I just bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. Quite frankly, I'm glad that they put the resources into making a really beefy mower as opposed to suspension. I have unimproved rural land...so it's not exactly smooth, and I find this mower to be VERY comfortable, as the seat is nice and thick and contoured to give plenty of support and cushioning. I mowed c. 15 acres with it last week....can't wait till next season so I can mow more! And this, from me, who used to own a diesel Grasshopper!
I love toros. Ive had 2 now in the past 7 years on my 3 acre farm property. Ive had 2 timecutter myrides in 50 and 54 inch and felt like i needed more transmission power. Went to buy a titan max in a 60 inch deck and there was no suspension seat. Looked at the sleek titan max havoc too and even that model had zero suspension seat. At least put a torsion spring seat on it. No sale for me. Spent 9k on a Scag patriot with bigger hydros (3400) and a suspension seat with a kawasaki motor. Really happy with it. I wanted a Toro 1st tho but had to have a plush ride after back surgery. Loved my previous toros tho, just needed that seat i was looking for. Love your videos. Its cool you always post things for us to stay updated on what toro is doing and explaining your truthful opinions
We have been running Toro equipment since 1985 sure we will pay more at times but the dealer support and parts availability and customer service makes the extra cost worth the ROI.
Question, you had commented on upgrading the seat to a suspension style seat. Do you have any information on what seat you can upgraded to and what it would cost to do so?
Also, Is Toro making a 2024 version of the Titan max? I saw a few videos of the 2023 equip expo and they showed the new Titan design. I didn’t see anything about a Titan Max.
I just bought a Titan Max 6 weeks ago and I absolutely love it! I have around 3 1/2 acres and it’s a beast. It’s definitely a big step up from my kubota Z125E with a 54” deck. The Kubota is now semi- retired and resting in the barn ready to be a back up.
@@josephsemet449 I’ve never really timed it probably because I have a bad back and can only mow for 20-25 minutes at a time. This mower is really fast though and the extra 6 inches of cutting width over my Kubota is insane how much difference that makes. I’ve had it for around 10 months now and I absolutely love it!
Great video. I do have several questions I hope you or some of your readers would be willing to help me with. 1) How does the Titan Max compare to the Titan HD. I know the HD is classified as a commercial grade machine and has the Turbo-Force deck that is 5.5 inches deep. How deep is the deck on the Max, and will not having the highly touted Turbo deck be material. Is the extra money to get the HD worth it? 2) On the trim side of the Titan Max's deck, how many inches does the deck offset from the rear tire? My current Timecutter MX5050 only offsets maybe 1-1/2 in. making trimming around mulch beds very challenging. I appreciate any information and insight you can offer. Thanks!
The Titan Max is a nice machine, it just needs more than 26 HP to be knocking on the front door of a commercial mower. When one does the math, my 50" Toro MX5050 with 24HP has more power per area than the 60" Max at 26HP. While the Titan's 26 HP would be suitable for most situations, it would be pushing it in taller grass that is damp. Many commercial mowers are going out the door with more than 30 HP (they also have a commercial price at more than twice the price of a Toro Titan Max.
If anyone here is just starting up with landscaping, yes this mower will get you by but i dont recommend it. I bought it thinking it would be nice and fast but its the complete opposite. I have to go super slow, and sometimes go over grass twice. Im about to upgrade to a commercial mower for double the price.
