I graduated from HS decades ago and do not need to take the AP but I did enjoy the compendious and insightful lesson into our government. Thank you and cheers. P.S. In 4 decades mandatory spending went from 25% to 70%! I guess taxes will go up in the future and I should focus on my Roth IRA, LOL.

my first year teaching AP Gov and these videos are incredibly helpful! Basically watch his videos, write notes, and use my notes in class to give lecture! LOL. My kids seem to be learning, but yeah, thanks Carey, you're awesome man!!!

I took AP gov virtually last year and it was so overwhelming. Your videos helped me profusely; I scored a 5 on my exam!! I want to thank you Mr. LaManna for helping me receive that 5. If I can get a perfect score from just watching his videos and some practice at home you guys can too!!!

Just found this, thank you for this. These are the key points that I need for my test, not my teacher's all out info burst, too much unnecessary info that won't even be in the test. 😂

Does the Speaker of the House have to be from the majority party just like committee chairs?
@CareyLaManna
@CareyLaManna 4 года назад
yes, same idea. The entire House votes but as long as the majority party sticks together it'll be someone from the majority party

[Article. I. Section. 1. All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.] That’s the power to make all the collective decisions of the States as the Union governed by legislative processes to reach a majority consensus of all the states as the Union. There is no confirmation or ratification in the constitution of the United States, because they are after an agreement has been made, and by and with are before and during, not after, advice means the States assembled in the Senate set all the parameters of of all negotiations and determine what constitutes an agreement, then when the requirements of those parameters are reached, then they empower the President to sign that agreement in the Name of the United States of America, no ratification necessary. And when it comes to appointments, advice means they deliberate the qualifications and suitability of a number of nominees, a number which they require through senate rules for their proceedings, and yes, deliberating and making a consensus choice for appointments is a legislative proceeding, then the States vote on those candidates provided by the President, 1 vote per State , and a majority of all the States is necessary to the choice, then the president is empowered to appoint that person. I won’t even try to debunk your misconceptions about how congress is assembled, how it functions, and the roles and responsibilities of civil officers, but parties are not members of congress, parties are not apportioned representation and suffrage to participate in the legislative processes of congress and vote to achieve a majority consensus of all the States in congress. You people are confused and deluded, and it’s infuriating that you are teaching these fallacies as fact!

what rule does the House of Representatives have in order to prevent a Representative from being able to attach a rider to a bill?
@CareyLaManna
@CareyLaManna 3 года назад
Little late, but it's the germaneness requirement, meaning that everything (talk and amendments to bills) must be on topic. A rider is a non-germane amendment.
