The Antonov An-225 will make its comeback. We'll just have to wait. Also, another big plane, the Hughes H-4 Hercules is the biggest flying boat in the world. It had a wingspan of 97.82ft, behind the Stratolaunch.
@@CRAIGKMSBISMARCKTIRPITZ533 There’s a half finished fuselage from a second model, they will salvage useable parts from the destroyed an225 and use them to finish the second an225. It’s already been proposed.
That’s just the length of the 9th variant of the 777. You forget to mention all the previous 8 are shorter length and all have shorter wingspan, fuselage width and are 200 tonnes lighter. I won’t bother mentioning the 747 which is also similarly lob sided towards the A380 and not in just size
if its by length the 747-8 is the one in second place, because it is currently the airliner with the longest main body only slightly shorter than the main body of the AN 225
from google.."Why did Airbus A340 fail? Why it failed. The fuel consumption of the A340 was its Achilles heel. The upgrading of ETOPS for 180 minutes meant the A340 was competing against the behemoth that was the Boeing 777 for market share." it was a thirsty bitch
It’s one of the worst thrust to weight ratios ever made for modern aircraft. The 600 got new engines and was still underpowered. 300 was danger to fly on takeoff.
@@Boeing.797 Indeed, but the model in this video is the shorter -300ER, no matter what the creator pleads, and it’s fuselage diameter shouldn’t be larger than the A380 or 747-8i
@@caljucotcas Thanks but the link only shows the latest 777 version to be longer but not larger than the A380 in terms of wingspan, fuselage, engines, etc etc. No offence intended but your video is entitled the top 15 largest plane size comparison not the longest.
Great video to see size comparisons. Did not know the Boeing 747 and 777 were bigger than the Airbus 380 as you have here in this order. That's surprising!
@@faronanderson2536 Check out a photo of the two planes side by side taken from above. The difference is obvious. The wingspan of the A380 is almost double that of the B747.
the long upper cabin 747 wasn't a major thing, only KLM's Stretched Upper Deck Boeing 747-200s was a known thing..otherwise the standard first class upper deck was the only major variant.
An aircraft in straight and level flight is acted upon by four forces: lift, gravity, thrust and drag. The opposing forces balance each other: Lift equals gravity, and thrust equals drag. Thrust: The force that moves an airplane forward through the air. Thrust is created by a propeller or a jet engine.
Nice video-Would like to see the fuselage length and wing-span for each airplane, similar to the ship video...Also, the C-5 Galaxy is far larger than a Boeing 777......
The scale of the aircraft in this video is a mess. Why is the BelugaXL so much smaller than the A340, despite being the same length and having the same original fuselage diameter. Why is the AN-124 so much smaller than the AN-225, which once again shares the same fuselage diameter. Why is the 777 bigger than the 747 and A380? I am well aware of your choice to use length as a comparison metric, however that doesn’t require using this mess of varying model scales. In addition, you have claimed that you have used the 777-9’s length to place it above the 747-8 in size, yet you’ve chosen to use the 777-300ER model. Sadly, this is one of the minor mistakes in the video, in comparison to the ones listed above. *Stop misleading your viewers.* EDIT: The 747-400 LCF ‘Dreamlifter’ shouldn’t be half the size of the 747-8 Intercontinental. They’re both 747s!
@@billhosko7723 I'd say his teeth have plenty of grip. This vid was a pointless exercise, and even the fact he was judging size by length is not pointed out at the beginning, but only retrospectively once the corrections came in.........
I think this is a little wrong. The biggest plane is the Antonov but the airbus a380 is not that small, plus the longest plane in the world is the Boeing 777-9 and I think that the tallest plane in the world is either Boeing 777-9 or airbus a380-800
The Hughes H-4 Hercules is a prototype strategic airlift flying boat designed and built by the Hughes Aircraft Company. Intended as a transatlantic flight transport for use during World War II, it was not completed in time to be used in the war.
It should have been more specified,, I mean all B777 before the B777-X is smaller than the B747-8i, same goes with B747 to A380, B747-SP and 400 are shorter than A380 only the 8i version is longer than A380
It is only slightly shorter, but it is much taller with a much wider wing span. So in volume the A380 is significantly bigger. Maybe the title of the video would be more accurate if it would specify "Top 15 longest airplanes".
