Top Ten Rarest LEGO Animals! 

Note - I somehow forgot the rancor! My apologies. That one absolutely belongs on the list, especially after the price hike post-BOBF

i think itd be genuinely interesting to see the top 10 LEAST expensive lego animals. which ones have been used the most in different sets? are they being used as decoration or pieces other than just as an animal, like the frogs on the bonsai tree?

These videos are very underrated. The amount of time and quality that goes into these is insane for the size of the channel.

as somebody who has the whole Lego Smaug set, im suprised it was this expensive. i was unaware i had a collectors item XD

The stingrays from the old obscure short lived diver sets were pretty cool, (though looked more like bat rays) and haven't been seen sense then. They even had a part on their wing/fin that the divers could grab onto.

Every Bionicle fan ever desperately wants Smaug's wings for at least one Makuta MOC.

There's a Tiger with the Jasmine set from the Disney line. It's out now. I just bought it to celebrate Year of the Tiger. It's very similar in size to the one listed. But it does have slightly Disney-esq eyes, and you can put a saddle on it like a horse (or brick fill it). I made sure to get it for year of the Tiger, and it was the only reason I bought that set, lol

The goat deserves special mention as the rarest Lego animal that is only one piece and not only is an exclusive mold, but the only time that species of animal was ever made in Lego so far. Smaug is impressive of course, but it's multiple pieces, and not the only time a dragon was made in Lego.

Cool list. I actually have most of the basilisk and really love him. Fun fact, that version of the Basilisk actually appears as a boss in the first LEGO Indiana jones game, which inspired me to get one :)

I'm SO happy that as a The Hobbit fan myself, I got Smaug brand new with its set, back in the day for retail price. :D He's one of my favourites figures, even so that I have him in my glass cabinet from day one. Also, don't forget that with the Smaug set, came King Thorin *w* and Filli and Killi with their fight armour.

I used to have a Smaug Lego when I was little. Was absolutely obsessed with the thing. The fact that it’s the rarest on the list hurts my soul because it would have been so cool to still own it. The thing got lost during a move into a new home. The set on its own was almost a hundred, the fact that Smaug himself is worth 200 now hurts to know man

I have the glowing octopus... I didn't realize it was that expensive. I will definitely be watching that value closely now.

Smaug is technically a wyvern, and not a dragon. Dragons have four legs and they have separate wings. Wyverns only have two legs and their wings and front legs are actually their arms. Wyverns also tend to have a lot more horns than either Western or Eastern style dragons.

Where’s the Rancor from Star Wars? It’s worth like $75-$100 on average

I was lucky enough to pick up the dark gray elephant from a charity/thrift store in Retford (England) as a child. I had no idea it was so valuable until recently. Rebrickable doesn't even list values for most of the parts - only 2 have values; the pin connecting the tail which is a fairly common part at 7p, and the part that connects the head to the shoulders which is worth £12.55 on its own. Rebrickable has a tendency to overestimate part costs but still the high cost of one part and the lack of data for the others speaks volumes. Didn't get the rest of the set it came in just the elephant. Funnily enough one of the first MOCs I ever made and posted online, Greeblimus, was made with the elephant's head. Ended up using the name on here for a while and some people still know me by that. The parts have come in handy for other things as well namely those ears which I wish were available in more colours.

Wow I didn’t know about the goats mold being destroyed, luckily I got the set for my birthday back then so I have the 2 from that set, I also have smaug, the tiger, the light grey classic elephant and that glow in the dark squid, had no idea about the squid being that expensive since no one ever really talks about it

I have 2 of those goats from the kingdoms set. Pleasant surprise to find out they're worth that much. Interesting story as to why as well. Guess I'll cherish the little guys.

I really love everything this guy says. I just don't think I want to be this kind of collector. I want to give my sets the room they deserve. It breaks my heart to see that blacktron base stuck waaaay back there

I miss the bionticle series they were the best. Also I have the smog dragon. I got it when I was a kid for my birthday and I had no idea it’s this rare!

i like number 7, baby dragon looks cute. When the baby dragon grows up, I will give him an education in the best schools and enter the best universities

If I had a time machine, I'd definitely go into the past and buy a bunch of those tigers and goats.

I have Smoug! its from an old set i got when i was younger, it came with the throne inside the mountain with the Arkenstone! it also came with Bilbo with Sting and the ring, Fili, Kili, Balin, and Dwalin. Sadly most of the set got destroyed so i am planning on finding the pieces soon to rebuild.

