This video: Toro 38361 Power Shovel 7.5 Amp Electric Snow Thrower Review. LINK TO Toro Power Shovel: amzn.to/1HM1mH4
Hi Guys, today I’m out in the freezing cold reviewing the Toro Power Shovel 7.5 Amp Electric Snow Thrower. It can remove snow up to 6 inches deep in one pass. The clearing width is 12 inches. It is lightweight at 13 pounds.
In the Northeast, we just had a blizzard. Fortunately, I only got a few inches of snow. I’m on my back patio and this is 6 inches of crusty snow from last week with some powdery snow on top. The blade is plastic and seems durable. It ran over ice and kept going.
If you have 12 inches of snow, you can go at it two times shoveling about 6 inches at a time.
I find that the Toro does best on more compacted snow than fresh powdery snow only because of the fresh snow blowing all around you. The shovel goes almost all the way to the ground to clear snow. You don’t have to bend to use it which is great for everyone’s back.
The Toro Power Shovel has very few negatives and mostly positives. The negatives are that it throws powdery fresh snow everywhere so you might end up wearing some of it. You also have to hold down the button and trigger to keep the machine running. If you are removing a lot of snow, this will get uncomfortable.
The positives are many. I like that there is no gas and oil to buy and fill. This saves me a trip to the gas station and extra maintenance on the blower. It is smaller than my manual shovel and takes up less space in my garage. It’s inexpensive for the power and efficiency. It’s light enough to carry and maneuver with one hand even for a petite female like me. The noise level is fine, it doesn’t hurt my sensitive ears.

You do not have to hold the button down. The button unlocks the handle. Once the handle is pressed and the shovel is running the button can be released.

I spent half my life in CO and am now back in PA. In CO you can use a leaf blower because the snow is so light & fluffy (assuming it sticks around long to need to be cleared :) ). Here on the East Coast it's a different story. What she is clearing in the video is what we see here; a leaf blower won't touch it. It's also really heavy and a major physical strain to clear, so any powered device is a big help, and probably also saves lives.

Looks great! I've had it with gas snow blowers. I filled my snow blower with gas today and there was a leak in the carburetor, gas leaked everywhere, and all over my tools when I tried to fix it. Everyone on my street could hear me cursing lol. Way easier to just use an electric snow blower. You almost have to be an auto mechanic to fix your snow blower when something goes wrong. I'm going electric....

@@Spartan168 I wanted to get a motorcycle but had never actually rode on one so my friend offered to take me for a ride. I grabbed my brother's helmet, but not any other gear cause I figured it was just going to be a quick outing 20min into the ride, we had just left a redlight when I noticed his friend had stalled, so I told my friend to slow down and we did, and thank lawd we did, because some guy decided to run a stop sign, try to beat 3 lanes of traffic to get across to the other side. My friend told me to hold on as he was going to lay the bike down, I panicked and put my hands out to brace myself and squeezed my legs holding onto the bike, so the bike crushed my right pelvis/leg and then hit the car. I body planted the car, so broke all of my ribs, my upper, middle and lower back, collapsed my right lung, and lacerated my left lung. Adrenaline is a magical thing though and I was awake for all of it, spoke to the EMTs, gave them all my info and who to call etc, so when they called my mom to come they said "no rush, she's alert and talking, we think just a broken leg, and some ribs and a collapsed lung". Well, they got to the ER, I spoke to them for maybe 5min before they came in and grabbed the stretcher and yelled for 8 bags of blood and started to list all my injuries. Ended up on life support for 2weeks, in a body cast, and it took them 3 days to stop my bleeding. Lost my entire spleen, half my large intestine, a third of my small, a third of my pancreas and a 3rd of my liver. Fun times LOL. Guess the universe did NOT want me getting a motorcycle.

Its sooo much easier with a regular $7 plastic shovel folks....BUT u have to do it the right way. Take breaks and drink H2O (or Whiskey). Been shoveling every winter for the last 10 yrs. You get a good work out. My wife bought me an electric one...returned it...too slow (like in the video) and it took a different set of muscles to use. My 90 something yr old neighbor amazing lady down my street hand shovels her side walk and driveway every year.!!! ...the gas snow blower ...hate breathing those fumes.! Or I'm just a sucka for punishment anyways...Happy safe shoveling folks ! 😁🏂

Really. I can see this being almost as much mechanical physical effort as using a shovel, with one half the clearing width of a $25 shovel, plus all the bloody noise. For people who think "there *must* be something I can *buy* " for every trivial problem.

@MrLucifuge1973
@MrLucifuge1973 5 лет назад
The plug on the machine can't be female. Then you would need a cord with males at both ends (We call it a cheater cord we use to link non charged receptacles to a live breaker) The outlet is female. How can the TORO be female as well. Standard extension cords would not work. Of course i could be wrong but something doesn't make sense Johnny.
