I like people piecing together Sam Jackson's character, even sussing out the Uncle Ruckus connection. He's the archvillain, and if you saw it opening weekend, you didn't even know Samuel L was in it.
@@scesfizia he meant people didn’t know Samuel L Jackson was in the movie before they went and saw it. They did a good job hiding his appearance before the film was released.
Saw this in theaters when it first came out. One of the best theater experiences and movies i have ever seen. The crowd was amazing. We all reacted the same way. Tarantino never dissapoints.
Leo kept struggling to say the n word in any of the scenes at the start, saying it was horrid to say, Samuel apparently retorted 'motherf***er it's a normal Tuesday for us' and it helped Leo play the part
The scene in the library when Stephen reveals to Candie what's really going on, lays bare the true power dynamic at Candieland, where Stephen is actually the preeminent figure.
I watched this in theaters when it came out, with an audience that was 60 percent black. Let me tell you, I have never witnessed a more involved and funny reaction from an audience before. They were so immersed into it. For once, I didn't mind hearing people talk at certain points. The audience commentary actually enhanced the viewing experience. It was probably the number one moviegoing experience I ever had in a cinema. At least top ten.
@@Cutiepie-mf4ht I don't remember if there was a reaction to that, but the whole audience was loving the film throughout. There were no racist reactions, if that is what you are suggesting. Everyone was respectful, especially during the serious moments.
What a scene. I can't help but wonder how many takes it took. The actor opposite Leo in the carriage looks like he had to hold back laughter several times 😅
I love seeing the black reactors openly laughing and understanding that it’s just a movie. Meanwhile most white reactors felt like they were at fault for any of this shit and the movie is a window to the “good old days”. Nah. Relax y’all. None of that shit was your fault and it’s just a movie so laugh at all the crazy shit that happens in the movie. That’s why Tarantino wrote the movie that way.
@@AJimiDigginKat Sure, but is it really so prudish in the US now? I can remember back in 94 i was the first and only time there (really beautiful country). The people and the public were a lot "looser"
I find it really interesting that you had more black reactors reacting to this particular film clip than any other film clips before. I also find it interesting that even though the N-word was bleeped out, no one was offended when a black actor said the word, unlike when a white actor says the word. That tells me the word itself isn't offensive but who says the word.
A white actor does say the word. Numerous times. In this and other films and have not seen a lot of push back when in the context of the film. Also most agree that the Sam L character is horrific and many dislike him far more than the Leo Dicaprio character. Lastly, most ethnic and minority groups have internalized negative connotations and words used to describe them but still will not allow outsiders to use it to belittle them. A good example is in film "The Departed" Matt Damon's character uses a known derogatory term jokingly to describe his fellow Irish American police officers. I as someone not of that ethnic group would never ever use that word but Matt could.
You appear to be confusing real life with movies, and tiny segments of an entire movie reaction with a complete person, which, ironically, is bordering on a discriminatory mindset. You might want to contemplate that dichotomy.
Black americans had wht people using that word against them for almost 300 yrs,so,yes it's the color of the skin ( mainly whts ) who says it.Plus, add all the lynchings, destroying black communities to the ground ( over 300 recorded incidents ) boiling them to death also, when innocent black citizens were hung-whts would cut off body parts for prizes-finger,ears,etc,etc,,skin too used for leather, black women were routinely graped by wht men-if it went to trial an all wht jury would find them innocent. This is america's history and legacy. Are you actually surprised they don't like being called that word by whts ???
The bleeping has nothing to do with the reactions. That's done for RU-vid TOS and monetization. It probably isn't your place to decree whether or not the word is offensive.
You can tell the first guy is damn near in the sunken place lmfao….not because he’s with a white woman…but because he doesn’t understand what’s meant to be funny and what’s Buck dancing in that movie 😂 their reaction to Django is borderline cringe from how much they don’t get what’s happening in every other scene.
What really makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE at all, is any American who still doesn't support him, unless they hate their own country. AND yet, how u said, there they are.
@@dennisblake3707 What's it like to be in a cult when your leader is laughed at by every developed country on earth, except authoritarians and corrupt leaders? Which should tell you everything you need to know, yet here you are, simping for a clown
