Toronto is an awesome city to visit AND It will certainly dispel your notion of ALL of Canada is nothing but a wasteland of snow and that all Canadians live amongst the polar bears. Actually, Toronto has very hot summers that rival Chicago and New York, no problem. Toronto is a beautiful, innovative, very multicultural city - Toronto overtook Chicago the past year I believe and is the 4th largest city in North America. And this is VERY true: Toronto (more accurately, Canada) has not only the most stable banking system on the planet but is also a great city to visit and wander through so many neighbourhoods and Districts, it makes your mind spin. I would have to throw in all of this and that is, in keeping with the spirit of comparison between these 4-5 largest cities, Toronto is by far the cleanest and most safe, with statistics to back it up. A visit to Toronto is so worth it, whether nightlife is your thing or on the flip side, museums and art galleries, Toronto to me, seems to be a city that works so well.
bluebull2006 I'm assuming by "degrees" you mean degrees Fahrenheit. Degree is the unit and Fahrenheit or Celsius are the scale used to measure temperature.
@halfvolley11 Wrong, it has to be continuous built up area. The Mumbai Urban Area has 21.3 million people. Please check Demographia for the complete list numbers: demographia. com/db-worldua.pdf
@MrCheesypuf but it is under toronto municipalty authority. rob ford is in charge of it and you see Toronto Police there, not Peel police. So it is Toronto International Pearson Airport.
im telling you chris, ive been to all those places you've named. none of them amazed me more than Toronto. Id say keep doing your research, but as someone who has done my own(hence why im watching the vid) I can assure you that Toronto(or Vancouver:p) is the place to be. I plan on going to Vancouver for school but im taking my business to Tdot!
@AssassinMugger It says Educational opportunities. Have you looked up on how many Colleges and University's are in Toronto. On top of that all the fast track schools. Everyone from the surrounding area comes to Toronto to go to school, the same as Vancouver and other major city's.
Toronto is a big city, third largest metropolitan area in North America worth visiting. Check out Yonge Street that divides the city in half from south to north running through the downtown core and Dundas Square. Check out this video on Yonge Street that shows how vibrant the city is Driving on Yonge Street from Downtown Toronto to North York at Steeles Avenue Canada
Canada is great! If you want the big city life, live in Toronto, but if you want a pool and a huge yard, live somewhere like Waterloo. I grew up there and anyone who is middle class can live in a three-bedroom home with a beautiful lot. At the same time, I prefer living in the dense city so I live in Toronto now. Clean, safe, beautiful city. I am living in London UK for a few months though and London is nice too :)
That said, I tell you it's a very beautiful city with many bright sides and positives to those who managed to settle down and integrate themselves in the system. Most Canadians are nice, it is a great place to raise your kids, safe, and if you are one of those who appreciate the social life, then Canada is the right place for you.
I'm glad I live here. I just wish Rob Ford could do something of the god damn bumpy roads here. It's always a pain to drive around here but I do enjoy flying around in the city whenever I get the chance!
@Scoinsoffaterocks whatever between hamilton and toronto, its all rural places like burlington.. if u include those places, then there is people everywhere in india, except the jungles and himalayas and certain rare places.
I've been to many world class cities around the world and Toronto is my favourite! I'm a little biased as I'm from Toronto but it's such a great, unique city.
I don't understand why people are getting all mad at Toronto. My father told me something when I was young and he told it again to me recently "everyone in Canada hates Toronto, until they come here." Now, I can almost guarantee that he's right and this video proves it. People in Toronto are considerate and welcoming and are willing to give a helping hand to a stranger, it's very rare you will come across someone who will ruin your day.
@abar1204 I am not from here. But, this city gave me a job, an education I could not get at home; an education into diversity; embrace people from all over. It was intimidating at first. I am glad I came here. Every large city in Canada is different than the other. Uniqueness to suit ones' desires; good for some here in Toronto; good for some who migrate to Montreal; good for some who migrate to Vancouver. There are many great cities here in Canada.
Funny that they mentioned that Toronto contributes to the total GDP of Canada more than NYC, Boston, chicago ,miami and san Francisco combined contribute to the USA total GDP but didn't mention just how small the economy of Canada is compared to the USA.
Yeah, I hear ya Kevinconners554. When I lived out there in Vangroovy; mortgage for a lovely place (and it was) was through the roof. Transit is good during daylight hours. Traffic when you live outside of Vancouver, is horrendous. To deny this is to adopt the la-la-la attitude. Don't get me wrong, Vancouver and its environs are beautiful: IF you have time to enjoy them. I heard it from the locals about the amenities; they too had ONCE enjoyed, came at a price. Stress exists there.
