Great video 👍🏻 Additional tips: 1) Avoid withdrawing cash from the ATM with a credit card 2) Bank staff often get incentives for selling products like Line of Credit, etc. These come with high interest rates, so don't let anyone tantalize you with a financial burden you really don't need as it's not easy getting out of high interest loans!
Please can you make a video on how to actually come in with your money from your country to Canada, etc. The process with your bank, do you come in with it cash or would open a domiciliary account,... Please help.
The big 5 banks have newcomer friendly banking packages. RBC, TD, BMO, Scotiabank and CIBC. You get free banking for one year. You can check each one to see if they have cash incentive campaigns going on for these accounts when you land and get some free cash.
Thanks so much Feyi. My concern has always been how do one come with more than 10k dollars? I have you are not allowed to come with more than that amount. If I have say $40k, how do I move it from Nigeria to Canada? Thanks and warm regards.
Thanks Feyi for this video. So when one open the US dollar in canada account. When i want to receive US dollar from a friend, do i have to forward my email or the US account number?
There are different ways to receive USD from your friend depending on where they are. Interac e transfer does not support USD transfers for now. If you both bank at the same bank, they can go to the branch and do a transfer to your account from theirs. They’ll need your branch number and your account number. Or they can wire you USD from anywhere in the world if you give them your account number, address, swift code and other wire transfer details
