Got my new Toptro X7 projector... Its really amazing and colours are really vibrant.. best part is auto focus and keystone.. I kept the projector on the corner of the room and the picture quality and sharpness is still intact and really great...
I tend to misplace my product manuals after a few weeks. I find having them online, saves me time trying to remember where the paper ones are hiding. 😀 P.S. Glad my video helped you.
Glad I could help! I'm sure you will be very happy with your decision. P.S. Drop back and let us know your thoughts after you get a chance to play with your new projector.
Thanks for the review 👍 It sounds like this projector would pair well with a "Chromecast with Google TV" device plugged into one of the HDMI ports. The Chromecast interface is made for TV, comes with a remote, and would overcome all the clunky shortcomings of the projector's built-in interface. Then you'd have all the latest versions of apps and no need to do awkward workarounds like 'mouse mode'.
Chromecast Built In app is available in the app store. I use it to stream my desktop and audio directly to the projector. You can also use the Chrome browser to cast content from. I tested a Mecool plus a X98K android box via the HDMI ports. P.S. There is enough power to drive a splitter cable for multiple SSD Hard drives. I have tested 2 x 2 Terabyte drives formatted to NTSL and an external Android box and all work as expectedl.
I simply use my wall. P.S. I did have a dedicated Anti Light Screen, but don't use it anymore, as the viewing angle was too small. Hope that answers your question for you.
Awesome video. Was thinking of getting one. Are the Stan and Apple TV apps available/work? Also is the built in zoom optical or digital… as in say if I have it projecting from behind me onto the wall and the image is too big, will making the image smaller deteriorate the image quality?
To answer your questions: 1. Apple TV and Stan are not included on the Toptro Android 9 initial setup. However, I searched and installed both apps using Google Playstore quite easily. 2. I'm not sure if digital or optical zoom is used. I personally use a 7% reduction in screen size, and have not noticed any degradation in image quality.
Hi, the projector is great! Just bought mine. However, while the center of the screen is on focus, the left side of the projected image is very out of focus. Anyone else with the same issue? If so, how do you fix it?
I'd suggest you check the projector alignment to the wall. (90 degrees is best) Mine was slightly offset, and I used Keystone to fix it, the result was blurring to one side of the screen.
@@GarryPurcell thanks Gary. I just bought another projector but the audio is so quiet, and the Bluetooth connection seems to drop in and out whenever it feels like it.
How far away and how high up are you supposed to put this to get it right? It's a pain in the butt getting it perfectly right without the screen cutting off. 120" screen.
My projector is set behind my couch on a Hibori Universal Projector Stand at 3.6metre (142inch) from the wall, which gives an approximate 3.0metre (120inch) screen. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RMR2NP7VW4I.html P.S. Most projectors use Keystone settings to correct the viewing angle.
Sorry, I have no idea if you can replace the lamp. I do know you would have to pull the projector apart, as there is no easy way to get to the lighting system.
Thank you for the review, great video. What I want to ask is from what I can see the left side is not clear at all, I am not sure if this is because of the recording or if this is all it can produce, I saw that 99% of the projectors have this problem, they can't focus the corners.
My projector is offset from the wall approx 80 degrees in this video, and my camera was also offset for filming approx 60 degrees.. If you place the projector at 90 degrees from the wall, you will get sharper focus.
Hi, thanks for the review of this projector. I'm interested in it, but I noticed some recurring shortcomings. The left side of the image appears blurry, and it's not possible to adjust the sharpness to be consistent across the entire displayed image. Is there a way to correct this? I've heard that this projector doesn't recognize connected 4K devices and only detects the signal as 1080p. For instance, when connecting a PS5 console via HDMI, it doesn't achieve a 4K resolution. Is that true?
My projector was slightly skewed offset to the wall it's being projected onto. This TopTro projector uses Native 1080p, so it downsizes any 4k input, to 1080p output. Unfortunately, if you need 4k resolution, you will need to spend a lot more.
@@GarryPurcell hi Garry, thats not what I meant. I know at the end it will scale down the image quality to 1080p. What I mean is can it at least try to fake 4k from connected sources such as ps5 or google Chromecast 4k?
Starting at 4K no matter what you do, the forced downscaling will result at 1080p image quality. If you start with bad 4k footage, it will show as bad 1080 video. Good 4K image quality results in good 1080 output.
I've had no concerns as to the brightness of this projector in my lounge room. (I have suitable blackout curtains fitted) I'm not sure what you mean about Android 9.0? If your asking will it handle most of the Android 9.0 apps, then the answer is yes. Bear in mind, this is not a Google Certified device.
Picture is great sound good. Auto focus ect . Shame about the software. Android version 9 some apps do not work that are already installed with the unit. Looking for things like iplayer you wont find in the store. Bluetooth issue sound. No support section on website only email. Plus side it does have Kodi. Little moan no battery for remote included.
I agree it's a shame that the Android 9 OS is a bit on the ancient side. I'm not having issues with Bluetooth connection to my Sony Surround Sound System, but do seem to have an issue with my headphones , there dropping sync every now and then. P.S. If you use a web browser and go direct to the BBC website, you can longin and watch via Iplayer, as long as your in the UK, or VPN.
Using a Xbox one console with projector.Only app left on device is RU-vid. Plug in Xbox now have Blu-ray and all apps working from Xbox much better solution than the crap android system on projector.
I have my projector set back 3.6metre (142inch) from the wall, which gives a 3.0metre (118inch) screen. P.S. I took out a tape measure to get the measurements for you.😬
I use this projector most days, and it has been quite good so far. As far as colour goes, I haven't noticed any colour problems with any of the videos Iv'e watched.
Its called a "HIBORI Projector Floor Stand" I bought mine from Amazon. One annoying thing about the stand I bought, is that the locking screw supplied, was the wrong size, so I can't lock the top arm in place. Also bear in mind, it's best to keep the overall height, set as low as possible, for stability. But apart from that, Its OK.
2 questions I searched for an hour and couldn’t find the answer. With Netflix, can you download for offline viewing? Also, how many watts does it use? I want to use it off a battery pack.
I haven't tried to download any videos, do to their size, maybe you can download to an external drive, but not sure. It says 75watts on the bottom of the projector.
Hi are you still using it? My concern is when it's all focused and proper, if you go and use the zoom option everything screws up and then u use auto focus and screen again zooms to default position. So basically it's constant cycle. Did u try zoom option?
If your referring to changing internal picture colour temperature, saturation etc. The answer is: It's automatically set by the software, and to override it you will need to use 3rd party apps.
Thank you! Finally was able to change the brightness and contrast but for some reason the image still remains too dark. I'm returning the projector. Picture quality is not what it claims to be.
I loaded some Chromecast apps onto my Samsung Galaxy S22 mobile phone, and it was a mixed bag as they say. I could play some of my videos located on my phone, view images, and mirror my phones screen and camera. Some of the free apps I tested had youtube access, I could view videos direct to the projector, but these free apps don't seem stable enough and often froze,. Maybe you might get different results, with paid apps. Hope this helps to answer your question.
Its best to use the supplied remote. (You can also use your mobile phone to control the projector) NOTE: There is only an On/Off button on the projector itself.