Toronto is amazing... I only ask why Seattle because i have never been there. Toronto is around the same size as Chicago, But much more friendly. I'm assuming Seattle is a friendly type of city compared to others like Chicago, new york and others. I live on the east coast of Canada and go to Toronto at least twice a year for UFC. You'll have to go sometime.
@Splashguytube I spent time in western Canada. I loved every kilometre of it, from the Ontario-Manitoba border to the Pacific coast of British Columbia. It's ALL wonderful!
@Scoinsoffaterocks dude hamilton is very far,,, i can say mumbai-delhi area is the largest in world, coz that will included probably 80 million indians.
Toronto is actually the 3rd largest city in North America now. Toronto just became larger than Chicago. Toronto also has the 2nd most amount of skyscrapers (just behind New York).
T-Dot is where it's at ! My band and I just got out of the studio and we made a song called "Ontario Flow" Check it out, it's in my channel but ONLY watch it, if you are an Ontarian ;)
Toronto I would describe if Seattle and Chicago had a baby and that baby grew up and lived in New York for several years, and then moved and settled into a quiet life in Canada.
There is so much to do in Toronto, Vancouver is a place to go for retirement but to live life and experience life to it's fullest Toronto is the place to go. Fyi Toronto provides pretty much everything you've described above except for the sea part. Downside of Vancouver, too much cloudy and rainy weather all year long, you don't experience much snow, something a big part of "Canadian culture" and there is an issue with drugs and gangs which many people don't know much about.
It i funny, I am a Canadian who lived in Germany and I LOVED it. But I lived in Berlin. Berlin is one of my favourite cities. But I also love Toronto and Canada. :)
Toronto is a great city for a night out, great bars/pubs, nightclubs, great restaurants and classic hole in the wall places with great food but I personally could never live in the city, I much prefer the open spaces and countryside which conveniently enough can be found just 30-45 minutes drive north.
I use to live just north of downtown at St Clair and Oakwood up to 3 years ago, was a resident there for almost 30 years. But after starting a family, I needed more space that won't break the bank so Scarborough became my home. I miss it sometimes but I have a hard time remembering what it's like to pay for a parking permit or for a spot on my outings.
It's weird you never think of it being so special when you live there btw I recommend if you move here, don't live near the CN tower, sky dome and fort York Rey are building these giant ass condominiums that block all the view
Alright , I use to many capitals for emphasis because RU-vid.com does not permit "coloured text like Yahoo.com does" so I will use quotation marks for now on to emphasize my comments where capitals are not necessary. You can see by this comment that I am "self-correcting" and do know my English.
And use dogsleds, skates and skidoos to get around... Well, actually, the skate parts are true, when I was in Ottawa for the week in the winter, I back and forth to places by skating the Rideau canal...
Well is just how i would imagan it to be, it seems to have that clean liberal feeling that Seattle has and from the pictures it seems to have similar skyline, including that CN tower which to me looks like a cross between the Seattle Space Needle and the Chicago Sears Tower. Also like Seattle it seems to have a large asian communities. This was just what i thought when i saw this video. I would like to know how you would describe Toronto, i would like to go there some day.
I am Indian Canadian, and I think Canada is the best country for any immigrant. It has fulfilled my families hopes , it offers one of the best living standard with least discrimination I can think of. I have heard many complaints about UK France and Australia, trust me , Canada is the best country for immigrants. You cant even immigrate to US, they have visa issues.
Both are very different and unique and don't deserve a "which is better" comparison. The GTA is about 3 times bigger (population) than Vancouver and offers more of everything. Vancouver is a naturally beautiful place. Lots of Toronto haters in rest of Canada. Toronto means 'meeting place', meaning you can access different parts of Ontario easily, and Ontario is bigger than France and Texas (albeit colder).
Canada - Toronto per say is one of the cities that has a lot of attractive women from diverse background. Check out "Caribana" in Toronto, that's when all comes crawling out, hitting the parades and clubs! :P
Toronto is the best city ever. The only drawbacks are the lack of parking space anywhere in the core of the city and the 3 fet of snow in winter. That aside, - Toronto rules. I've lived all over North America - and Toronto is the best place to live. Truely.
According to the UN Toronto is the most culturally diverse city in the world with people from over 200 countries.Half the population of Toronto were not born in Canada. The average temperature in January (coldest month) is only a fraction of a degree below freezing, and it rarely snows more than 10cm. That's only a few inches to the under-educated.
