I think the secret is out, last weekend I saw so many flats boats back there. We only managed two small snook and jumped 3 tarpon. Not sure if it was you but a guide was working the area. If it was you then you should’ve been there about 45 mins sooner. Those Terramar rods are nice & soft but with plenty of backbone to handle those slobs. Surprised you would even attempt that with 30# - I only use 40# on my topwaters now due to the bigger fish it attracts. Sadly I think this spot is going to become weekdays only. I’m still trying to figure out why the fish are there, Seems it would be a winter spot.
Awesome take and fight. Impressed with the amount of pressure you were able to apply when you cupped the spool. Did you have to switch out and beef up the hooks or are they stock hooks?
Nice snook bro! At about 5:00 I thought for sure I was gonna see it pop. 30lbs leader on that big girl with the mangroves??! You did a great job not rushing her in. Going out in the morning here in fort pierce, hoping to jump some tarpon. Tight lines bro!
First, I really like the channel and look forward to your next content. Second...you make it look so easy. I’ve been striking out hard lately, so I decided to Purchase the yozuri hydro pencil and the top knot pencil. and still fish my zara spooks too. I had one follow in 3 trips, not doing well. any tips would be appreciated.