I love the Ninjago Music in the background! 🤩 I’m also so shocked that the goat mild was destroyed!! Like you would think it would be a more common piece but oh well, I do hope they make a new mold, the goat was pretty cute when it was standing next to Zane in the video! 😆❄️

A long time ago My family got a knockoff Smaug, because of how expensive the real one was. Well, it took 2 months to arrive, and when it finally did... The wing immediately broke.

I have Smaug, I purchased the whole set he came in used for 300 Canadian during the summer of 2020... The fact that Smaug alone is now worth more than that blows my mind. Great video!

I almost got my hands on a goat recently. I went to a conference where someone brought a bunch of LEGO 2008-2013 Era sets to build as a challenge, and among them was an incomplete Mill Village Raid set, with one of the goats included. I tried everything I could to convince them to give it to me, but it was all in vain...

My mother used to have the dark elephant set. But we believe it was sold a few years ago. (Without knowing that the elephant was so expensive)

Smaug's wings would be absolutely perfect for a MOC of a movie accurate Makuta Teridax from Legends of Metru Nui. The color, scale, ball joints, etc. Yo uh's would just need a custom, Movie Accurate mask and at least 1 copy 2003 Makuta set and you're good to go.

Why didn't the Rancor make the list? I could see it being in it's own category, but if the Dewback made the list, the Rancor is easily up there at over $100.

I was super lucky to get the Lonely Mountain set for Christmas when I was 11-now that I know that Smaug is worth that much, I’ll be taking extra care of him!!

I got the Lego goat with orange spots for only 15 dollars and 90 cents on Amazon.(note: it isn’t the one from the minifigure series, that one is just white and doesn’t have the orange spots.)

I actually got EVERY lego hobbit set back when they were coming out. It so happens that I did not keep all of them put together accept for the hobbit hill. I also have every figure in a box of minifigures although the dragon can’t fit in there. I remember that thing going for $150 but jeez $240??? That’s insane. I wonder how much more it will be if I hold on to it lol

I got both the mill and the jousing sets when they were still on shelves. I was around 14 years old and I remember my dad telling me that I was too old for LEGO. So I bought one myself and got the other set from my grandparents for christmas. I still have the sets standing on my shelf today.

I bought the basilisk about 2 years ago, sadly didn’t come with the fangs so I got a little creative, also damn! The baby water dragon is the rarest? It did come with one of the larger sets but wow, glad I’m hanging onto my elves lmao

The baby horse was only used in 2 sets geared for girls in the 90s. I have one and the price is going up.

Oh my god Smaug. I used to own that specific set, but over time it fell apart and I eventually lost the dragon itself. Not sure where it is now, but I’d love to recover it some day

9:23 Hey, I actually own that one! I don’t have the set together anymore & my only surviving sets from that theme are missions 2,3, & 6 but I’ve always had that special animal set aside with my other favorites. I think it’s my only glow in the dark thing either since I decided against getting the Bone Demon recently. It’s nice to know I actually own something rare.

So, I’ve always loved Lego, but I never “played” with it as such because I was afraid I’d break pieces off or I’d hurt myself trying to move certain parts like a figured hands. But I think what I love most about Lego is building it, I just find something so calming about building a Lego set that I’ll spend a solid hour building it and complete it. The last Lego I built was Obi-Wan’s star fighter ship he used when visiting Kamino for the first time, it even comes with one of the Kamanon’s figures.

Finding out I have a $240 dragon sitting on my shelf is pretty nice

The only one i own is the Smog piece. Was pretty bummed out when they discontinued all the LOTR and Hobbit sets. They were extremely dope and definitely my all time favorite sets growing up.

Wow omg I have that Smaug and I didn't even realize how valuable it was. I also have the dark grey elephant but it's missing the ears, half the trunk, and tail because I got it from a LEGO workshop thing a while ago my school did where we were doing things with LEGOs and they let us keep a few so that's what I chose. Really need to get myself a Basilisk and the Star Wars ones.

Man, the local hobby shops have large bins of pawned collection, and once and a while they'll sell the figures separately, and I've found so many pieces or whole animal figures. It's so funny to see them being sold for a 10th of their bricklink prices.

these videos hurt when all you can think of is the now totally destroyed Smaug you had when you were smaller.

So I went into this expect a list of the 10 least common lego animals... I made it to #8 when the animal is actually a saddle piece for a standard black lego horse.

My favorites are the goat and the octopus. My daughter would love those baby dragons.
