WEAPONS MONTH IV Week Four: Earth It is my favorite element of the bunch, so I'm happy to present video games' greatest earthshakers and geocrushers! Become My Patron www.patreon.co...
know what would be awesome: A geomancer using the lava variation and turning his legs into volcanoes, then using the propulsion from the eruption to FLY like rocket boots!
It's actually rather simple: Magic is about using the universe around them and manipulating it to their use by using inherent magic within the world around them. By the element of fire, it is creating a chemical reaction in which flames can be conjured. Air, meanwhile, is the use of air currents and commanding it. Water is the same as air or, when creating it, combining the hydrogen and oxygen in the air into concussive forces. And finally Earth is the use of the geothermal plates and the inherit power from the mother planet to allow manipulation of her surface. That help?
TheHeroOfTomorrow So my overly conveluted explination is for naught? XP ...why am I talking like those people in TV shows who use fancy words to sound smart?
Deathbattle for Toph vs Gara... it was meh some aspects i thought were unfair, but i still think Toph would have won even if the batte was a bit fairer? ( I dont know if thats a word)
That last one, I only have one thing to say: "DAMN!" You need more than just the patience of a saint from the looks of it. I wonder what the reward is for beating this guy.
So the next list is about one of my favorite elements, electricity? Nice. Due to which characters that are appearing in your elemental lists right now, I kinda think these characters will probably be on your next list. Raiden (Mortal Kombat) Cole MacGrath (InFamous) Zekrom, Zapdos, Thundurus or Raikou (Pokémon) Ivan (Golden Sun) Larxene (Kingdom Hearts) Ramuh (Final Fantasy) Zeus (God of War) Razor or Zeus (DOTA 2)
here's an idea for your next possible weapons month countdown. how about a top ten generals, puppeteers, summoners, necromancers, etc (make the title whatever you want). what i mean is any sort of one person or deity that goes into battle using the powers of others whether it be through leadership, tyranny, manipulation, summoning contracts, etc. while this list is primarily about the summoner in question, points can be given or docked depending on how strong and capable the partner/tool is and their bond with consideration with the type of relationship their is between leader and unit or units.
Might as well call it "Square-Enix Month" because there's been a Kingdom Hearts character and a Final Fantasy character in every single Weapon's Month IV countdown so far. Heck, FF Characters have already been #1 in two occasions! XD (Which makes sense considering Final Fantasy's roots) Of course that I'm super happy to see yet another KH character in WM4 and I really hope Larxene makes it into next week's list >:D And yeah, I was also glad you put Groudon too. Good job once again, Oscar! Weapon's Month IV is coming along very well :3
ComicFoil Yeah, they basically cemented the "4 Crystals based off the 4 Elements" trope in RPGs. But hey whatever excuses Oscar to talk about Kingdom Hearts is good enough for me :P
All right. Time to throw my opinion into the mix. Let's rock. First of all, I prefer Azir cause he looks so boss, along with Gnome and Stone Man. (BTW, The Tasmanian Devil and Robo Taz have Geomancy too, at least in my fanfic). A shame Toph, Gara and Kwame are not here. 10: Never heard of this guy, but he seems pretty cool. Plus, using tech to manipulate earth. Nice start. 9: Why not have an ultra cool golem in a fighting game. Aganos seems more like a gentle giant. But hey, Geomancy. Earth, Golem dude. 8: Taric? I was hoping you would go for Azir. He can not only revive dead towers he can turn them against opponents, he has a much cooler backstory, tied with Sivir and Cassiopeia and his design is awesome. But hey, your list. So can't complain about it. 7. Sand King? I kinda see where you're going with this. Again, your list You the boss. 6. This is a choice I am comfortable with. I kinda figured Groudon, the mascot of Ruby, Omega Ruby and Team Magma would be here. Why wouldn't it. My first gen 3 game was Ruby, I caught a Groudon and whooped the E4 with it. Good Times. I plan on doing so again, with Primal Groudon. 