Great stuff. I’m a new fan. My mom lived over at McCaul in the Grange from when it was built until about ‘81. We walked along Queen to Bathurst and back a fair bit. People often look back fondly, but although I like the way we had many more Ma & Pa shops and real estate was cheap, it wasn’t all rosy for sure. And I recall the oldtimers in the 1980s telling me how much better it was in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s. Hardly anyone ever says it was good in the 70s. Haha.
Love Toronto and I dig your music. Sets the mood. Good job. I always ask myself if I could go back - would I ? Not sure , lol. Anyway , great video , thx.
Love this video. I myself was raised not too far from Queen and Bathurst. Claremont St. Pretty much street before Bellwoods trinity. Thanks for the video.
Amazing ! Love your channel Grew up in the neighbourhood in the 70’s /80’s. Remember the Woolworth’s, Roneen’s Bakery and KFC along that stretch of Street. There was a pool hall beside KFC at Queen and Augusta where I had a misspent youth. Bond’s Submarine, Landis Drug Store and Taste of China Restaurant right before Spadina. Great memories.
The Empire Office Furniture truck at 1:08: We lived over Empire store and the driver used to often drive that truck into the wall beneath our kitchen when the pubs closed at 2am
