Toqrul Tower, the sun-clock that indicates quarter of an hour 

A brief visit to Toqrul Tower in the city of Rey at southwest of Tehran. A brick tower that was constructed about a thousand years ago. Although the tower has lost its dome during an earthquake in previous century, still the design and architecture of the walls is amazing, as it was built to have multiple functions back then, from watch tower during the day, to searchlight tower at nights, and to serve as sun-clock for local pepople, with accuracy of allegedly up to a quarter of an hour, let's check that out!
