I do want to point out the the real Top Thrill Dragster does have 5 trains on it. The station is a front/back dual loading station, which is probably why it seems odd here. My only issue with the ride is that the trains should be swapped out with the in-game Formula Rossa-style ones. If this was put together before that was a feature of the game, than I get that. That's really the only thing holding this back from being a spot-on recreation. Good work!
Yes. I thought it ran 6, but Johnny mentions 5 trains in the video and I wanted to keep it consistent. My point really was that for as awkward as it looks in Planet Coaster, having that many trains is in fact accurate.
Thanks for pointing that out. I don't personally have Planet Coaster, but I do know train-swapping is a thing. It does seem odd that Zenith and Formula Rossa are incompatible.
Cedar point is my home park, so I can assure you that this is not the correct layout of iron dragon. The ride is way better than that and is actually fun
Beautiful recreation. I’ve personally ridden this ride myself & I’d have to say this provides a similar expereince when contrasted to the real life coaster. Phenomanal job!
The trees, I also agree. The cars, as ridiculous as that may be, Top Thrill Dragster actually has six trains running and there was that amount when I went to Cedar Point a few years ago. Yeah, pretty ridiculous amount for a stratocoaster (at max, 3 would be best with busy lines but I don't know what Cedar Point was thinking with 6 trains).
TDPNeji I know that about the cars but your talking live attendants dispatch versus planet coaster. When you got live attendants you got one on track one on launch waiting and one in station loading unloading that makes it go faster planco has it one in station than it waits til one hits breaks til it launches.
Dank Melon did a really great job with Top Thrill Dragster. Kind of a buzz-kill that part of the thrill of Top Thrill Dragster is the famous "unintentional" random roll-backs that happen once in a while. It's a shame we can't recreate that in Planet Coaster- That'd be a blast! :D I know Iron Dragon was only supposed to be gorgeous background scenery, but it could have been very ride-able with just a little more attention to the foliage. It definitely could have used a better landscaper. It looked like a really great ride, but it was hard to tell- I was to busy pulling splinters out of my eyeballs. LOL... :)
Patrick Smith this dank guy didn’t create this, I did and he did a hack job of using my recreation as his own. Here is the link to the original I made and not some destroyed version of mine. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e_lGVuriKt0.html
Except this is my recreation that was ruined by whoever this guy is and then claims it as his. I spent weeks on this just for someone else to get credit.
4:40 - Funny thing is, there is actually a ridiculous amount of trains on Top Thrill Dragster when I went to Cedar Point. I think it was that much active when I went there 2 years ago (I haven't went on Top Thrill Dragster but I have seen a couple of unnecessary trains). EDIT: Yeah, by default, there are *six trains* with *five cars* each, carrying a total of *18 riders per train* (4 seats per car but I think the first car has 2 seats).
If you go to the official Republica video of that song over 1/2 of the comments are about the Top Thrill Dragster and their official use of that song. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JgffRW1fKDk.html
I'm going to put this in my Cedar Point I'm working on, and when I get done with it (which will NOT be soon, lemme tell ya that!) I'll submit it to you! As for this not being a blueprint, well, I'll work on that. Probably will get rid of the heck load of trees, Iron Dragon, and the paths, then turn it in to a blueprint
Great job on TTD! CP is my home park and the TTD is absolutely NAILED. The iron dragon? Not so much. The track layout is similar but is much more drawn out and less compact than the real life one. There are also some fog/fountain effects in the water ( granted whether they want to work or not is up for debate ) . Definitely get rid of or shrink those trees down a bit, and raise the station because the station is up much higher than ground level. I understand if it's a WIP but just some advice if the creator comes by and looks at these comments !
Ahhh, the one coaster I chickened out when I went to Cedar Point two years ago. But honestly, I kind of wished I gone on it. Iron Dragon was my second coaster at Cedar Point (my first one was Magnum 200-XL) but there are not THAT many trees surrounding it (no trees to hit you).
The first thing I noticed is Al's hat shop was missing just behind the top hat of the Dragster. You can see the word "Al's" spelled out in roofing tiles from above. At least you could back in 2004 when I was at the park last.
I can assure you this isn’t that accurate. Track layout does not feature a layover sharp turn like kings a ka does. The trains are the ones featured on the formula Rossa type track in planet coaster. Paint scheme ends way short. It actually follows up the whole top hat lift. Iron dragon is way better in real life. Track layout is off a bit in this.
I’ve actually been working on a entire park recreation over the past year, and for the record this is my recreation that was ruined in so many ways. My recreation is much more accurate I can’t believe someone else is taking credit for my work. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e_lGVuriKt0.html
Because there is 3 one at Cedar Point named Top Thrill Dragster, one at Thorpe Park named Stealth, and one at Six Flags Great Adventure named Kingda Ka, which is the tallest out of the 3
