Gagagigo is a Digimon. Hear me out. Gigobyte: Rookie Gagagigo: Champion Giga Gagagigo: Ultimate Gogiga Gagagigo: Mega Risen: Special Mode, I.E Gallantmon Crimson Mode OR Gogiga Gagagigo: Dark Digivolution, like Skullgreymon or Megidramon Risen: Proper Mega He just gives off that kinda vibe.
@@andrewowens4421 they really need a few support cards specifically for the gagagigos. I got one GIGA-EVOLUTION IMPACT apply the effect if there are these monsters on the field. 1. Gigabyte: special summon one gagagigo from your hand deck or graveyard in face up attack mode 2. Gagagigo: special summon giga gagagigo 3. Giga gagagigo: special summon 1 gogiga gagagigo 4. Gogigagagagigo: destroy all of your opponents card on the field
You missed the most important detail with "Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe". As with the other boss trains, it derives its name from German with Liebe meaning Love. So it is a Love Cannon.
Also, Lieberman is the combination of Gustav Max, Anna’s ace and Number 81 Super Dora, a Number that would naturally be available to Yuma. Make of that what you will.
@@DeathLeprecon YAY! cowboy for game! then there's the synchro variarn nothang, dealing 600 instead of 800, but also lowering an opposing monsters attack by 600
My favourite thing about XYZ summoning is that it should be the most straightforward extra deck summon, but XYZ material both exist and don't exist at the same time. They are more out of the game than face down banished cards until they are detached. Your cards become Schrödinger's cat. They introduced quantum superposition to Yugioh.
yes but also no, there's simply a lack of cards interacting with materials. Materials are still ygo cards, but they're considered materials no matter what their original card type is, so they aren't affected by any kind of card type specific effect anymore unless its affecting materials.
I finally got to use all my Bleach knowledge that was hidden away after all those years of me watching it weekly in high school, so I can thank the Yugioh Numbers for that. Also, give me Baby Tiragon as a plushie. You know you want to Konami.
Gem Knight Pearl actually has a reason to have no effect. It's part of the Duel Terminal storyline, around the time Vylon Disigma becomes the major threat. It absorbed effect monsters, which Pearl isn't and also has 100 more ATK, making it a direct counter. There's 3 cards showing them fighting directly, and Pearl apparently gave their live to save Constellar Ptolemy M7. The pearls around it also go where it punches, which is rad.
@@lucianoprocopio937 I can agree somewhat, but Duel Terminal was the absolute worst offender of this by far. The current Albaz storyline shows you can have it both ways. We need more effects like Dogmatika not being destroyed by battle with extra deck monsters because they're trained to fight dimension hoppers, and less Flamevell Magician, who gets 400 ATK if an Ally of Justice is on the field, useless in Flamvell and AOJ decks, but great for the LORE!!!
The thing with the numbers is that they take om the desires of their wielder, shark valued power so he got a mighty sea creature and yuma got utopia because it represents his desire to help and protect others and Utopia can negate attackes while being a light warrior, in galaxy queens case what sparrow wanted was his mother,s love so he got a monster that looked like his mother with the effect to protect him and his monsters
Yeah. Then there are the Numbers which are the embodiments of the Barians' true memories. Also, the fake version of numbers 1-4 which represented the desires and personalities of the people who used them. Honestly, I just loved all of the Barian stuff.
I saw that one image about Zombiestein trying to give flowers to Gagaga Girl on Reddit. She put out her smartphone and took a picture to make fun of him on Twitter. Damn... The top spot's name is rivalling the naming of Japanese Light Novels.
23:41 Fun fact: Dog girl is never seen again. Not even a little cameo in the finals or in the next season. Cathy threw for nothing. She really deserved better...
I will defend Cathy relentlessly since she gets screwed over by being relegated to the useless friend group. Any time she interacts with Tori, I got hype just watching her do things and propel the conflict
She appears next to the Camera guy and the construction kid when Yuma duels Vetrix. And never again. I actually only noticed that on a rewatch of that duel.
I love Baby Triagon and will defend him with my life. Also, fun fact: In Legacy of the Duelist, Baby Triagon is always in Yuma's extra deck, and I think that's nice.
Gem-Knight Pearl was great in Infernoids since it was a beat stick that didn't count against your level cap (Infernoids can't be summoned if total level/ranks of *effect* monsters you control are >8).
9:03 In all seriousness, I suspect the reason Konami went with "thrice" over "three times" (or "3 times") has less to do with "consistency" or whatever and more to do with space. By the Xyz era, card effects were already trending towards five-paragraph essays and you gotta cut down on text where you can. (Y'all remember the novellas Union monsters used to have?) Every little bit helps when you're reading through a microscope. So some enterprising soul used "thrice" on "Coach King Giantrainer" so that if such space-saving measures became necessary, there would be a precedent. But that's all speculation on my part. I wonder whether anyone's taken credit? Is there a press release or interview somewhere we could find firsthand information?
