I still love the original more, my favorite Madonna song ever, but damm if Tori does not turn this into something just as special in a more intimate, haunting fashion. Applause!
Ps The only person on the face of this earth that makes covers sounds like her own songs!I salute to you Tori Amos the most creative creature on the planet since Johns Lennons death.
Hauntingly beautiful. She made it her own. I can’t stop listening to her adaptation of Madonna’s classic. This wonderful lady can do anything to make it her own. Tori I love you.
That's why musicians like Tori Amos are incredible because they have not sacrificed the soul in their artistry. Unlike all the assholes in music today who only think about one thing $$$$$$$$$$.
you're having an amazing time on this tour aren't you? :) thank you for capturing such a special moment for us Tori lovers. thanks for all your other vids too!
Tori Amos has been gifted a supernatural grace when she plays and sings. She casts a spell on all who listen to her. This isn’t Madonna’s popular ballad any more; it is an entirely new interpretation.
As a huge fan of both Madonna and Tori, my dream of dreams is that they would write and produce an album together. Ray of Light and From the Choirgirl Hotel are sister albums, both born in 1998, both departures from what they released prior and both forays into electronica.
Thank u soooo much......her vocals and keyboard capture ice while transporting me to another plane....my fave cover so far this tour.......and u, dear poster, ROCK!!!!!! For sharing this masterpiece with excellent sound and great camerawork :)
Wooow una muy buena versión de la gran Tori Amos, respetando la versión original...ambas le dan ese toque de nostalgia y lejanía , que caracteriza esta pieza ...
***** Thank you so much for sharing this link. I echo Jeckee Son's comment - I will never forget that SNL performance and have never been able to find it online - it really left an indelible mark. I am so grateful, thank you!
Im just now seeing this vid & these comments. Im 43 & was a junior in High School in 1996 & would watch SNL like my life depended on it bc im from a very rural town in S.C. & all the artists i loved never came any closer than Atlanta or Charlotte (& my parents were far too broke to buy me tix anyway!) I actually recorded that Tori performance on VHS & quite possibly still have it kicking around at my parents house somewhere. God, I recorded so much awesome stuff… Green Day playing Geek Stink in like ‘94, Pearl Jam playing Daughter, which I believe was their first performance on SNL after Cobain died, Hole playing Doll Parts which was INCREDIBLE….Alanis Morrissette playing SNL for the first time, LIVE, Counting Crows, Bush…so many I recorded like the nerd I was!! I hope you guys got to see her on this tour…she was amazing (got to see the Atlanta show!) When I visit my parents again, I will search for this VHS tape & if I find it, try getting it on YT & will be sure to come back to let you know! Take care!
техно парк true. Everyone says how Madonna “can’t sing” yet people who have done covers of Madonna songs never sound as good. I don’t think it’s necessarily a vocal thing, tori Amos isa great artist and I’m a huge fan. But the thing is there’s something kinda missing, a feeling, whatever it is. Madonna has an instantly recognisable voice
