You can only cut your own deck if your opponent shuffles it, if your opponent cuts the deck you can't re-shuffle or cut it.

He used prime catcher to switch into pidgeot and then free retreat back into rad zard; when pokemon move to the bench, the effects placed on them (in this case not being able to attack the following turn) get cleared off

@@odnihs thank you for that explanation! Been playing this deck online for over a month and never knew I could do that. It simply states you cannot use combustion blast next turn. I know retreat will clear off special conditions. ( burned,confused,poisoned) but the attack litterally states it cannot use that attack next turn. Reading that I would think that would hold true, retreat or not, but that must be my inexperience showing.

Yes when you retreat the pokemon then the conditions for the attack reset.

All effects on a Pokemon other than damage disappear when it goes to the Bench.
