream
The moment that made me lose my shit and really shocked me was when they finally rescue Griffith and find his body mutilated in a way i couldn't even imagine, when you compare the strong and confident character that Griffith was now being nothing else but a barely living worm it's horrible.
That troll baby being birthed from their mothers stomach is a reference to the chest bursted scene from alien. I wonder how many references are hidden in berserk.
Ahah, i managed to forgot about the kid's play in the lost children arc... Thank you for remembering me theses... Now i can restart my alcohol/weed therapy.
I remember hearing so much about the horse scene before reading beserk and then it was just a like a page or two and then guts chopped it’s head off. Kinda disappointing...
@@IamPussy Farnese would have been fucked to death. It kinda reminded me of Se7en where one guy was forced to rape a prostitute with a strap-on with a dagger instead of a dildo
For some reason the guillotine scene from the first volume always stuck with me. When Guts picks up the girls head frozen with such a fearful expression and throws it to the apostle and he crushes it in his bare hands with her eyes and tongue squirting out was so visceral.
The Lost Children arc doesn't get nearly enough love. It's one of the most disturbing parts of the whole series and a key arc for Gut's development and really, 90% of Puck's purpose as a character takes place in there (the other 10% being the whole Elfhelm thing).
It's funny, I remembered every one of these EXCEPT number 1. Something tells me my mind purposefully blocks that part of that arc shortly after being exposed to it each time.
For me: 1) Troll cave mass raping and birth. (Also, the children being eaten, etc.) 2) Wyald's massacre at the farm, plus the aftermath. 3) Ganishka and Daiba's man-made Behelit, or "Demon Womb." Both because of the victims (and the implications of how they got pregnant) and because of the Apostles that make up the thing-sure they're awful beings, but that thing is an absolutely horrible way to exist. "Honorable" mention to the women being fed to the crocodile monsters in the previous chapter. Personally I think #3 _should_ be #1, but the troll cave kind of steals its thunder (they're only about 20 chapters apart, maybe less). I would have toned down the cave to make the man-made Behelit have more impact by at least taking out the birth part.
I kinda agree with your list, but they moment disturb me the most in all Berserk is when Gatsu and his friends found Griffith on the jail. That shit really haunted me.
Honestly the troll cave scene is the most disgusting part in the entire series for me. Not only do they viciously rape the women en masse who then birth their litter of young like Miura is paying homage to Alien, but the ones who get literally raped to death are then thrown down into this shallow lagoon and used as sustenance for those weird interstice beings. It makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
Goblin Slayer: Hey can I copy your homework? Berserk: sure but make it seem like you didn't copied it Goblin Slayer: 1st ep cave scene Berserk: troll cave scene
They really need to do Berserk justice in animated form and also not skip the Lost Children arc. That arc really affected Guts as a character and kinda introduced the audience to the new, more gruesome way the series went.
The scene that always disturbed me the most is easily the torture chamber. Like Mozgus is so messes up. The way he grins and stares at Farnese while saying "Thou shalt not avert thine eyes" is chilling
I'm a bit late, but like I respec this vid. Usually you'd think Eclipse hands down for most disturbing, but this video took me outta that. Like sure the Eclipse was disturbing, but it was more tears everywhere, hatred in the heart, wth Griffith disturbing. Kids killing and raping eachother, so gruesomely and almost as if it's nothing special. That's disturbing.
Wyald was the scariest apostle to me. Mostly because he reminds me of someone I've met who isn't above stooping to some of his vile antics. He was the marker of the end of the old age and beginning of darkness in tje story. Despicable.
Out of all the things in this manga, the attack on Midland by the Kushans was one of the most disturbing things to me. Them cutting off the heads of POWs en masse and burning civilians alive just to get rid of them is pretty true to life with ancient empires conquering other lands.
