Lol the random security checks are embarrassing. 😳 This will happen if you don't make eye contact, wear baggy pants (even if your a 5'3 female) if you're shy, or if you're dressed differently than everyone else. Be prepared 😅
@@leonardsheatravel A lot of Terminal 3 people may be from all inclusive holidays down South. All of my vacations were through Terminal 3. It depends on the flights. I was only questioned once when I went to Mexico and stayed at a beach hotel in Puerto Morellos and not at a resort. They asked me if I stayed with family, etc. I surely don't look like Mexican, so I was surprised.
I landed in Toronto last week. And even though it’s my first time with all the complains I heard, my experience was smooth. I already met my luggage ready for collection and took it immediately I got there. So I would say Toronto Pearson airport is good and improved
It’s my first time traveling alone and this video helped so much. Seems like an easy enough process I’m surprised you hardly interacted with anyone. Thanks so much for the video!
@@islandgirl3330 I think you can use the machines unless there are certain visa requirements. I would be interested to see if you can. Please let me know what happens for all of us.
@@leonardsheatravel I think you should call both the Canadian and American Immigration departments or embassies. They should be able to help you. At least they will connect you to the correct departments. I am a Canadian citizen so I can cross rhe border without any problems. Only Canadians who have a criminal record might be questioned. When I was a permanent resident, I did not need a visa to go to the U.S. I am sure it is still the same. Please check with the above departments.
Wow! That looked very seamless and can't believe it didn't take long for luggage retrieval and customs! If it could only be that easy all the time! LOL
I’m scheduled to land at noon on a Saturday in May at Toronto Pearson, I’m flying in with Delta from Minneapolis St. Paul I’m not hopeful the lines are going to be that short for me through immigration. But thanks for the perspective on where I have to walk through at terminal three there at YYZ I’m taking the up train, from the airport into Union Station. Luckily my hotel is right next to Union Station. it’s perfect timing as well, the weekend I arrive in Toronto my local Hometown, MLB team will be in Toronto to play the Blue Jays. The Minnesota Twins versus the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre! Should be a good time
I must be a RU-vid freak. I didn't realize that I wrote comments here before. It seems like RU-vid became one of my companions since Covid. 😅😅😅 Thanks again for your great video.
Thank you so much for this video, I thought I missed something as I could not find any officer asking me questions like what is the purpose of my visit etc etc, my immigration process was exactly like what was shown in the video. Thanks
Hi would I need to go through meeting an immigration officer if I'm not an American or Canadian citizen ???or do I also use the e gate and enter all my information on the machine ??
The video was exactly as it is. I saw when he directed the couple who was in front of you, to the right. They were sent to immigration for questions. They looked a bit puzzled.
Hello) I’ll be visiting from the USA in March and was wondering if having TSA precheck and global entry would help, during peak times of the day? Thank You 😊
TSA Precheck works only at security US gates (T1 F Gates and T3 A Gates). You cannot use TSA precheck at US Customs (only Global Entry and Nexus). When you're travelling to T1 (D and E gates) and T3 (BC gates) you cannot use TSA precheck or Global entry b/c those are specifically US programs, but you are able to use Nexus at the security gates to by pass lines (T1 D and E and T3 BC are domestic and international gates) In other words, Global Entry and TSA pre are only good when you are going bcak home.
I'm from the UK and have used it on my last 2 visits, just set it all up on my ArriveCan app 72 hours before arrival, no probs at all :) @@leonardsheatravel
Just came back from Europe through T3. Very quick. However did our Arrive Can App( brilliant app though cost us millions!!) and still had to line up with 3 other afternoon flights after the arrival kisoks for passports (after escalator). Minor line up. Thought there was a Canadian advantage using our own countries software..? Pearson airport is fine. Comments?
Hello! I think that is the best place for you to wait for her. Hope she has a great visit! Good luck! But always have a cell phone to communicate just in case!
How long did it took you to go through immigration and customs? I'll have a connection in TOR of 1h40m, the plane will arrive 5:30AM, do you think 1h40m of connection will be OK??