5. Issac? Oh yeah, that assist trophy from Brawl. Well, here's hoping he's the next DLC character. 4: Here's how I would have seen the start of this segment: You, IRL, pointing at the top right corner of the screen, pointing at a clip from ObsidiusFan and Water Master Fawn's Top 14 Organization XIII Members: Water Master Fawn: "And his weapon is so bada**. It is a combination between a hammer, an axe and a sword. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THREE DIFFERENT WEAPONS MONTH COUNTDOWNS GREEN SCORPION!" You: He's a geomancer. Happy now? I admit, this guy is hard core as a geomancer. Whoooped my but first time I went up against him in Final Mix II and Re:Chain of Memories, I ry to see his three Sleights before finishing him off. Those being Impact Quake, Rockshatter and Ground Impact. When he does number 3, oh boy. Also I'm surprised with the power rating you didn't use that over 9000 meme. Heck, he could have made a good DBZ character. Nappa: Vegeta, what does the scouter say about Lexaeus' Power Level? Vegeta: It's over Nin...ty Thousaaaaaaand!. 3: She's like Toph, but evil. Enough said. 2. King Midas might have nothing on Tremor. So who surpassed him? Recap: Number 10: Unmemorable Marine. Number 9: Aganos. Number 8: Insert Jem theme song here. Number 7: Sand Scorpion King. Number 6: This makes more sense. Number 5: Talk to the Hand. Number 4: It's over 9,000! Number 3: Evil Toph and number 2: Tremor. 1. And here I thought you would go for Scarmiglione, the last of the 4 fiends, but you're going for Earh weilders, not Earth and undead. And Titan brings the rock. Next up is ElectroMancy. My guess is any Electrical robot, Larxene and Phosphora will be there.
It's funny how Issac has a bunch of "world ending" abilities. I mean he and the rest of the original adepts sort of caused a giant catastrophe in the form of the Golden Sun XD
10: Never heard of this game, unfortunately. Sorry 9: Wow, now THAT is a badass golem! 8: This entry is truly, TRULY outrageous! 7: DOTA 2 over LoL again? eh... 6: Of course you went for Groudon! Well, this is your list, so. 5: I really need to play this game again...Isaac for Smash! 4: I really must get KH 2.5! 3: Welp, I can't really tell if she is good or evil. 2: He sure has some badass fatalities, honestly. 1: Oh hello, big boy!
Also I can imagine you doing another weapons month using other elemental abilities somewhere down the line such as shadows, ice, smoke, or light as examples. Depending on who you can find to fill the role.
Huh. Wasn't expecting #1 to even be considered for this list The next list is of my favorite element! Expected characters for Next Time: Raiden, Volkner, Ramuh, Larxene, Blanka, Ryze, and Elec Man
As in the Aeromancer list, there was I character I felt HAD to be on it. Didn't care where, as long as they were THERE. And, again, they were. Number 3, to boot. :)
10. Now that is one creative gun he wields, and awesome granades. 9. I'm gald aganos is on this list. Damn it i need to get a Xbox one and this game 8. Man i remember playing this champion when i first time played Lol back in 2011. 7. It's like a giant sand scorpion emerging from african desert. 6. I mean come on it's a giant armored behemoth. I like kyogre over groudon. But Groudon is really impressive. 5. I wonder how many fan demand this character this gets for smash. 4. Man that's alot of stalactites. 3. I remember this villainess, she was a great final boss in the second son. Also SPOILERS. That bitch killed delsen's brother! Also second son has the best powers in the series. 2. That is one deadly Geomantic ninja. 1. If wind isn't rare in RPGs then looks no further then Titan of the earth. It's colossi size is unbelieveable. Freakin Brilliant.
Oh yes, Titan's first! And he deserves after the numerous amounts of time he land-slided me down the platform. Because even at level 60 and unsynced, Titan still kicks your ass as if you're 50.