And then we moved into the Pendulum Era and all that space saving went right out the window. Seriously, it's part of the reason Pendulum monsters literally give me a headache. So. Much. Words.
@@Omicron9999 Maybe whoever translated "Coach King Giantrainer" saw what was coming and decided to stanch the approaching flood as best he knew how: one-to-four characters at a time. A true visionary.
I feel like when they were talking about Liebe, Rata from Rank10Yugioh need to chime in and say something to the effect of "You guys better not dis my trains!".
Finally someone giving some well deserved respect for poor Cathy, I know the YuGiOh anime just "need" some background cheerleaders for the protagonists but Cathy could be used so much better, seeing her on screen always made the EP more fun and enjoyable for me she definitely deserved better
I don't recall Playmaker getting much of that unless Ai counts? Yuma is on the border of cool and lame, and you can see the immense rift between his cool friends and his lame friends. It'd be one thing to see Bronk interact with Shark/Kite, much less Caswell/Flip.
About the TV Show with Galaxy Queen: There's quite a chance that Astral watched reruns that originally ran while Yuma and he were out in school or so. That's how I first watched Dragonball
Paleo/Frogs, the combination of botch decks can use Cat Shark as a way to beat strong monsters, and I know this because I play the deck, is rarely played but at 1 it can steal some games with a 4400 Toadally.
Number 22: Zombiestein has also a spanish translation error. The spanish translation says that the monster targeted to negate its effect it is also changed to defense position; instead of Zombiestein. That means that if you were to compare effects, the spanish version of Zombiestein is better than the english version.
I'm still hoping of the Top 10 Yu-Gi-Oh Monsters with Weird Types. And I'm hoping that Number 1 will be a Three-Way Tie between Oppressed People, People Running About and United Resistance.
Hey Duderino, you should make sure your videos start about 60 or so frames into it on whatever video editing software you use or give a 1-2 second lead-in time for your video. My smart TV and a few of my other devices tend to skip over the first second of your video, the end result is jarring. Otherwise, great job! This is a flashback to 10 years ago.
One of my favorite Xyz is Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus. It's overly long name is just so ridiculous, but it's also an incredible boss monster and not too hard to summon, either.
If i remember, Gem-Knight Peral doesn't have effect because of Duel Terminal Lore. He does not have the ability to fuse as the other menbers of his tribe. But actually he is kind a Badass in the history.
Toadally awesome in Japanese is mochi kaeru, which does mean mochi frog (餅カエル), but can also be read as to take-out/take-home (持ち帰る) which references its effect to steal the card it negates.
When you guys reach 60k subs will you talk about cards that look you guys? When you talked about Galaxy Queen, I had a flashback to that one episode in the Yu-Gi-Oh Duelist Kingdom Arc where they had a shadow duel with Yami Bakura and got their souls sucked into their favorite cards. No one asked, but I think I look most like Magical Exemplar - we have similar tired-intense stare energy.
Wait, I thought Zombiestein’s effect meant that you have to change Zombiestein itself to defence mode in order to negate a monster’s effect. Like, ‘this card’ implying Zombiestein, because ‘that card’ was confirmed to be your opponents card.
I think that if Gagagigo the Risen had an effect it would have been better; it could have been used to show what kind of personality it has in this form. e.g. an effect to redirect an opponents attack to itself for a protective personality
Gem-Knight Pearl actually has a reason to have no effect, due to it's pseudo signature attack card, Oni-Gami Combo, detaching it's material for it to use it's effect
@@BramLastname because it not having an effect matches with half of the Gem-Knights being Normal monsters. It would have been cooler if they made it a Gemini monster (as some Gem-Knights are) that summons itself with that effect, but it wouldn't make sense for an Xyz monster to be able to be normal summoned (via the gemini effect)
@@runman624 they could've made them p.a.c.m.a.n. Flip monsters They could allow you to use 2+ materials, They could've had rank ups that use 2 Xyz as material. They could've made ones that require a specific level difference since they ignored the Nega-Synchros.
