Tornadoes, Tuna and a Toto Basket // Camping At Crooked River State Park

We’re off to Crooked River on Tuesday, so we thought we’d watch your video to give us some idea of what to expect. Glad to see gravel sites because it looks like we’re getting rain for most of Tuesday. Larry loves brussel sprouts and I hate them, so we had a good conversation about yours. Haha. We really like Fort McAllister and Crooked River. You do need to get over to Cumberland Island on one of your trips down - we stopped there several times on our boat and it is special. Safe travels. We were watching the weather that day too!! My phone seems to get the tornado warnings so as usual I left it on beside me while I slept. The Crooked River State Park was hit by a hurricane a couple years ago. It took them around a year to get it open again. Looks like they did a fantastic job. You guys seem to find the best campsites!!

Thanks for the tip about the Basil basket! I think it might work for us with our bordoodle and the TravatoK. We have put off buying one of the tow carriers as we couldn't figure out where to store it while underway. You might like the Sherpa Crash Tested Seatbelt Safety Harness, Black, Medium that was suggested to us last year when we knew we would be doing a long driving trip. The seat belt fits through a sturdy handle at the bag and he sits on the drivers side bed on a seat cover, happy as a clam and we don't worry. We liked it so much we got one for the car as well. It's not great for a walking harness though, it loosens off on the walk. Or at least we haven't been able to keep it tight. Would be great for the basket though.

Maggie goes look a little bit like Toto! My sister named their dog that’s really small that name. Maggie looked cute in that basket. That tuna looked really good! Where’s mine Owen. Lol! Glad you guys didn't get hit with a tornado! We had the same experience a few years ago in GA and it is a scary experience, especially in a trailer. Listened to local radio station and each phone had a different weather app on it. Kept my shoes on just in case we had to book it to the bathroom.

Maggie is so trusting of her people or she would have an issue sitting in her basket, what a good girl. It’s so hard to leave your little ones behind for a bike ride or to go somewhere they are not allowed. I get a little crazy when someone says “Oh, she’s just a dog and they limit what you can do on vacation.” No, I plan my days in ways I can enjoy my bestie to either be with me or keep her comfortable in my absence. She has been my lifesaver since my husband passed on and she knows every little move I make and anticipates what’s happening. Crooked River Park is pretty cool. Traveling with the possibilities of severe weather can be nerve racking, 18:51 18:51 and have been in that situation more than once, been lucky to have just missed all the bad stuff. I think that is the one thing that heightens my awareness more than anything else. Enjoying your journey while having my first coffee on Sunday mornings, I really look forward to seeing how you three are enjoying life. 🙋🏼‍♀️❤️👍🇺🇸🐕

Such a nice campsite; beautiful river & weather is always subject to change no matter where you go. Maggie looked like she really enjoyed the Toto basket. It’s nice that she can be on the bike and enjoy rides with you more now. Those shrimp looked absolutely scrumptious! Haven’t had food yet today so I’m thinking the Key West shrimp in my freezer are going to be coming out today and visit my plate (short-term lol). Hope you all are well.
