As someone who went through the Toptal interview process, can confirm that everything said here was 100% accurate. I decide to turn it down because to that take home project. That is where I had to draw the line. By that time I was already exhausted from the timed code tests. Personally I think that Toptal has been hyped into oblivion.
They are asking me to pay $50 dollars security fee. I ask them what is my guarantee that they will pay me after I pay them the amount for security fee but they answered me indirectly. I am a bit hesitant to pay because I am not sure if I am transacting with the right person especially that we are talking in telegram.
