Why did he feel sad seeing palm oil plantations? Did he expect we cook using olive oil all the time? I swear these mat salehs are so judging thinking they are always right every time.
It’s very sad to see the destruction of forests in any location around the world. There are many alternatives to palm oil. Olive oil is not a suitable alternative but there are many others and it’s a global problem since most of the palm oil is exported. I don’t understand how the words “I am sad to see” are in your eyes “judging” - I have pinned this comment Becuase I want others to comment too.
Thank you for visiting my hometown Mamasa, And thank you for wanting to introduce Mamasa to many people, how beautiful Mamasa's nature is... We hope you enjoy your stay in our village and enjoy Mamasa's signature black coffee ☕🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩... May you always be accompanied by God in your journey, God Bless You
There was in 80th , 80 days around the world with 80 unique places one of them visit Toraja they did Rambu solo'(funeral) and rambu Tuka'( thanks giving) with unique ceremonial.
In 2019 we visited Mamasa. The driver didn't took this road from Mamasa to Toraja due to rainfall the roads were terrible. We drove back to Enrekang, and then to Rantepao.
The road to Toraja on the Mamasa route has now started to be repaired and has reached 40% asphalting. There is still a lot of mountain dredging around the valley in the Pasapa area so now The road will be really very muddy and slippery. But the hope of Mamasa people who want to go to Toraja is that the road repairs are expected to be 100% complete in the next 2 years because The geographical location of the work is very steep and narrow, so it will take a lot of time and energy
Compare to another ytber who exploring indonesia, ur video have a good quality and scenary. Someday i hope u can explore Belitung Islands, the roads are better than the most of indonesian provinces have. u can explore hundreads of beautiful islands near the main islands and also explore UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARK IN BELITUNG.
Its funny when Kezia Said to Water buffalo to come to Bali to avoid being kill for ceremony..This Is Where two different culture meet.. For Balinese culture and Mamasa or Toraja culture
Interesting documentary about the Mamasa tribe and their funeral rites👍👍👍. Even though the roads look terrible, I'm glad you all made it through safely👏👏👏.
Menonton di awal video aku merasa belajar ilmu pengetahuan alam, menonton di tengah video aku berubah belajar ilmu pengetahuan sosial, tapi di akhir video, aku jadi ikut merasa takut dan berfikir, sampai kapan perjalanan ini berakhir dengan menemukan jalan yg bagus, dan juga menemukan perkampungan lagi.jadi nggak sabar mau lihat kelanjutan perjalanannya Sam..
It is my first time seeing my own village on screen. And as you said Sam Mamasa is really worth to know! Even though the road is not so good. But thank you for having our Mamasa on your channel. I hope you meet Mamasa again in another time with “the good road situations”.
Thank you for the great covering of far away indonesia towns Sam, I don't think there will ever be another well documented video nor articles on the town
That was amazing trip, long road that the unconditioned, but in other way, you can get the adventure that worth to know how the Mamasa village and old culture and traditional home and clothe and you've wear that. I hope you wont be borried to explore your Adventure and share with us @SAM INDOWILD (really sorry my comment was cutting, and I edit back the comment)
I was holding my breath as you guys descending those "bagus" roads. The heads of the area must be ashamed of themselves for letting their own people to have such terrible roads. Thanks Sam and Kezia for spreading this beauty as well as the ugly of Sulawesi Barat.
The traditional houses are placed on top of large stones to give a little protection during earthquakes. It allows them to move a bit and not be torn apart. The do this in many traditional house in Sumatra also. I have wanted to go to Mamasa for years.
Good.... thank you my brother...sdh meng upload videonya,,,kami baru tau Mamasa daerahnya yg jalan ke situ sangat susah sekali... terus lah ceritakan perjalanan nya.
Thanks for the sulawesi vlog series. This realy cure me a lot. 6 month ago, i planned to do the same route as yours from central sulawesi to west sulawesi. From lore lindu - palu - donggala - mamuju -mamasa. But unfortunately it just became a plan. I was mutated to central java a month before the schedule that i arranged to do the trip. But yeah, maybe sometime i get a chance to make it happen. At least i can still enjoy the view from your vlog bro. Thanks!
mantab sekali , budaya dan adat istiadat suku mamasa masih tradisional yang merupakan kekayaan budaya indonesia, thankyou mister sudah mendokumentasikan kehidupan di suku mamasa, semoga sukses selalu
no other word to describe your effort on making this documentary but great job Sam, highly appreciated that 💪🏻. keep spreading the beauty of Indonesia mate 😎
Wow you're super cool. I'm half Mamasa from my mother side, even I never get myself to visit the village because of the discouraging of broken roads. It always like this almost every year. The government has a lot work to do to improve the transportation access meanwhile it's such a huge different here in South Sulawesi, even small villages are mostly accessible by decent roads. My parents prefer to visit Toraja which is my father's hometown untill now I'm in my 30s. Your video encourage me to make Mamasa 1 of my bucket list which soon I wish I could achieve.
You should do it! But be careful on those roads. I think it’s better to drive past pare pare and keep going around the coast and head that way instead of trying the “trans Sulawesi highway” like I did haha
Sam, I admire and appreciate your dedication to understanding local culture and customs through the perspective of good photography. and also your hard work in handling a heavy and fully loaded 500cc motorbike on a bad road. can't wait for your next story in Toraja..
I am curious when you visit Southeast Sulawesi, where I am from. There are such diving gems like Labengki and Wakatobi. Thank you for your great work. Stay safe!
You are doing alright on the bike. Year or two more and you will start enjoying roads like this, unleashing full potential of the bike you are driving. Don't worry, just full focus and nothing ever happens. That's a real freedom. Such an amazing adventure hope it never ends.
In rural areas, good road means not muddy or not having a lot of potholes or no big stones. This means the bike can pass through much easily during dry sunny season than wet rainy season. You can stop whereever there is a flat ground on the road side. Motorcycles are cheap and easy transportation for rural people. It seems a 4x4 vehicles can easily go there. A car might can go during the dry season.
In the remote area in South Sulawesi, there are Seko and Rampi, in Luwu Utara, the road is worst than this....some say their races is Torajanese, but they speak different languages
@@IndoWild I had visited most of these locations when I was working in Bali back in the mid 90th, amazing and so naturell, Pare Pare, Rantepao etc had driven up from Makassar to Tana Toraja these days by car in 8 hours unforgettable valleys and sceneries
