It's fitting that it's Piccolo waving goodbye. He was Toriyama's favourite character and he was happy that Piccolo got his time to shine in Super Hero.
Not exactly. It’s his baby, but the Dragon Team can overwrite his decisions. He wasn’t the sole owner of it, like George Lucas, who could do anything during the prequels.
@@sngomi That's not how writing works for any writer of decent skill. At first there are infinite possibilities, but eventually you sculpt the world and the characters in such a way that certain decisions don't feel natural. If you want something to happen, you have to come up with some way to make it feel right. Not for the audience, but for yourself. Especially when it comes to the characters you love. This is why Piccolo's orange form has so much meaning tied into it that isn't even talked about, whereas Gohan's Beast form is just there. Because not only does Gohan getting more powerful just because, as unsatisfying as it may be, feel natural for Gohan, but Toriyama didn't love him as much as Piccolo.
@kylescanlon9167 well some people do get the feeling when they are going to die it is often accompanied by hallucinations and weird dreams and terminal lucidity is also a thing when a terminally ill patient start acting healthy and energetic only to pass away few hours or days later
@@TheOriginalNyxieyou're the one with "NeCtOr MoLeStEr" as if you're laughing about molesters and abusers and wish for likes yourself. If you're crying about likes on a comment, maybe get a life so you aren't whining like a karen on a platform where people share their opinions which is the whole point of RU-vid and not seeking likes like a buttbaby

Yea when I read that last page and saw Piccolo wave bye. It got a bit teary eyed 🥺 He’s saying good bye to the Audience. Great I’m tearing up just writing this. Ngl Toriyamas passing hit hard.
@@011mrq7 It is indeed a sad time for creators of the past. So many are finally going over being middle-aged and are reaching the final years of their lives.
@@MangaGod_KakumeiMUIGoku the word "sensei" can also be used to show respect to someone who has mastered their craft, not just to denote someone being a teacher
Also for those who don't know the lore behind Piccolo; Up until the Cell saga, there was a character called Kami (God) that had been there since the King Piccolo Arc in original DB [showed up after King Piccolo was defeated] (The Picollo most of you know, is acutally the old Demon King Piccolo's son/, Beelzebub. And at the start of his life, he did call himself the reincarnated demon king.) So this wasn't just Piccolo saying goodbye, this was a former God/guardian now leaving
@@RedditgoldX really? But it looks so good, like I don't spot any mistakes AI would usually make. It even has actual text, correctly adjusted to the gravestone even :c
@@GodMaxDrinkerofTea that can easily be photoshopped and edited in afterwards but the image itself has this weird fake glossy look to it and if you look closer there’s overlapping meshing lines and folds that go into eachother, especially on the clothes
Also there’s a weird blue speck on the leg and the water doesn’t look right falling down his arms or face why is it weirdly blue+lines that look out of place
I hope that they keep Piccolo as strong as vegeta and goku for the rest of the series. And I also hope they let the humans cook a little toom they could all benifit from whis's training. And whis seems like he genuinly enjoys training people. He's always having such a good time with goku and Vegeta and he's so damn motivating even if they fail over and over.
Whis is like Mr. Miyagi in his role as teacher. Able to easily trounce his students, but recognizing their strength and dropping wisdom on them every chance he gets.
right I was hoping someone would mention that Not worth getting peeved over it but yeah it's an odd choice when if a visual was needed they could've asked to use someone's fanart or taken something from the actual show/manga
So Toriyama knew he was about to leave us for good. Piccolo was his favorite character and he drew him saying goodbye. I believe that goodbye from Piccolo was actually Toriyama saying goodbye to his fans. RIP to the legend ❤😢!!!
Rest In Peace Akira Toriyama🕊️🐐 May God Rest Your Soul♥️😢 Fly High Legend You Will Be Remembered From The Bottom Of Our Hearts,You were the greatest Mangaka ever😭
It’s almost as if he knew his time was coming. Giving us a final farewell through his favourite character when he easily could’ve let toyotaro do his thing.
BRUH. It's like he knew! I just turned 40 years old and still have love for these animes I grew up with. I think people know when their time is coming closer to an end and it changes how they think about the world. Saying goodbye must have been present on his mind at this time but difficult to put into words, especially in a culture like Japan.
never watched nor read DB before but damn, that tiny correction he made to scene is like him saying it's okay to move on from it, because he too is satisfied with where he managed to stop at.
Oh man this hits hard. Akira changed so many lives with his work. Im so grateful for it and I believe this was a way to say bye to all of us through means of his work.
I'm so heartbroken at this artists loss, humanity suffered a blow to its shine upon his passing, I grew up on his works. Rest gently great artist I pledge to binge his work start to end🙏😌
Rest in peace to the legend amongst legends. Toriyama raised me without knowing it. Thank you for all your contributions, sir. I bow to you in honor of your culture. A handshake would be the respect in mine, but I would probably give you a hug. Thank you, sir. may you rest in paradise.
Unfortunately, if we don't place our trust in Jesus and confess Him as Lord then there will be no peaceful rest. But one of complete sorrow. You must believe the Gospel.
Knowing that this was Toriyama’s final contribution to Dragon Ball before his death gives me the impression that he knew that he didn’t have much time left in this world, so he made this contribution as a subtle means of saying goodbye. May he rest in peace.
This is a bittersweet goodbye. It was unintentional, but I still believe that it is now a cool and great way for Toriyama to say "Goodbye" through Piccolo.
if this isn’t the most fitting this for him, idk what is. the last thing he did wasn’t only working on dragon ball, but perfecting the goodbye of his favorite character. god now it’s gonna feel like he’s saying goodbye to us not piccolo 😭
My first memory of the dragon ball franchise I got up on a Saturday in September of 1996 and I turn the tv on really early. It was around 5:30 am and DragonBall Z Dead Zone just started. That was how I got into the series and been a fan ever since