That scene with the "elf" psudo-apostles just adds fuel to the fire of Guts's parting message to Jill, "There's no paradise for you to escape to." It's powerful stuff, both in Berserk and in real life. What you see is what you get, and there is the worst kind of evil all around you every moment of every day. Just think about it, especially if you're in a big city. You are never more than 2 miles at most from sex slavers, drug traffickers, politicians seeking to bleed you dry and control you, etc... and everywhere you go, that very same depravity will only ever be a couple stone's throws away. There's no afterlife for the individual. What you see is what you get. So stop running. Never let others decide your life for you, and never trade away your individuality. Much like Guts with his brand, we are all doomed to attract, and be hunted down by, those seeking to impose their will on us. So struggle again it, and if you must fall, go down swinging.
Which was probably the idea- Slan is fuckin` hot, but then you start asking yourself "what the fuck is wrong with me?". And i say- that was the intent. I will say something even more gross- when we see trolls gang- bang, my dick was like "wha... wha... what`s going on?" and i literally said "down boy. You don`t want to see that", and i had crisis right that instant- literally "what the fuck is wrong with me?"
All throughout the Eclipse, I had this feeling of constant dread. It felt like there was no hope, defeat was imminent. No matter how much Guts pushed himself, the odds were insurmountable.
Wyald’s antics is number one for me personally. I absolutely felt so sick after those parts. Kinda toned up Berserk for me and everything else kinda becomes a little easier to swallow. But each of the r*pe parts still scar me that part stuck with me. But yeah. This is just bringing it all back to me and I’m having flashbacks lol! But it’s a great ass manga definitely recommend.
@@mohammedriadh6019 yes, this is absolutely true, with berserk I was shocked, with emergence, I was not only shocked but, I really questioned everything and it made me feel like shit
Number one is probably the Eclipse, but mainly just for Casca. The fact that this was right after Wyald too just made it worse. That whole Heretic “ritual/party/wtf” section during the Conviction Arc was also a close second; I was genuinely wondering what the hell was happening then on top of being disgusted. The King and Ganishka being creepy towards Charlotte are also up there.
dude i'm barely on 7 (the torchure chamber) and im sitting here thinking if the horse was 10 and this is 7...... no. I can't do this. I'll drop a like and back out thanks.
The Lost Children arc is probably my favorite part of Berserk so far (I'm only on volume 24 mind you), but I 100% agree that the scene with the kids acting killing each other when "playing" war was probably the most disturbed I've been reading this manga so far, and that's saying a lot XD.
Watching this video really gives me a perspective on how Miura wanted to portray the times were back then. So many unsung victims were tortured, raped, hurt, etc. With how it is today, I'm kind of thankful how the world's not too much extreme anymore. And I hate the goddamn Wild Antics rape scene. Never have I ever wanted to tear limb from limb Wyald so bad for what he had done to the little girl.
My number one is still the eclipse concluding with Casca’s rape. When I first watched Berserk, I rented volumes 3 and 4 from Blockbuster. Enjoyed ‘em, and thought “lemme test Volume 6” because for some reason I thought there were 8 total DVD’s. I don’t think there was a time where I said “what the fuck” quite so much, to the point where I started cynically chuckling “what the hell happened to this show?” When I found out later that night that those were the final episodes for the ‘97 series, I felt utterly crushed.
Up till now I have no idea why did Griffth rape her? First of all it's not like Griffth's style of dealing with things also he could've done things more brutal than that and it would've split Guts in half. But he went and raped her!
