Hi I have the same exact mower I paid $500 plus tax I bought it in the spring of 2014 and used it that year then moved to Arkansas from Illinois and everything's rocks where I lived. I finally moved to a different lot and used it for 3 years and now this year my belt broke but I'm happy I seen your video because I do have the surging problem, but only while idling it runs smooth under a load. I really love this lawnmower I had my eyes on one for a couple of years.

I had a similar issue with one of mine... spring that tells the mower it's under load, was worn out...was idling up & down instead of constant speed....ordered a new spring (had to call the manufacturer for the right one) $2 at NAPA and it was fixed :)

Man I should get my own channel... I've already been through all this... there's also the kill switch that is the lever you pull on when mowing... and when that cable goes bad it will run crappy... the freaking thing won't run unless that lever that the cables onto is pulled together all the way 100 percent or it will kill itself... plus there is the automatic choke that goes bad,, the thermostat in it it will make it run rich and lean real quick.... and by the way that bolt you're taking out to the fuel bowl... that peice will corrode out inside that the bolt screws into and it will ruin that carburetor just from it sitting and getting moisture in the fuel bowl..... I always put about 10% of 2-stroke mix in with my fuel on my last cut

Thanks for posting this. My 2 yr old Toro Timemaster is surging only after the cutting is done when it goes into idle. It has a separate blade clutch. I suppose the warmed up carb is behaving a little differently than when I cold start it and it' idles fine. Since it occurs only at the end of my cut and not while cutting, I suspect my crud is minimal and is impacting the carb flow only in the unloaded engine condition. I might try some Sea Foam first. Then I'll dig in like you did if that doesn't work.

Helpful video….bummer mines got the same problem with surging, but my carburetor is a different set up. Maybe I just need to clean a little more.

Ok so I had the same problem with my toro sr4 super recycler. Basically any lawnmower with the surging problem. Take the carb off and unscrew the bowl. In that same hole is the jet. Unscrew the main jet with a flat head screw driver. Next the pilot jet should pop out. I usually unplug the main jet with a paper clip. Spray the shit out of the pilot jet and the main jet with carb cleaner.

Do you know how to recoil the starting coil on this exact model of Toro? I went to repalce my pull cord, removed the starter coils housing and the coil sprung. I cant figure out how to recoil it to fit back in.

Last time I replaced my starter cord I just left that plastic cowling thing off. Seems like it serves no purpose other than to trap crap