I really liked this countdown and your right about Groudon being the one to get the better upgrade through primal reversion and I have some game recommendations for you. No. 3 Little Battlers eXperience for 3DS. No. 2 Fossil Fighters series for DS and 3DS. No. 1 Elsword online. I hope you enjoy these games and for Elsword you can get it on Steam but I think the website gives it to you for free.
Warframe has some great elemental benders. Some include volt, the electric cc frame, ember, the queen of setting everything on fire, Frost, the ice Mage that can be both tank and offense, Saryn, the posion queen of DoT who can double as a tank due to having an upgrade to a power that allows her to heal, mag, the magnetism master, and so on. Maybe you could check out some of them for some weapons month!
10: A guy who has an Earth-manipulating gun... Who is as interesting as dirt? Wow. An odd start, I'll be honest. 9: Another KI fighter! Also... banging rocks together. You just wanted to make a Cave Johnson reference, Oscar, Admit it... 8: Hey again, Taric! He does need a design tweaking. On the legs. And as a tank support, while he's okay, I still have more fun with the likes of Blitzcrank and Leona. 7: Funny thing is, Sand King is the main of a friend of my brother from Croatia who plays DOTA 2 with him! 6: THE GOD THE LAND!! I still prefer Kyogre, but hey, I acknowledge Groudon's badassery. 5: Megiddo is also an Almighty Element spell in the Shin Megami Tensei series. But that aside... maybe I should give Golden Sun a try sometime. 4: Yeah, in terms of personality, Lexaeus is... rather weak, for sure. 3: Brooke is... well, the definition of Grey Morality, in a way. But damn, her powers! 2: Well, Tremor is sure to give us... a ROCKY reception! 1: The Wrath of the Earth... The Summon Rydia used to create a new mountain line next to Mist... after Mist was wrecked by that Bomb Ring that Cecil delivered without realizing it... AND SHE WAS STILL A KID WHILE DOING IT!!!
1 question. Would Behemoth from Evolve be on here if you played it? I'm guessing not, as only 2 out of his 4 abilities involve the environment and can be counted as geomancy. I figured I'd bring this up since you're a content creator constantly encouraging comments
So next countdown is on Lightning.... I hope you have play Asura's Wrath because Deus is a fucking beast with his Lightning power, for the other one I say Larxene from KH, Ramuh from Final Fantasy, Raiden from Mortal Kombat, Volgin from MSG3 and a champion from League of Legends (I can't play it but I'm pretty sure there is someone with Lightning in this game).
Hey Green Scorpion, how about an "omnimancer" episode? As in a mage that has control over many/all elements without specifically specializing in a single element, like Genis from Tales of Symphonia.
AchtungFreud That list was more kind of "generic arcane wielder" where the conditions are pretty much "Do magic?" even if the magic is vague, like Ganondorf's. When I say "omnimancer", I mean an effective control over all the elements. Or at least a notable array (since different games have different types and quantities of elements). I use Genis as an example because he can fluently use many different elements. Like Green Scorpion said in the "Spellcasters" list, Ballos' magic is basically just "Change form", and Misery's mage-ness is in the form of things like teleportation and what can only be described as "magic...ness...", so they are spellcasters, but again, not really "multi-element" casters. From the spellcasters list, Mizuti, Sypha, and Kefka (and others) would be considered multi-element mages, while characters like Ganondorf and Dimentio would not. Tharja is arguably not because of classes, but that is up for debate. Ryze is also debatable since he only really uses lightning in-game despite his backstory suggesting he can use much more.
