I think vlad needs the camaraderie that he had with Teo and Lourdes. They watched his at bats, and laughed at him when he chased. Lourdes would mimic his horrible swings and all three of them would be laughing. When you are struggling it’s nice to know your friends are with you, and yeah, it’s ok to laugh and make fun of each other.

Hopefully the updates we get on Michelle are better than the updates we get on Votto. The minute she is hitting of a tee, I want to know.

If you want to see real interference during an infield fly, look up the 2012 video of Carlos Lee having to shove Andre Ethier out of the way near first base. That's an obvious call. What happened with the White Sox looked borderline, but the runner did cause the fielder to deviate from their running route. I wonder if this will encourage other fielders to try to bump into runners when fielding infield flies in the future.

Okay guys...let the hate flow...i can take it lol. 1) They are supposed to be beating these teams...so lets just relax and see...Cautious Optimism is where im living. But beating Chi Det ? Cmon lol. 2) The Jacket sigh.....Ya im not into it. I saw a tweet and it said if Vladdy really needs a jacket to hit then this City has way bigger problems. Seeing Bo where it and smile was cool but honestly i dc...Im just happy to see Bo start putting it together. 3) Is it bad that the reason im happy Bo and Vlad have started hitting is because of the increase in trade value and not that we are gonna make the playoffs? lol Sorry to hear about Adam. Hope it works out. Great episode as always.

There's no sense in rehashing last season with regard to Lourdes and Teo. They would've helped last year, but they're gone and their old contracts the Blue Jays front office traded away expired at the end of 2023.

The jays don’t play as a team. They sit alone for the most part with their iPads likely watching themselves. The guy at the plate is alone because no one is watching or rooting for him. I suggest you watch a Davis Cup tennis match and see how teammates care about the guy on the court.

The majority of calls by an ump that changes the course or outcome of a game happen at the plate so it was bizarre to see this one. Talking about the impact of umpiring...my brother pointed me to an article regarding the status of automatic strike calling coming to the MLB and sounds like technical difficulties will stall it at least a year or more. I didn't think it was that close - I like the challenge system they use in some of the minor leagues. What was most interesting to me though, was the conversation that has yet to really happen in what an automatic strike zone would do to catchers like Kirk whose strength is framing the zone for human eyeballs - the [real] "art of the steal" as it were (fu djt). Maybe it would be a good thing for catchers to be better at calling pitches and throwing out runners than framing the zone to convince the ump it was a strike?

The off the cuff broadcast in Detroit last night was better than appletv games. Get rid of iPads for good and watch the game live from the dugout please.

Where do you draw the line with the "don't wear the jacket when you're down big" mentality? Down 5+? 8+? What if it's someone's first MLB home run but the team is losing? Or even someone who doesn't play a lot like Clement or Vogey? Should they not get to celebrate? If the team has the jacket they should be allowed to celebrate their little silver lining if they're losing big in the 9th...take the momentum to the next day!
@MeeshBeer
@MeeshBeer Месяц назад
it's not the "we're in the lead" jacket. It's the Home Run jacket. Home run hit - bring on the jacket. The score is irrelevant. IMHO... YMMV

two things: one: Scott, I will be hitching a ride with you and Taylor to Buffalo next time. two: I would LOVE to watch a game with you Joel. Come in for TIFF, and I'll make sure I have a ticket for you for a game that week.

Something is wrong with Georges health, he's washed. Can't do it anymore
@choocharoo
@choocharoo Месяц назад
I think they should 100% give him the Manoah routine..give him a month or so to go figure it out....Bring up Lukes or Orlevis...If we can solve George and get him usable for the last 1/3 of the season that is MASSIVE. I know he makes alot of money...but im praying he agrees to it.
@braydenjames8957
@braydenjames8957 Месяц назад
@@choocharooyou're much more optimistic than I am. Personally I would rather see him be sent elsewhere. The return doesn't matter. We've suffered enough to keep George happy. We sent Lourdes away, Moreno away and teoscar away to get George out of cf and do whatever was possible to keep him healthy and to succeed. How much is enough?
@choocharoo
@choocharoo Месяц назад
@@braydenjames8957 If i though Rogers would do that...I would have said that too...but this ownership is not just dumping him and i dont see them eating 12-15M a year to coax a team to take him. Just not a Rogers move. Sadly.

His health seems fine. He's older and older players decline. He's still playing good defense and stealing some bases. He just isn't as valuable as he used to be and should play less. Maybe with more rest he might even play better.