I had been binging the manga hardcore and felt so sick after the troll cave that I put it down a for a week or so, only to start reading again and be graced by the Man-Made Behelit
I never finished Berserk, I watched Wyald's arc and stopped for obvious reasons, but the night I read it I had a dream I don't think ill forget. ever, I dreamt the life of a man who was locked in this horrific world by an entity he could not defy, persevering through it all and with me in it's first person, I don't remember much of the dream, but I remember the entity leading me into a basement and showing me another, horrific black void that stared right back at me with eyes I couldn't tell existed, after I was forced to touch the void I appeared in a lake of indescribable color, I can't for the life of me describe it, the closest I could get was slow flashing white neon, I still to this day can't comprehend how white can be neon like that, but when I appeared in the lake, I was next to a man, when I tried to look at him, I couldn't, he told me he'd been trapped there for eons, that there was no way out, I couldn't move in the lake, slowly more people appeared in the lake, they told me they'd been there for a long time as well, the people around me comforted me and told me they'd be there for me, the woman in front of me especially, when a warm feeling washed over me, I woke up I know there was much, much more to the dream as it went on for hours in my memory, but that's all I remember, there was another one I had the next night, I'll detail it if anyone asks, if you read this, I appreciate it
Go ahead on the next dream, I'll read it. It always struck e how long and complex (and almost REAL) dreams can be, and also that people almost never talk of theirs dreams and ain't more influenced by them...
Literally just started this series like 1 week ago lol, man it’s so good! Art is amazing! Currently have it as a series on my RU-vid of me experiencing the series for the first time!
The 2nd image he shows at the start of this video was for me one of the most uncomfortable pages to look at, after of course the eclipse. It's just a psychological mindfuck, with these out of place humanoid figures that look like something from a Dr. Seuss book, the little people sitting in the body of the largest creature, the anthropomorphic beings with various different limbs just bouncing around like spawns from hell. I also feel like it's a great display of Miura's imagination and ability to draw, and a page that too many people look over.
That page is actually a reimagining of Heironymus Bosch’s “Garden of Eartly Delights.” Bosch was a huge artistic inspiration for Miura when it came to the apostles
@@gunnarp3914 Wow, you're completely right, I can't believe I've never seen that painting before. Truly a disturbing piece, though I could spend hours just looking at the details.
@@bait5257 oh no I noticed him, it's the little fat dude, right? I just assumed however that Miura drew him in there as a little hidden thing idk. I don't think it has any significance though.
I think the most disturbing moment was the childhood memory of him walking around as a mercenary. I think it was called lost summer dreams or something. Basically, we see him as a teenager wandering around, become a slave and see some rly dark shit.
Thank you for making this. I can stomach just about anything but sexual violence, so this was good information to have so I could prepare before I got into berserk :)
i think the most disturbing shit in berserk is what miura was HOLDING BACK to make his stuff readable... awesome work by the way. shows how sick we humans are underneath.
Just caught up with all the chapters. Really was by mere chance that I ever came across Berserk. Such a great series, would be a complete understatement. Chestnut Puck is my absolute favorite.
lost children is such a good arc... if something pains me of berserk is seeing berserk fans saying that the arc doesnt add much to the story or that is too brutal. like seriously. it adds a lot to the story, is basically the conclusion of the first part of the story, the conclusion of the very beginning of the manga, is completely neccesary to understand guts and since guts is the protagonist i would say that is quite important. as for the brutality... i mean, you and me, we are reading berserk you know? if you read berserk you are signing up for that, and if an animation studio wish to adapt it then, it better do it like is supposed to. if you are going to adapt something you have to be faithful to the material, the moment the person in charge says that something is going to be cut is the moment that person should not be in charge
The most disturbing moment for me is that time when i find a dude who probably doesn't even need lube anymore ... talking about how Berserk is overrated
I love the lost children arc though, specially the scene before the one you mentioned, when puck plays ball with the pikarfs, and find out the ball was an eyeball, funny n disturbing same time kkkk
So, I've just finished Conviction Arc yesterday and according to you I've seen most of the disturbing stuff? Is that it? Good to know. The Eclipse and the mass graves for dead children corpses both hit me hard that I had to stop reading for like two months.
Stopped reading for like an hour!! Dude I find myself needing a break after every few chapters with minor events or just one chapter with a catastrophic event.. numbness takes over me through out the whole time! It's really one hell of a ride!
the part that got me was in the tower of shadow chapter, were the woman takes to mozgus for help and instead gets tortured, then in the next chapter the baby dead... Straight hits me in the feels..
That city Ganishka took over and pretty much everything he did to those poor people. Espthr damn women hanging over an alligator pit by their wrists being chomped on
