Cheers Paul, I was very lucky on 3 fronts firstly thanks to Arrowfield for letting me film there and secondly thanks to Toro for allowing me to try their new toy and to Scone Outdoors for getting hold of the mower. Glad you enjoyed the vid 🤟
Thanks Brendan, Yeah I love the idea of being able to film at lots of different locations. Arrowfield is like a postcard even this time of year its remarkable.
@@theaussielawn Thanks Brenton for that. Its harder than what it looks to talk infront of a camera. Making entertaining vids is a whole other story haha. Slowly but surely. Got some super exciting news coming on the channel soon as well.
Interesting ... the Prostrip 560 looks a lot like a mower from the UK company Hayter. Hayter aren't available here, so I imported a battery powered version that looks very similar but is a bit smaller than the Prostrip 560 and it uses Toro 60V batteries.
I would love one of these for the fall to pick up all the leaves. I use my Honda rotary before I reel mow but I hate how it leaves tire marks. If only they were more common in the states then I'd try and pick one up.
Hey mate, Yeah it was a really impressive mower and has great vacuuming ability, Maybe just keep an eye open on all of your usual for sale web pages you never know what might turn up. Thats actually how I found my greens master 1000. Right place at the right time sorta stuff...
First Ben and now you. Then I wander out to the shed and see the Hayter looking all forlorn. I think you blokes are trying to tell me something, I better get cracking 😉 Seems a good option for striping high cut turf, without the maintenance cost of cylinder and bed knife grinding. I wondered how defined the striping would be, looks good.
Hi Phil Ohh you have a Hayter? I have a feeling this things roots come from Hayter but not 💯 on that! I think its a really good option as you say for low maintenance stripes. It feels like it will last for years and years. I was very lucky to be able to try it esp out at Arrowfield stud
@@theaussielawn yes, Toro now own Hayter and the Prostripe is based off the Hayter Pro. The domestic Hayter line now have the choice of the same 60v drive system as the Toro Recycler you recently tested. Mine is an ‘87 Harrier 48, single speed drive. Doesn’t have a split roller, has a threaded rod for the height adjuster so is infinitely variable between 13-57mm hoc but will give you RSI turning the adjuster. Should be fun to use, once I get it cleaned up.
Thanks mate its a magic spot I was so fortunate to be able to film there, Sounds like you have had some bad experiences with Toro, perhaps Ben from Scone Outdoors could help? Might be worth a try?
Awesome mower and vid. Does the rye blend well with Kikuyu? Thinking of overseeding next year but worried it will make the lawn look patchy esp in summer when the rye starts to struggle
Thanks mate 😎 Yeah kikuyu and rye go pretty well together esp when the kikuyu is left a little longer (the rye and kikuyu blend is pretty common around the horse industries, most race tracks also have the kik and rye blend.
Yeah they are expensive for the home owners, But not much more than a new cylinder mower so if you had a lawn that striped up well and wanted low maintenance mowing it would be hard to beat.
What’s the go with Toro and Honda only giving 2 year warranty on their mowers ? I’d consider them a more premium mower then Victa etc but they offer 5-7 year warranty. Kinda puts me off buying their stuff for my lawn
Oh really? I didn’t realise victa is now 7yrs, that being said I know what I’d still rather own long term and apart from my little victa scalping mower it’s not a victa well maybe one their “professional alloy deck mowers “ but not the domestic stuff , but that’s only a personal opinion
@@theaussielawn I’m gonna go either a Toro or a Honda, but really only because of the 21-22 inch deck. Aussie companies seem to only do 19 inch decks for domestic mowers. The warranty is also 3 years for the same product in the states 🤷🏼♂️
Gday James the grass type is a warm season grass called Kikuyu (Pennisetum clandestinum) in this instance it has also been oversown with perennial rye grass for the winter months
Yeah thats right mate I have Austrian connections within my family and you're right nothing beats a good schnitzel, But this horses name was actually Snitzel 😎
@@theaussielawn that’s correct. Hayter have been making roller mowers since just after the war. Toro took over around 2005. This prostripe is a Hayter 56 (56cm cut) with added features for sports clubs.
