A lot of people... me included... as soon as it was announced that Zamperla was doing it predicted that there was a good chance Cedar Point was going to end up with a multi-million dollar piece of yard art. I just feared from the get go that this was just too much for Zamperla to handle. Its not that they're a bad company, its just that this particular ride was WAY beyond their capabilities. Add to that, this was a brand new prototype train they'd never used before.. It was just a recipe for disaster. I think the ride will be great if they can just ever work it out. The problem is, they've botched the opening so horribly, it's been down for SO long, and they're not giving us any info whatsoever. ALL of that added together is a WHOLE lot of negative press and chatter. By not telling anybody what the hell's going on... they have FUELED all this speculation and negativity. They've lost nearly all the positive impact this huge investment should have made for the park. They just fumbled and squandered it.
@@MalrusOSC I agree with that MOSTLY... However, there are two major points that are 100 percent on Cedar Point. Number 1) Snubbing Intamin and going with Zamperla for this project... Knowing they had never done anything even nearly this huge or complex. and Number 2) Their lack of willingness to communicate what the actual problems are and what they're doing about it to the public. Any time you just refuse to give out information, it automatically looks like you have something to hide. I understand that theres not much Cedar Point can do about the problems that have occured AFTER they hired Zamperla, that's on Zamperla... but the lack of communication, that has allowed all this negativity to grow, is 100 percent on Cedar Point.
@@Frankenberry. ALL SO TRUE !!! CP has lost all the buzz and excitement over this ride opening that a lot of people including me just don’t care if it ever opens or not !
"We are accepting bids to reimagine our ride that nearly killed someone." "Why, of course we'll use your inexperienced company because you're the cheapest!" "What could possibly go wrong?"
It's just another evaluation of what needs to be done with this Zamperla Flop!!! There's officially 1 more month left for Summer. Tony Clark, Duuuuh, This isn't going to be a WHOLE SUMMER THING for the downtown of Top Thrill 2. Uh-huh!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣‼️
This is a hot mess. A total disaster. They don't know what is wrong. Zamperla should have never been selected for this project. At this point tear it down and replace it down the line. I think they have disappointed so many people. Everyone is just over it and doesn't care anymore.
Shut up zamperla took a chance on their first big ride it didn't pan out what ride hasn't had problems in their first year. You want a boring ass ride that works from day one ride b&m
This whole thing is a shit show. It's not gonna open, not this late in the season. This is gonna be the 2025 premier ride for them. I bet Intamin is laughing their ass off. Cedar Fair is kicking themselves in the nuts right now. Gonna have to kiss and make up with some of these manufacturers very soon. There is only so much love to go around. Lol
lol, Zamperla is responding daily to Cedar Point, anyone believing CP is awaiting responses is a fool. The investment, the embarrassment, the "folks" at CP, their hair is on fire!!!!, and if you believe Tony Clark not knowing, you are a fool. It's the largest debacle!!!!!!, the fact they will not explain the issue/issues is pathetic!
Once I ride, i won't care about the downtime as long as it doesn't maintain its problematic behavior. I guess it's the nice thing about being new to coasters, I have others to conquer! 😉
@cameronbrown3861 a good park to start at is Kings Island. There are some less intense rides, like Adventure Express, as well as some more intense rides, like Diamondback, Orion, and Banshee
@Westkid3057 hey, thanks for the info. I just rode Magnum, Gatekeeper and Maverick at cp. I also covered all at Michigan Adventure. I have Kings island next year. I'm itching for a giga coaster lol.
I have vacation days for the rest of the week. I think I'll go up there every day just to spy on this thing. I don't know why I'm so invested in the saga of this ride.
I thought we were supposed to be getting rid of all the downtime by the time it reopens it’s gonna have as much downtime as top drill dragster cedar point wasted their money on this should’ve went Inman
CP did say they will look at Season Passes on a case-by-case basis. Please let me know if I am wrong. I suppose something was initially announced when they announced the closer, but I can't find it. Maybe it was edited, or it's too late now.
Looks like wiring going on the train for sensors a few people snapped pics earlier.. intriguing stuff here, wondering what the tests are for st this point 😂😂
I been waiting the whole summer now it's too late they will more than likely wait until 2025 to reopen I suspect at this point to allow much more testing and not rush it back for the end of the season.
