Safety First and Tips:
When working with a torch be sure to work in a well-ventilated space.
Always wear your safety glasses.
Have a fire extinguisher handy.
Have burn ointment handy.
Do not wear open-toed shoes.
Hold your torch in your less dominant hand and your tweezers/brush in your dominant hand.
Gather everything you need BEFORE turning on your torch!!
How I set up my soldering Station:
Work in an open space.
Make sure you do not have anything flammable close to your station.
I have everything I need on a Cookie sheet. This way I can pick it up and move it around if necessary. Plus a cookie sheet protects your work surface as well as having a protective rim.

You always inspire me in the most fantastic ways! I love this idea and may not have thought of it on my own. Thanks for your thorough walk-through. Oh, where did you find the brass charms? I noticed that they're not on your supply list. If that's intentional, no worries. I was just curious.

Thank you for this very informative video! The information in the description is also great. My question is do i need to use a gold solder too when soldering brass? Or is the solder color not gonna matter? Thank you!

Thank you for these tips! I was wondering how I'd go about attaching a metal charm to a metal ring. Is there a prop you recommend to hold a ring in place to do this for?

seems like I have to sand the parts I want soldered for them to stick together , im assuming that's what your supposed to do? I use a paste flux as it stays where I want it.

Can you get gold colored solder?

You can use brass brazing rod, but the temperature required is very high. It's possible with a propane torch in theory, but in my experience it's difficult to get everything to that temperature with a torch alone, at least in the open air. You really need it isolated in a box to keep everything up to temperature. Like a forge/foundry, a box made of bricks or a diy smelting furnace.
