Chcel by som vám predstaviť Topoľčiansky hrad, ktorý sa nachádza pri malej dedinke Podhradie. Na malom parkovisku sa dá odstaviť auto a asi 10 minút chôdze na hrad, kde vás tak okrem hradu čaká aj nádherný výhľad na hornú Nitru. Hrad to síce nie je veľký, ale pôsobí ako z rozprávky.
V areáli hradu sa dodnes zachovali jeho charakteristické časti.Veľká hranolovita stupňovito ukočená veža dáva hradu vlastný charakter, pod ktorou sa nachádza malé elipsovité anfiteatrum. Tento kráľovský hrad z 13. storočia sa stal strediskom topoľčianskeho hradného panstva. V 15. storočí ho obsadili husiti, v čase tureckých vpádov plnil dôležitú obrannú funkciu. Začiatkom 18. storočia ho počas Rákócziho povstania silne poškodili cisárske vojská. Hoci ho neskôr opravili, postupne začal pustnúť. Vo veži sa nachádza malá expozícia k dejinám hradu.

At the beginning of the 18th century, during the Rákóczi uprising, it was heavily damaged by imperial troops. Although it was later repaired, it gradually began to loosen. In the tower there is a small exposition on the history of the castle.
