Thanks for sharing the information about so many books - shows your love for physics and good books. Glad you finished off with Feynman ! A good intro to his writings/lectures is 'Six Easy Pieces' - a real classic. You should have added - The Berkeley Courses (you did show one of the books in the series by Nobel laureate Purcell) ; the Landau & Lifshitz series and R Shankar's Yale Course. Great job !
Bhaiya, as you know that between NSEP and INPHO, there is little time to cover books written by Morin sir, Griffiths sir, Purcell sir etc. So, if a student is really serious about going into OCSC, should he/she start reading Morin's or that level books before NSEP after covering basics from say HCV and PG? And also, are JEE Adv. papers to be practised before NSEP?
A Comprehensive list of books reviewed. Also appreciate that you have read so many books. To understand the word comprehensive we need to see your video. Suggestion - You need a mike
Hello Bhaiya. Although, I am not aiming for Olympiads but I am enthusiastic about physics and want to pursue research in it. So, to develop a strong grip on different branches of the subject, should I refer to the books you recommended for KVPY interview and Olympiad standard?
So if I ask which one is better: Sears and Zemanskys University Physics or The Feynman Lectures on Physics, which book is better for theory and problems and for concept development/building
valuable information.....really it will help the aspirants a lot.....great keep going👍 CONGRATULATIONS for your achievement, you are a living example that exhibits that its hard work that wins the battle.
BHAIYA CAN YOU PLEASE SUGGEST WHICH IS BETTER FOR A BEGINNER FOR EM- FEYNMAN VOL.2 OR GRIFFITHS(AS GRIFFITHS HAS SOME VERY HIGH MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS THAT ARE REQUIRED)
Bhaiya please answer my queries if you are seeing my comment 1.Which book has more high level questions as per jee advance:Anurag mishra or Cengage? 2.Which coaching module is better for jee advance point of view(I have seen your jee module review but you didn’t give a clear answer there)?Allen or resonance?
Bhaiya can I use physics galaxy book as I m in class 9 aiming for jee advance and international physics Olympiad and I am searching for a book which has excellent theory and questions upto the level of physics Olympiad
Yes, you can. Do add a theory book like hc Verma to your to do list too since jumping straight to problems and question based theoretical books, may decrease your interest in theory. Hc Verma and physics galaxy would be the best combo to start your physics prep. But for Physics Olympiad you have to practice much more questions, which you can keep for later, after completing the syllabus once.
Hii, really I don't know about importance of olympiad and now I decided to give it or win a medal currently I'm just come in 11 I didn't read any of book that you mention for olympiad so which book you suggest me for it I'm now really decided to win a medal and I know I'm too much late and I want to give it this year it seems like stupidness or impossible, which book to start I know the importance of hcv as I have less time so pls tell me some says that purcell, David morin or Kleppner is must book Note: I'm physics lover and I can do anything because I'm serious about it just need which book should start
It is not impossible at all. Most of the students who manage to get selected for ocsc prepare for 'at most' one year, it is just that you have to dedicate a lot of time for it. I would recommend you to go for Morin and not Kleppner since the later is more theoretical, which is not required in inpho. After each chapter of hc Verma solve questions from irodov, krotov & other books I have recommended. No pressure, but more practice = better results. Try to complete whole hc Verma before nsep, or ioqp, whichever iapt decides, at any cost. It will also help in your kvpy preparation.
@@stevert8424 depends on covid situation. May happen as soon as November or May be pushed back to February or March. If it is pushed back, both nsep and inpho will be conducted in a single sitting in the form of ioqp. So complete nsep prep by November.
Thank you for introducing these sources! I really appreciate you 😊🤗 Could you please introduce me another books for Olympiad of physics or the books that include difficult problems? (like HC Verma,Irodov)
I am preparing for IIT JEE and i have intrest in physics after completing PG and HCV should I read Feynman 's lectures now or after i inter b tech ( like by reading it will it now will it have any advantage ?)
Sir I have seen some channels recommended to solve /read University physics after PG and HCV , do you think it will help in doing so or is there no need for it or should I directly jump to irodov and krotov ( also do u recommend solving pathfinder for jee )
Pls give some tips on how to prepare physics for ijso. Like recommended books, topics, etc. I have heard that hcv is a good book. Pls tell me which chapters from hcv are required for IJSO. Pls reply asap :D
University physics and walker are to be done before Krane since problem solving from Krane will be tougher if basic concepts are not clear. Out of three I would choose Krane but depends on you whether basics are clear or not.
