Shadow outfits were so disappointing, I don’t know how they managed to spoil just a tank top, tank tops in Survivor and RoTTR were gorgeous! Even in Siberia I always switched from jacket to tank top
I have to agree with you about the Survivor outfits. I don't hold against the gaming industry for wanting to put their female protagonists in less sexualized outfits that have no practical value. Still, as someone who LOVES fashion, most of Lara's Survivor outfits don't flatter her. I think people think that women who wear flattering outfits look sexualized when it's the opposite. They can make a person look dignified. Lara doesn't need to adventure in a bikini. Just give her outfits that show she cares about her looks, just like in the past two timelines. Here's hoping that Unified Lara will demonstrate that.
You're right about the shorts always wonder why they weren't in the reboot also I think she looks good in a dress one of my favorite outfits in the reboot is the tribal dress not the one you described
the reboot trilogy outfits as a whole were disappointing but absolutely nothing in Shadow looked good. if i had to choose though i think the Valiant Explorer from Rise was the most Lara Croft esque
It’s like the outfit designers in the survivor trilogy wanted to take everything that made Lara an icon. The clothes matter. There’s a reason the simple but iconic outfits are still regularly cos played and only like 1 outfit from the survivor trilogy is ever done
The problem with most of the outfits was it being too busy! Sometimes it could work but definitely not for an action stealth game! Also she must be really hot it a lot of those! Especially the furry one lol!
I actually love Tomb Raider 2013's “Demolition” outfit. The mechanic jumpsuit gives me a Sniper Wolf and Eva vibe from MGS series lol. SOTTR’s “Reptile Hide” and “Brocken” outfits have great concepts (I love tactical Lara) but executed horribly. The former’s green tone is too light and the latter has way too many slings. All tribal outfits in SOTTR are just TRASH.
My first part was the fourth (the last revelation). I remember how for a long time I could not understand the riddle with fire and scarabs on the floor. In general, this game is quite long, compared to other parts, there are many levels, many locations, but this part is also interesting because there is Egypt and Greece, various tombs, not simple riddles. (Even a dice game, where the figures move themselves, the outcome of the game depends on luck)) As for the fifth part, I liked it, my favorite location is the Black Island, where Lara is still young. This location is very atmospheric, mystical. It's a pity that it is very short. My favorite part is probably the second,(Tomb Raider : The Dagger of Xian) although I also really liked the reboot of the first part. It's a pity that the next part of Tomb Raider Legend is more like a shooter. Regarding "Underwolrd", it seemed to me some kind of gray, gloomy, but I agree, the music there is amazing. If there was a remake of your favorite part "Angel of Darkness", I would play), there is a good setting, cities, the Louvre, various buildings, tombs, Prague... the truth is I don't like the levels in the gardens (where Kristina Boaz is), I don't like the monsters there, and I don't like the mental hospital)
I understand why you don't like the mental hospital levels, they have a different vibe, it kinda looks like Resident Evil, which I don't mind because I like both games :)
Just look at the last three attempts at TR games and you get a complete list. Not coincidentally, you would get the same result doing the ugliest Lara models list. Not to mention the worst Lara's portrayal in games list..
I don't know what would by my top worst TR outfits (there's a lot to choose from!) but probably more than one of these would be on there. I was actually kind of surprised by your number 1 pick! I kind of liked that outfit due to the furry hood and the blue accents, although I do see your point. You are to be commended on deliberately NOT picking all of your choices from Rise or Shadow--there's some real low hanging fruit in those games! Regarding Shadow, it was almost like they were afraid to make the outfits look attractive (maybe to avoid the "scantily-clad jungle woman" image), and so unfortunately what we got WAS just kind of shapeless and/or ugly.
The outfit 8 is too grey and not really my type, the 7 in Legends if it was black maybe it could have made a good difference, also all the outfits that cover Lara's Head, i really don't like those🤔
