why even coat them. PHT does a heat treat that keeps the chrominum from becoming carbides and keeps it really stain resistence.. Yes those steels would kick ass. I cut cinder blocks with those steels.

Well everyone bleeds in that situation, but with a 10.5" blade, that reach is dangerous. In more ways than one!

I think that's 100% true, at least when talking about the knives that most people carry on daily basis. They're short, hard to defend against, and not given to swift incapacitation given their diminutive size. That said, this thing is in a different category entirely. It's closer to short sword, which would certainly give a substantial advantage in a stand-off with someone armed with something like a common folding knife.

@@thelifeofjools8384That wasn't my point. My point was that if you had to fight with a knife, this one would give many meaningful advantages over others. NF is right, this would be a very decent fighting weapon. I hate to pull out the experience card, but I did HEMA for years and we used to do a "bear-pit" at the end of every practice session with personal defense weapons (knives of all stripes, tomahawks, etc). With knives, longer is almost always better, not only for the reach that a long blade brings, but also leverage, power, and the ability to penetrate clothing.

I think in usage the camp 10 is even superior due to the soft and comfy grip.
