Happy New Year to you and all your subscribers Srboljub. Thank you for another fine review. To your friend who lent you the D50S thank you - and make sure you get back the right amplifier 😀. Is the balanced output one of the upgrades from the D50 ? I think it may be. It’s nice to see manufacturers adding balanced output in addition to the standard single ended output. Now we need more headphone manufacturers to wire their products for balanced output. Your description of the difference in listening pleasure between the two is commonly reported by others. It’s well worth the extra cost if your budget can be stretched to accommodate a balanced system.
I noticed that the input to the D50S is only single ended. So that the difference in sound you observed is quite remarkable. As you say it would be an economical upgrade to match the D50S with the E30 since the D50S only accepts standard RCA inputs from a DAC. That would be a nice option and good savings if you don’t mind the stack being slightly mismatched. Of course you don’t have to stack them provided you have a little extra space.
Thanks for reviewing. This a50s is good upgrade to original a50. I use it about a month and completely agree to what you have said. Actualy it's smaller and less powerfull brother of famous and much more pricier a90 amp from topping. So yes it is really good from power to transparency and quality. And for the price it's big recomendation from me. Actually on 11.11 from alie you could get it for around 140 euros/ dollars so this was real deal ( this is how i got it) so it was about the same as l30. But even for current price it is worth every euro you will spend. It is that good. Thanks for sharing and thanks to guy who gave it to your honest review. Big thanks.
I just got a Topping E30+L30 stack to use with my Tin P2 and Hifiman Sundara. The combo is excellent, I can just imaging what an A50s can do!! Excellent review from you!! Also Happy new year :)
Oh yeah this kicks ass. Bought this for office set up (to be seldom used because of WFH) but it turned out to be one hell of an amp--ended up taking it back home. Got it discounted at $159 so it was a really great purchase.

Unless one has a headphone where the 'Balanced' capability can be utilized, A 50s is not VFM compared to the 30. heartfelt Wishes for a Very Happy Healthy and Successful New Year dear Friend.

Hi. I’m searching for a amp for my Philips fidelity 2xhd, have the topping d50s and think the headphone is a little thin in midrange and a bit cold. So I saw the review of the little tube amp Xduoo MT-602. It’s cheaper but what are your take on a50 vs. Xduoo ?
In Ac 15v input u can give 15vDC because DAC will convert Ac supply to DC internal. But u can't give AC at place of DC input Because they don't have fool-bridge rectifer inside
Great review again! I would like you to tell me if I can convert my hd 6xx with a single cable to fully balanced by adding just an adapter from 3.5 to 4.4 like yours. Also if i can benefit from A50s' preamp mode with a 4.4 balanced to 2 rca cable if i connect it straight to my amplifier for audition from my speakers.
Thanks! You can use balanced cable with 6xx, but it has to be fully balanced cable from one end to the other (separate 4 wires at all times). In my case, I have a balanced cable with 2.5mm jack so just using adapter to 4.4. But you can't mix single-ended (3.5mm or RCA) with balanced adapter.... That can even damage your gear.
HI wanted to ask for the Sundaras, which is the better amplifier to power them? is the l30 sufficient? that way i can save the difference in price. Thanks.
A50s is great with sundaras, i use it and it really loks like made for sundaras. Dynamics, details, linearity in all fequencies, amazing control - this is how i describe the sound. I would go with a50s not with l30.
@@cirotube74 do you use it with p50 ? It fixes some problems for me. This combo still has some more treble energy than others but i like it with p50. Your sundara is what version?
A30 pro is the most powerful sounding and has the fullest bassline. It's my favorite among them. A50s and L50 are both somewhat leaner sounding and with less drive. I haven't compare them directly but I expect these two to perform very similar.