Cool, you are tackling XYZ summoning! Fun fact, me and my siblings usually referred to it as X Y Z (You know, like Dragon Cannon) instead of ik-seez. But to this day, I’m the only one who pronounced it like Konami wants us too. Definitely the standout ones for me on this list is Superdreadnought and Numeronia. The former for being a Rank 11 monster requiring 3 level 11 monsters, which is not the easy thing to do but boy it would be worth it since you would have a 4000 with 2000 extra beat stick. And the latter for his obnoxiously long name. I mean, what’s the creative process when naming these monsters? Thank you so much for another splendid Yugioh countdown, MrTopTenList. I love you, NegetiveX, and Judgement Meters reaction to Shark’s…….sharks. XD
I think my favorite Xyz monster is Galaxy Queen. Tbh The Sparrow part 1 & 2 were my favorite episodes just because of Nelson's relationship with his mom and how he acted around Galaxy Queen. Even their dialogue was kinda sad and heartwarming depending on the situation. Nelson's mom even felt hurt when Nelson claimed Galaxy Queen was his mom. In reality this could parallel real world how parents push their kids too far into insanity or something like that
I just want to point out all or at least most of Cathy's cards are on DL as ticket rewards, so I'm starting to think that we won't see her this or maybe even next year, feels bad man. Also, if Penguins are an archetype, why Konami doesn't make the other random decks an archetype too? Like Cathy's cats, the Monkeys/Gorilla used by Wheeler/SAL en GX and that guy from 5D's that nobody remembers, the Spiders from Roman Goodwin or Koalas/Kangaroo from Chumley.
I've actually started collecting her cards in Duel Links to see if I can make a deck. They feel incredibly slow and situational, so I have a feeling it'll be a dream to get to get them to work right unless I load a deck up with the best spells and traps. Still, I hope they eventually add her after the main villains of the Heartland Tournament. And I'm always for more animal archetypes. I've said it before, but we have all those turtle cards and no official archetype, so Konami should get on that eventually!
@@MrTopTenList By this point, I think we will see them in Rush Duel rather than the standard game, which makes me wonder if they are going to make Catapult Turtle a Legend Card.
@@jsb6975.ah.crapbaskets I always forgot his name, the anime didn't gave him enough focus, I mean, he was overshadowed by his own monster in his duel. Zeman the ape king.
Y'all need to do top ten weirdest monster type on monsters in yugioh, like dark crusader whose warrior type but qualifies more of a fiend/zombie than warrior
fun fact about number 22 zombiestein, the fact that it cannot attack female monsters is a reference to the monster of frankenstein's in-novel behavior. another fact, this time about galaxy queen, is that its appearance is based on the user's desire to follow and keep up with his mother's expactations
Also, i wanted to say this: y'all think these are weird? Allow me to indtroduce you to the heraldic xyz's Heraldry patriarch is a... weird thingy with a... mishapen ring around it, King-genom is... a deer with long hair? And Heraldry crest is a weird ass daemon without legs... you were saying?
I gotta say, I love Mr.Toptenlist. But he always seems so much more entertaining to watch when he has his two best co hosts with him, they play off each other so well.
Thanks! A big part of why I like making videos is getting to hang out and joke around with my friends when doing it, so I'm always happy to hear people enjoy our antics. I made the channel with the intention to parody the standard formula of a serious commentator by having my cohosts contrast me, so I'm glad they're fulfilling their role as we intended!
You should have added Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark to the honorable list since is is a combination of 3 or 4 main characters monsters that represent their friendship or bond in the manga if I remember correctly !
Thank you for showcasing the majority of my original Banish deck. D.D.Warrior, D.D. Warrior Lady, and D.D. Assailant. Loved them paired with Gren Maju De Eiza.
I genuently don't get why Toad is even an honorable mention Just because the name change is weird? What? The Frog names were all puns, so the english localizers also made some of their names puns, like Treeborn Frog or Roanin Toadin I don't get what's so weird about my boy that he deserves to be mentioned
100% agree. You're saying what I said in my "Top Ten Weirdest Translated Yu-Gi-Oh Card Names" list. No one goes after D.3.S. Frog either. The only reason he's an honorable mention is because people generally consider the Frog/Toad pun translations to be weird, so I discuss them. He was the only Frog/Toad that was an Xyz, so that's why he was the only one from the archetype mentioned. We just wanted to make Mochi jokes, so we leaned more into it's original name. Check out our list on weird name translations list to get our full thoughts on Toadally Awesome!
Dude, i totally forgot there's another superdreadnought, i only remembered Gustav Max and juggernaught liebe because those are the only ones you see online
wait wait wait youre telling me konami didnt just steal from bleach, but also from megaman star force? thats the plot, avatars that posses people to drive their motives, harming others to their goal wait thats also ladybug But starforce came first 0-0 who invented that trope?
We need support for clowns. I just made a deck that can hold off somebody for at least 24 turns and if we made a full support system they can become an annoyance locked out. (much older format I was able to hold at least 42 turns before I lost. Absolutely frustrating for the opponent.)
Gem-Knight Pearl at least works with Gem-Knight support like Gem-Enhancement so that you can bring him back really easily, and he's got more ATK than Crystal for that purpose. Ah, Baby Tiragon. As cute as it is useless. OH MY GOD, CAT SHARK IS ADORABLE!
IIRC, "Toadally Awesome" went by "Treatoad" up until "Toadally Awesome" was confirmed for the translated name, so it's english name was always a pun. One can still find posts using "Treatoad" to this day.
