Thank you so much for posting this video! I'm half - maybe more - Polish myself. My paternal grandfather escaped to the U.S. just before WWII (even though my family isn't Jewish they were still at risk for persecution). Out of respect for the U.S. my grandparents raised my father and his two sisters to speak English (my grandfather spoke a total of 5 languages himself) but I was lucky to have learned from my grandfather how to 'count to ten' when I was a toddler myself. I wish I had a chance to spend more time with my grandparents during my childhood. Now my elderly dad is more ill at his age (thanks to the neurological complication from his bout with measles that he had before the introduction of the vaccine) and I'm the only last living member of my family branch. Even though I've been married I'll never feel apart from my 12-letter '-ski' Polish surname especially as my family's youngest representative (which I have remained to be all of my life). Anyway, I so hope to visit Poland one day. I've done everything to represent this beautiful country well in the U.S. (especially defending myself against the stupid Polish jokes starting at a very young age). I take mostly after my Polish side too. I 'traced' my other half - German - to the 10th century when the region my German ancestors resided was actually called Silesia, an incorporated part of Poland. So depending on the time period one could argue I'm full Polish. All in all, as an American I just hope I'm well received by the people of Poland when I do get a chance to visit. I would even consider moving there if Poland will have me.

I wish I could have seen Poland while I was in the army in Germany in the 80's. I'm so glad the iron curtain is gone!