Just another quick question: what proof can I show to authorities outside airport that I have successfully completed the immigration? PS: you video was super helpful
They did have a big problem when COVID was rampant and there was a lot of red tape and checking for COVID. Plus suitcases were not being delivered to the correct airports. They must have gotten rid of all those baggage handlers who could not read.
Hi, Leonard, thank for your important information. On 15 march i will go to Toronto, for PR in first time. Is there any added step for PR proccess in Imigration, or same proccess, that you show in video?
You are allowed so much alcohol. If you go over it you need to declare...if you are under the amount you don't have to declare. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching!
I will fly with KLM into Pearson at around 1 PM , middle of the week, out of summer season...hope I will not have to wait very long...thanks for video! Btw, why there are self service customs kiosks at wo locations? At 2:57 and in 6:35.
What happened to the part where you get spoken to by border and immigration about why you’re there and how long you staying and how long they’ll allow you to stay that’s what I was told I didn’t say any of that
@@leonardsheatravelIl est quand-même important de préciser aux uns et aux autres que vous êtes citoyens canadien. C'est pour cette raison qu'ils ne vous on pas posé la moindre question.
Sir am travelking for the very first time.in my life on a flight...utgent query pls do answer...wr do i collect my baggage as have 2 connecting flights how ill loacte that ?? N immigration pricess takes hiw long per person??? Pls do ans as am flying in 2 weeks time
Good luck on your adventure. First question… where do I get my baggage? Answer…. After you go through customs and immigration you will follow the signs to baggage….. when you come into the baggage carousel area you will see a tv that will tell you which baggage carousel to go to corresponding to your last flight departure point. Go to that number carousel and wait for your baggage ….. it was shown in this video. Second question…..How long does immigration take?….. if your papers are in order you can go to the egates and it took us 5 minutes or you can wait in line and go to a customs/immigration teller that will ask you questions and stamp your passport. Just follow this video and things should be good. Good luck!
So anyone who’s done e-gate doesn’t have to be questioned by an officer in person? I’m having a 4 day trip with my mom from the U.S to Toronto, she doesn’t speak English, can I help her with the questions if custom officer asks? And will I have to scanned carry-ons again after arriving at Toronto airport? I have a U.S passport and my mom has U.S green card.
Sorry to read about your husband's passing but all you should do is ask any uniformed personnel for help, and it'll be just like before, Wish you well and God speed.
Excuse me, when you passed customs, did they ask anything if you have something to declare? What if you don't have anything to declare? I'm speaking on behalf of a friend who's coming internationally.
I am Canadian.....good point it will probably be different depending on where you are from. Good Luck. Let me know how it goes. Thank you for watching!

I don't think you have to go through customs if you have a connecting flight unless you are leaving the airport. Most people just get off one flight and then stay in the airport and wait for their next flight and their luggage goes from the first place you started to your destination. Good Luck. Let me know what happens. Thank you for watching!
@@leonardsheatravelif your connecting flight was to another Canadian city you would clear customs then recheck your bags and go through security again. Not sure how it works in Canada if you are connecting to a flight outside Canada, save for a US bound flight in which case you would go through preclear at some point.
@@richmartin1427 If at your departing airport they put you second Canadian city as the destination then I think your luggage would go right to the final destination in Canada and you would clear customs at your end destination meaning your second Canadian flight. If that is the case you would not have to clear customs or re check your luggage because it would go to the end destination where you would clear customs and collect luggage. You will know when you checkin at your original departing airport.
@@leonardsheatravel no that’s not true. The issue is there would be people who are just going from one Canadian city to another who would be on the same flight. So if the flight was going from let’s say Toronto to Regina, a person starting in Toronto would already be in Canada. There is no way to differentiate those passengers from those who connected from an international flight, so therefore those passengers clear customs in Toronto. It’s exactly the same as it works in the US.

For everyone asking about whether passports get stamped: please fulfill your eligibility time for permanent residence or citizenship. Also, the maker of the video is a Canadian, coming back home to Canada. Of course there is no stamp for him!!!