It’s one of the cards that if you didn’t follow the OCG news when it was revealed ya wouldn’t notice - because like you said: It’s unusable. So, people probably stopped talking once the novelty of having “100000” in the title or thumbnail died down.
Awesome video!!!! I just found your channel due to a yt recommend. I'm subscribing because of yugi top vídeos but you others vids are also really good Nice content :3
Thank you! We like to rotate our video topics since we also like Fighting Games, anime, and just unique things in media in general, so hope you enjoy everything! Regardless, Yugioh videos are pretty frequent on the channel.
I remember the Galaxy Queen episode of Zexal, some of it at least. It was stupid, like 99.9% of Zexal. But basically, Fuya being pushed hard by his mom to be character Robin the card mind controls him to think he actually was the character. When he duels Yuma, the duel follows an actual episode of the show where all the other heroes got mind controlled to be evil so it's him playing the episode's villain and Yuma effectively being the hero.
So the idea with the vanilla Xyz idea was that in very early xyz era was that most xyz monsters where lol statted and the idea that a very easy to summon beat stick in rank 4 tool box was amazingly good.
5:18 Xyz monsters in the anime are seen to be an alibi for ascension spiritually for that of normal duel monsters, with it even being stated that xyz monsters are not limited by duel monsters, so to me it makes sense why this is the endpoint of his story.
Yeah. XYZ is literally spiritual ascension like when Yuma and Astral XYZ to become Zexal and how they are able to rank-up later on. They literally had the whole thing with Astral World's leader and his obsession with "ranking up" and therefore ascending even further.
Gem knight pearl was a staple for a while. Was useful at the time for a large beatstick when you needed one. Also keep in mind this was at a time when there were few xyz.
Tuner Monster + Monster on the field In order to synchro the levels of the monsters used must equal the level of the synchro monster. The classic example in 5’ds was Junk Synchron (3 Star) with Speed Warrior (2 Star) to summon Junk Warrior (Lv5) Really it’s simple once you realize it has to be exact. It’s why so many synchro cards have effects that allow levels to be manipulated such as Junk Changer who can target 1 card in the field (yours or your opponents) and increase their level by 1 or decrease it by 1
Baby tarigon was lowkey my favorite rank 1 in the early days when XYZ's were released. Kurivolt to steal matirials, Then go into Baby tarigon for a BM move(assuming i already used my slacker magician up, i was playing Agents, so, yea.) it was my favorite move, right next to going into Number 88, just for the damage.
The manga effect for Zombiestein in a sense is similar to a mechanic in Sacred Cards/Reshef of Destruction where the little details of the cards matter. One really good card to slap onto the opponent's side with Spaceway Octobypass is Lava Golem. Dextra ended up losing to Vetrix, so it wouldn't matter if Katherine was in the WCT.
All right. Now i thinking about "Top 10 Characters with Shadow Manipulation Powers in Fiction": 10# Allessi - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure He has a Stand named Set that can reverse his victim's age whoever steps on it. 9# Dr. Facilier - Princess and a Frog His own shadow has its own personality since "The Shadow Man" is a voodoo expert. 8# Shade - DC Comics 7# Gecko Moriah - One Piece He eat the Shadow - Shadow fruit wich it's allows him to control his shadow and steal the others' shadows. 6# Eddie - Guilty Gear He's accompanied with Zeto-1 the shadow. 5# Pride - Fullmetal Alchemist 4# Pitch Black - Rise of the Guardians He can literally turn into his own shadow. 3# Mouse Witch - The Nutcracker and the Mouseking She is stuck in a mouse trap and now she's communicating whit Mouse king and his servents with her shadow. 2# Merie - Skullgirls During a second phase with her, she's attacking with a giant shadow that looks like Mother's. Honorable Mentions# Pulpo - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Well. Since his stand has shadow abilities. It's like Black Sabbath is intaierlly a shadow. Phantom Ganon - Legends of Zelda: Wind Maker. His sorda like Ganondorf's shadow with changed details. 1# Fumikage Tokoyami - My Hero Academia He's posesing a shadow quirk.
Octobypass is a pretty straight forward card. On battle phase, you detach (that’s any battle phase, yours or opponents), and if they attack you directly, they are forced to give you the card. It says “give card to turn player opppnent.” So it’s worded that it can be used on opponents turn.
The real question is: what does Zombie-Stein do to Yubel? Because seriously, Yubel is (despite the localizations) clearly a Mystic Hermaphrodite type of monster, so they're both or possibly neither, and certainly work out to be something in-between.
Yeah. Yubel was originally male when they were human and then the way in which as they keep leveling up to the next Yubel monster, they gain more draconic features and stuff just screams that to me for some reason. It may be due to Zorc (think that's his name. I mean Yami Bakura/Thief King Bakura's creator/true self) and the way in which he has the "dragon" head.