I think it will open this year. If there still working on it, and no announcement yet that it will open 2025, they have to belive there is a chance to get it open this year. I hope it does so I can ride it when I go back in a month !:)
I love how people are just giving up on this. "Oh my god, it's a disaster" Yeah, how often do rides have problems their first year, right out of the gate? How often do they scrap it and abandon it immediately?
It's not a brand new ride. It's a re-hash on a structure that was not designed for what they tried to make it do. If it does not run soon and for a long time, they need to cut their losses and be grateful for the money the original earned them.
At this point they are throwing darts to see what sticks..I honestly think they don't know how to fix it,specifically the trains may need to be redesigned but CP being CP is leaning on them to fix the existing trains. If they knew what was wrong and how to fix it the ride would be up by now
All of the trains were out with seats in. And they had someone working under silver. There was also a worker that opened the kiosk for fast lane/wait times today
I dont know. He kept opening it to check some settings of some sort. When he closed it, he used the touch screen. Then he opened it again and adjusted something else. He did that for about 15 minutes. My thought is why bother doing that if it might not open until 2025 unless it's getting close to being ready
@@SomeGuy-jh6xzsounds to me like they are changing the price of single use fast lane…although I would think this alone means they are going to open it. Why would they even bother with the kiosk if they were not going to reopen the ride
I am thinking Labor day weekend. If they are changing the price, i'm sure it would be the most expensive one in the park. Not to mention the line would be unbearable. And Halloweekend will be packed just to ride this if they open it. I'll have to plan a whole other tril
@@SomeGuy-jh6xz and also lots of people won’t be able to cross the bridge into the park because the park will be “full capacity”. It happened once a few years ago
Remember when Roller Coaster Corporation of America was the cheap choice for Paramount. We see how that went. Going cheap with roller coasters and you pay the price.
It doesn’t matter what they do at this point! Stop worrying about bigger, faster, and bring back the atmosphere of a park for everyone. Pricing and quality have gone down the drain! Stop being greedy and the public will come back
I'm so frustrated. Thought for sure if we booked in August it would realistically be up. Now we leave Thursday and there's no way. Haven't been since 2005. What a letdown.
Unfortunately for me even if it does open for Labor Day weekend or even anytime during Hallow weekends I’ve lost my chance to ride it do to other weekend priorities during late summer early fall
I spoke to someone at cedar point who knew alot about tt2 and she said that they knew what the problem was, but they had no idea how to fix it. She said it’s most likely down till 2025, and they will also probably try to sue zamperla
No way will it open this season. From a business point of view, it'll be their new ride for 2025. This is true even if they have the fix identified. We should call it "6 day dragster!"
FYI .. IM one of those who still haven't visited... This is the first year in about 5 years I've not bought a season pass (kings island) because there's just nothing other than cedar point opening top thrill 2 to justify it. A baby boomerang ain't gonna do it for me. I may go next month sometime if it hasn't reopened.... Cuz if I go .. then they reopen right after I'm gonna be pissed. It's too long a drive for me to just turn around and go BACK to cedar point if they open after my visit. So .. if it's not open by mid September I may go on .. or may not go at all and just wait til next year. I may never buy another season pass. It makes me sick to think about putting money in six flags pocket
So u need a park to open a major thrill coaster in order to justify buying a season pass? As if either parks coaster collection isn’t good enough to justify buying a season pass already. Grow up lol
@@muffinknight8101 If I'm gonna keep going back year after year... Yes... I need something new. The better question is why what I need is any of your business? Then wanna talk about telling somebody to grow up. 😂 Thats rich.
just my opinion. but i think when all these things added/welded they will see what works. then it will have to be fabricated as a one piece solution. after the lawsuit i cant see any insurance carrier covering top thrill with pieces welded on it. this is the reason it is being tested with no one in the park.
Honestly idc if they have to run only one train it’s better than waiting a whole year for the two other trains to be finished even if the line will be long bc of running only the silver train they should give the guest free fast lane plus to ride it for making us wait 3 or more months of downtown yikes