@@sgkhk2397 I didn’t like Walker theory, Krane was good but a little harder to understand due to its concise nature while University physics is easy to understand but it depends on your reading pattern on which book you will like. Tip: if this is your first time reading high school physics, go for university physics for sure. Btw HCV is more important than these
@ᎮᏒĀɱØԃ ᏒāᏠᎮÜᏖ I need to know your class and the exam that you are preparing for before answering this question. As it seems, If your time is limited (like 1 year) and you are preparing for an exam like KVPY or iit jee then Cengage or physics galaxy would be better books than textbooks since they teach you a lot of problem solving. You can use hc Verma for theory in theory based chapters and basic question practice.
Bhaiya, pls tell which one to take University Physics or Serway and Jewett Physics (first time studying physics , which is easier to read and understand)?
Brother I am from a middle class family who were hard hit by this covid-19 virus. I have NCERT of 11th and 12th passed on from my brother's only . Brother please say where NCERT physics books have errors at which pg numbers please 🙏🙏🙏🙏 as I can't afford to buy any books or go to coaching classes for this year please 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏 I wish to clear physics Olympiad please help me
Hi prasson, I am current midway across class xi and i have followed up with hcv and pg mechanics, should i continue the same or solve other books like bm sharma and anurag mishra sir book. I am preparing for jee adv
Cengage has a more basic approach than PG, so if you’re unsure of your conceptual understanding Cengage would be better, but if your basic concepts are clear, PG will save you a lot of time, and has arguably better questions for jee adv. It’s your choice to make depending on your own strengths and weaknesses.
@@prasoonpattanaik1784 Thank you so much, I think I will buy physics galaxy as I have less time and for some basic questions I will do some questions from my module or hcv 👍
Why just mechanics in class 11th. At least complete all chapters in kvpy sx syllabus from any book (hc Verma preferably). Don't worry, sx part 1 physics is not that tough, you can easily secure even full marks if your concepts in the chapters in syllabus are clear. I alsi have a video for kvpy sa in the channel. That may be helpful for you.
Is Halliday Resnick Walker for theory , Irodov , Krotov , Holics and Pathfinder for problem practice enough for Physics Olympiad and KVPY ? Need your reply urgently.?...
You can't solve those books just after walker as theory (and I don't know your background in physics). So kindly follow instructions that I have mentioned in the video for choosing books.
@@prasoonpattanaik1784 One more question..... I will be giving jee in 2022 and also want to attempt olympiads of physics....Kindly give me some suggestions for physics book to complete in one year to have a proper standing in olympiads? 🙏🙏
Amazing Video!! I just wanted to ask: I am in Class 11 trying to prepare for IPhO. My question is, after I complete HC Verma, should I solve Irodov directly or study Physics Galaxy (theory and problems) then move to Irodov? I was asking this because Physics Galaxy is a big book set and it will certainly require a long time to read it but I also have to study the likes of Kleppner & Kolenkow (Mechanics) etc. I hope you answer very soon!! Thank You!
You can solve Irodov directly after HCV but its going to be a bit difficult and time consuming without adequate practice beforehand. So I would recommend to at least go for the solved examples/advanced illustrations of PG, if you aren't able to solve some, read the theory of corresponding part. Next you can go for Irodov. Kleppner will strengthen your theory aspect of physics but not the problem solving part. BUT, if you're solely preparing for IPhO, the best strategy for mechanics alone, would be to solve David Morin's book once, you'll get the most thorough understanding of solving any physics problem through that book and you don't need to solve PG(for IPhO), you can go for irodov or krotov next, and interestingly irodov questions look very easy once you're done through first few chapters of Morin.
Wow, you put me in a tough spot, now I have to choose between my 2 mentors. I will just say this, physics galaxy is the best book for a complete physics experience and revision with outstanding theory and variety of questions, all qualitative. While, Anurag Mishra sir’s problem book is the best source of questions for any competitive exam that you can get your hands on. If you believe in problem based approach to physics then that problem book has it all, not even a single type of question has been excluded. I have never read Anurag sir’s theory book, he used to recommend us to read hc Verma and then practice questions from his book, which according to me would be the best strategy to follow for those who are starting in physics. The only drawback of this strategy is that it takes a lot of time to solve a chapter because of so many questions, so if you are low on time, go for physics galaxy .
