I love Ovechkin, he is a giant goof. One of the best goals scorers ever to play the game, I hope he beats Gretzky’s career goal record, if anyone can do it it’s him. As long as he remains healthy I’m sure he will, he wants the record.
@@jakobswags5137 clearly you don't watch the Capitals enough. Yes he scores alot of goals on the powerplay because he has the best combination of power, accuracy and quickness to routinely beat the best goalies in the world who are EXPECTING him to do exactly that on every powerplay. But he scores way more beautiful goals in other situations. As for the backchecking that would've been a fair criticism early on in his career but as he grew into his captaincy that changed.
Technically an on ice moment, but the woman flashing Ovi when he is holding the cup on the ice, is my favourite Ovi moment because of course that happened!
I was really happy to see him win a cup, finally. The guy has been an all star every year and been close too many times. Honestly I’m surprised he doesn’t have at least one more.
I will always think that Alex Ovechkin is the best hockey player in the world even if he doesn’t have the most 🥅 goals he is a great sport and amazing at hockey .
It’s pretty likely he will break the all time goal record tho, he’s only like 180 away and averages about 50 a year. If he plays a few more stellar seasons then he’s got it easy.

3rd Generation Hab fan...Seen my team win it all 3 times in my lifetime so I'm pretty fortunate..Teams fallen are hard times now but guess we're headed in the right direction with a couple decent prospects..But yeah Ovi, holy crap what a beast! Nothing but mad respect for this era's most prolific goal scorer!! Not the greatest fan friendly having seen him just out right walk by young fans with his nose up in the air but hey he probably signs thousands of autographs a year!! New stars like Marner and Matthews are so hostile and annoying if the cameras are not on them to catch it! Domi and Kotkiniemi on the other hand are so unbelievably approachable really cool guys...Cheers
Oh yeah for sure! Records are made to be broken right? I have a couple Ovi pieces in my collection aswell as Gretzky too, I imagine if the Ovi train stays healthy enough he'll definitely make a good run at beating that long standing record!! But even so, he should be proud of scoring the most amazing goal in the history of hockey, I could watch it over and over again just perfection!! I remember when Holtby was struggling but on the very cusp of becoming an elite goalie, I commented that MTL should entertain a trade to aquire Holtby and was met by laughter in a MTL group chat...Well a year after that, Holtby went on to becoming one of the NHL's most dominant goaltenders and solidify himself amongst the very elite...It was as if that was exactly what the Caps needed in making their push to be a true contender in eventually becoming SC champions and a true success story!! To finally shake that penguin monkey off their backs was an epic moment for the franchise in general.. Without a doubt surrounded by a very strategically built supporting cast with the likes of Oshie, Gilbert our boy Eller etc etc they were pretty much destined for a deep run, was just a matter of time...