Your favorite? Well that's a thing. Now how do you rank your favorite element: 10. Well I've never heard of this game before. Still good on you Oscar. 9. Killer instinct again eh? I may just have to play this game if I was into fighting games. 8. Another LOL character... at least you have good taste. 7. Scorpion eh... well that does make sense... still I'm not into DOTA but some people might shake thier heads at inexperience 6. Yes! It may not be as high as Kyogre but I played Ruby which means I like this guy. 5. Back to Golden Sun... I'm starting to think I should play this game... 4. I wasn't expecting this guy to be so high. I mean I mostly see the power... not the earth... still now I see what you were talking about. 3. Infamous... I need to play this series. It looks fun. 2. Ah now here's a Geomancer! I never heard of this guy before and now he looks cool enough to play! 1. So this guy's basically the Gnome of the final fantasy universe... I can dig it! (Get it?)
Hey just some ideas for another weapons month 10 trident weilders 10 knife fighters 10 sport fighters (characters who attack with sporting equipment) 10 battle dancers (could be a thing) 10 necromancer 10 plantmancers (I know it has a specific name but fucked knows how it's spelt)
You should have played Magical Starsign, scorp. Would have made this series so much easier, considering Manipulating the elements is what that game is all about. (Don't judge it by it's cover, though...)
All right! Let me see what's gonna be on. First off, obligatory League guessing. Gonna say Malphite.... .... All right, you got me there. Looks like it's Taric. I guess 'Gemcraft' also counts as Earth magic... But seriously, though, I'm impressed with your Taric impersonation before he said gems are truly outrageous. Made me thought suddenly someone else did the narrating. Surprised that you'd return to Dota again... Lemme guess... either Earthshaker or Tiny... GAH! Got me wrong again, it's Sand King this time! Makes me wonder what's your opinion on Azir, he should've been a legit contender for Earth stuffs (though I understand you still put Taric, but you didn't even mention Azir, unlike Malphite). I'm not following that much on Dota 2 meta, but yeah, that sums up what Sand King does. Sandstorm is pretty much a very safe jungling tool, you just get invisible, then attract and possibly stack creeps while you're at it. Support to set up kills, yes, Burrowstrike does let you set up kills. Semi-carry, I'm... not quite sure, but just make sure he's heavily fed if you want that, though a Blink Dagger + Epicenter can really do the job if you can catch the enemy with surprise. Oh and if you are worried you put Dota characters above LOL in this countdown, well don't worry. You didn't do that on the Fire month, otherwise you might've added either Lina or Ember Spirit. Makes me wonder what heroes you remember playing though. Eh, maybe a PM will do the trick later.... Wait, hold up... You're going Electromancer next? I thought this month would be over after the main 4 is dealt with. I guess we just won't be seeing Cryomancer, though. Oh well! Without a doubt, Kennen is going to be in that list, and I'll hold to your belief that we won't be seeing any Dota hero, because I'm not sure you played Razor, Storm Spirit or Zeus (but Zeus may make appearance based on the GOW appearance)
I liked to ask you a question. It's more of a personal question. You know about you wanting Isaac in smash. You know any moveset and final smash for him?
Now, I've never played any Infamous, with the exception of a tiny bit at the start of 2, but is there any reason that some Conduits survived in Second Son? Or is it a spoiler?
+aneonfoxtribute As far as I know there isn't really a reason. It just turns out a small fraction of the Conduit popular wasn't affected by Cole's Ray Power Inhibitor. It really is an incredibly small percentage that are still around (around 10% of the original quantity), but I always thought that was just a tiny bit of a cop out. If anyone else knows a more specific reason why these Conduits survived I'd be interested to hear it. I think maybe it's that those people were turned into Conduits from being in contact with the Beast, and Conduits formed that way were immune to the RPI? Maybe?
+ComicFoil Basically no one in the world of Infamous knows. There are theories, but for the moment its unclear. To be fair though the RFI was never stated to kill all conduits, the gang in 2 just assumed it would. We don't really know how it works, so it's hard to know how it targets conduits or if it can be avoided/blocked. My personal theory is that its possible that there are variations on the conduit gene that don't get affected by the RFI, and that would explain why Second Son has such weird powers compared to the more basic ones of the first two games.
