I make a trip to the Ohoopee River with my good buddy Chris with hopes of getting on a good topwater redbreast bite. Despite the water being high and dirty, we catch several nice fish and manage to rope some nice roosters in the process! Thanks for checking out the video…we really appreciate it!!

Thanks for the link to this video. I was trying to recognize what area y’all were in. I like to put in at 178 down from the prisons. But have been known to float down from Cobbtown or Collins bridge and fish down just below HWY 280, been a long time though.

@@GABOYOUTDOORS yeah man. We tore up some 10-11 inch bluegill and roosters over here in north Florida yesterday. Almost all on the cricket. I had a few hit at the spider but just wouldn’t fully commit. Was wondering what conditions you look for to go fully swamp spider.

Ours over on the west side is till about 3 feet plus high. Great catches, hopefully I can get down it midweek.

Yallwas getting it down River wasn’t ya, i had to learn to float backwards. After watching many of your videos seriously thinking of purchasing a kayak. If I do’ should I get one to paddle or the pedal style? I fish lil satilla mostly big satilla some… like to fish when it’s low dang boat gets hard to drag over stuff & thanks

Appreciate you checking out the video Brother! Just my personal preference but I like paddle models in the river…works better for me at getting through the shallow stuff.

For shallow rivers, I can only recommend a paddle kayak. Pedal drives make a shallow draft irrelevant.

What’s the setup your throwing them spiders with? I have only used them on a bream buster.

That’s how I had always threw them too…then someone showed me the trick of biting off a pea sized piece of plastic worm and putting it on the shank of the hook. I’m using a Delta 2 spin cast combo I got from Tiger Creek Bait and Tackle on Facebook for 40 bucks…with this setup I can consistently throw close to 30 ft with pretty good accuracy.
