Mage slayer gives +25% magic resistance and-20% magic attack reduction when attacks. Thats why when you attack with mage slayer enemy has purple ball on their head

He doesn't get money for killing own minion but you denie gold and xp from enemy. It's not weird. It's complex, there are more ways to outplay enemy.