Bhaiya aapke paas itna time thaa and aap padh bhi paye but maine tou just abhi 11th shuru kiya but I am like so deadly about physics and physics olampiad that I want to just do physics all the time with some maths as a side food with the jumbo meal , but I am afraid of that the time I have got is very less which would make me trouble and give me a feeling of sorrow and guilt that why I didn't started early
Just give your hundred percent and don’t think about these things. Starting early has nothing to do with how you perform in the exam. Even those who start early study the subject for fun in the initial years, and in the last one or two years go into “exam mode”. By the way, physics Olympiad preparation helps a lot in jee advanced preparation also and if you lack time then just master those chapters that are in jee course and try to attempt physics Olympiad giving your best. You can atleast qualify nsep with that much preparation either in 11th or 12th and that will help to enhance your CV for sure.
Bhaiya I am reading theory from University Physics (Sears and Zemansky) and questions from HCV. Is it sufficient for all the stages of IJSO or only for (nsejs and injso). Is doing questions of University Physics also important?
Ijso guide coming very soon. I have explained my recommended preparation strategy there. Until then follow one theory book and practice as much as possible for every chapter.
Bhaiya mere pass 4 mahine hai aur mere maine ncerts padhi hui hai to mai kon so book karu jo mujhe advanced ke liye taiyar kar de physics galaxy ya cengage physics
Which book to go for after doing hc verma : dc pandey or anurag mishra? 11th class is coming to an end so time shortage is a concern 😬😬😬 but i really wish to be productive from now on
Dc Pandey won’t be of much use after hc verma, practice problems from Anurag Mishra Sir’s problem books and return to hcv if you’re stuck on a concept while problem solving. A grasp in problem solving is extremely important for physics of any competitive exam which can be gained from any exam oriented books I have recommended in this video.
@@sanjibanpaul872 That’s a good book but according to me may be a bit over the top for Olympiads. Also do watch Ramamurti’s lectures of Yale, have some great mathematics references and discussion.
@@prasoonpattanaik1784 bhaiya what books should I cover before starting grifits ELECTRODYNAMICS? Pls help 🙏🙏 I have done hcv and dc PANDEY.... And from where can I cover the theory for those Olympiad books Morin and grifits pls help 🙏
Hello bhaiya maine mechanics kleppner se complete kar liya hai aur electromagenatism by purcell se padh liya hai pratice tough book name batay ungraduate 1st years level ho for inpho aur ipho aur fluids mechanics very deep detail easy language theory book plz suggest me
There is no such thing as the best book in physics. Try to get all the concepts ✅ and I have mentioned all the books from which you can get these concepts.
Bhaiya, I am a 9th grader at present, will be in 10th in March 2021. I have almost completed Concepts of Physics by HC Verma sir. I wish to clear the Physics Olympiad(at least 1st 2 stages) in Class 10. Which books shall I follow according to you?
Nsep can be cleared by mastering he Verma concepts along with remembering all formulas and pattern of questions. For that little bit extra you can watch Ramamurti sir’s Yale physics lectures. Trust me they are very useful for Inpho also. For inpho, klepner is a good book in mechanics. Leave the relativity part, and solve every question of other parts. That would take almost all the time, so rest of it divert to completely solve irodov problems, really helpful for inpho. If you can do these in 10th, then you have a good chance to clear inpho in 10th itself. You have to do a lot of other things in 10th like the board and ntse so don’t worry that much if you fail once in nsep or inpho.
@nath pcm I didn't watch any videos, I self-prepared....I solved Mechanics, Optics, Electro so far... (In Mechanics, I didn't do Rotational, from Optics, I only did Geometrical Optics and Dispersion wala chapters, in Electro, I left Gauss's Law and Capacitance.) I am still left with magnetism to complete
I read conceptual physics by pearson during 8th and 9th. but didnt do anything in 10th Now, Im about to go to 11th. should i read university physics or just do coaching modules and other problem solving books?
I think HC Verma would be the perfect bridge between concept and exam oriented study in your case as coaching modules and problems focus completely on polishing your concepts but it’s hard to build those concepts from scratch through the same.
I am a jee 2023 aspirant. If i solve the physics galaxy( 5 book set) completely along with my jee coaching material, will it be enough to solve most of the questions of jee advance ? Also, is it sufficient for nsep and inpho ?
Almost all the maths in physics is mentioned in every textbook of physics. The more you practice physics questions, that maths part also improves, so no need to worry about that.
