Hey John, When you are all finished with construction you should consider registering the shelter's exact location with your local Emergency Response people in case you ever really need it and get buried inside construction.
I wouldn't tell anyone where my hiding spot is. You don't know if their intentions are good or bad. Your family & close friends will know, that's enough.
Glad you’re back and it sounds like you’ve got a few big projects coming. Glad you’re able to put in that storm shelter. I just pray you won’t ever have to use it. Your barndominium plans sound awesome. Glad I can follow along on your journey.
We’re on the north west side of Fort Worth we are also getting that 12 person shelter installed. Can’t wait. Thanks for the video as it gave me an understanding of how big a hole is gonna be needed.
That looks like Georgia red clay! I sure wish I had a storm shelter. That's a nice one. It will keep you safe in all situations! So nice and a great idea in your area!
Happy smiles!! A CBR video! What a nice surprise! Have missed y'all! Sounds like some exciting times for you guys. Lots of storms this year. The shelter was some good forward planning. Have missed y'alls videos. Take care
Hey John! Glad to see ya. The storm shelter is awesome, that's a purchase was a wise one, looks cool too. So your building a Barndominium, that's gonna be so neat! Can't wait to see what ya do!
Was wondering what happened to you, glad to see you back. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Glad that you are putting a shelter in and a new barndominium, cool.
Hey there John!! Man is it great to see you!!! That storm shelter is awesome!! Can’t wait to follow along for the barndominium journey!! Love your channel and videos!! We’ll, y’all have a great night!!
That is great. Putting it inside the house is a fantastic idea! I just retired and moved back to Alabama. (A year ago; time flies😱) I said that was the first thing I was going to get. I still don’t have one. This has motivated me, thank you. Looking forward to more videos.
Hey neighbor!!! Subscribed!! Without saying too much in the comments we are neighbors off CR351 on a little 15 acre homestead nice to have you guys 👩🏽🌾 the place looks so nice.
Welcome back, missed you! First thing g you need to do is put in a few random length 4x4's and at least a 20 ton bottle jack. If the need ever arises something is blocking the door. Add a few pry tools also, being a fiberglass door it will be easier to do than a steel door. Hope you never need it!
Hey John, happy to see you again! It's an awesome idea to have it under the slab, inside the house/ barnaminium. I never figured out why ppl had them 100' from the house in the middle of the garden...lol 😂😅 Anyways, might I suggest locating the lid inside a closet area, so as to not impede a "middle of the room" layout. It wouldn't be easy to decorate a room, or situate a bed over the lid. Love ya'll ❤
Sorry for replying to an old comment. But some history behind why storm shelters used to be built away from the house. Main reason is because for the most part people were only inside during meals and to sleep. Rest of the time you were outside working the land or doing chores. Another reason was so that the entrance didn't get blocked off. Storm debris is usually concentrated right around the main building/house. After a time, locating a shelter away from the house wasn't needed but people still did it cause that's how it had always been done.
@@kennethloki7011 More and more today, safe rooms or storm shelters are located within the house. Gathering belongings and making a mad dash to the safety of something situated away from the house just doesn't make sense. Getting hit by flying debris otw is a great argument for building it within the building.
@russellwatters5891 yeah definitely a bad idea now a days to have the entrance so far away. But back then it made sense. Back when I lived up north where having a basement was normal, I kept my safe down there with all my important stuff already stashed away. That way even if I wasn't home when a storm hit everything would already be safe.
Multipurpose, storm shelter, jacuzzi, you can watch fishing competitions and pretend you're in your yacht etc... you may never need it, but you can always use it.
Glad to see you back whoo hoo a Barnadian cool udeal on shelter awesome i cant wait to see it all done the shelter is awesome you need another one that no one knows about to store your food out of the garden in or hideout from bad people lol
Nice! Grab you a couple battery operated fans to add to a essential bag for in the shelter. They will sure help pull air in. Looking forward to more videos
