Let's give Davion Mitchell some love for taking ownership for the flaws that he made instead of dodging the questions- that's a point guard who plays for the team right there 🔥🔥🔥
We look pretty good actually, seems like everyone is getting along, I dont mind that we lose if we come out and compete hard and have a shot to close it out against a good team without our starting PG. Good stuff raps let's keep it moving!
@@kevinkamba-comestay3706agree what hurts is they are leading all the way and its more than 5 in the last 2 minutes then they lost the game..that is the difference of having a star player like jokic in closinh game..he was so calm taking the shots and the nuugets were calm on there plays that is they overcome the lead..
People who have never coached or played clearly don’t understand the difference between calling a timeout and playing it out. If RJ makes the shot Darko looks great for letting them play. This comes with learning and also building trust in your players stoping one of your best downhill threats in the open court and allowing the defence to set up is silly
It was a terrible shot. When you have a young inexperienced team you call a timeout. So much could happen. You could get a back cut for an easy two...you could get an open three for the win...you could get a foul driving to the basket. To say that letting players who havent been in situations like this before is trust ended up with RJ taking a terrible shot. Im not sure why anyone with any decent basketball knowledge of time..score...game situation and shot selection would think that RJs shot was a good shot or Darkos decision not to call a timeout was a good decision.
It was the right call. Your opponent is caught off-guard and certainly doesn’t have enough time to prepare his defence as he would with a timeout. Shot didn’t land. Bad luck.
I really wouldn't mind either way- I personally feel that more people would prefer the safer route in calling a timeout and running an actual play than risking it for a last minute shot
Considering this team hasn't had a full game with a healthy roster yet, we're looking damn fine. The BBQ hasn't even been turned on yet. Future's bright.
Unfortunate scottie went out..as a young team these r the type of tests that a developing team has to go through. Unlucky tonight, but the fight is there and that's always great to see
Stop giving these teams too much respect. You're younger, faster, and have way more stamina-they’ve only got communication and planning on their side. You’re talented enough to beat any of them, even the Celtics. They came in expecting an easy win but quickly realized they’d have to grind to come back in the fourth. If it weren’t for a few minor mistakes, you would have blown them away. We saw what we saw, you guys were better than them.
yea we played well, but when it mattered most, the best player on the court stepped up and was playing out of his mind. Respect to this young Raptors team. but this is definitely a learning experience on how to stop players like jokic in the clutch.
@@WaleedAlviNo the @NBA refs step up & blew their whistle in favour of Denver & Darko pretty much a lame duck gifted his country man & Denver a desperate team its first win.
You know you could say Scottie 2 turnovers and ill advised shot that got him hurt is the real culprit. I know those ball handling duties with Goto IQ, but he is one of the main culprits for cleaning up turnover.. and he missed two of his own free throws.
@@madhavkhurana7434 Still "Davion" missed the FT. There's the difference between a good player and a great player. Hope "Davion" wake up and become a great player. Sacramento didn't think so. Maybe Darko will fix it. And I'm cool. Btw, let people be.
@ if u think Darko is a good coach ur on something his rotations are trash he plays barnes on ball like he’s not good on ball Darko can’t be a good coach
Watched the game! What happened is unacceptable! This was a game they needed to win, shud have won and deserved to win! Sorry, but one major reason is Scottie Barnes taking poor shots, him turning it over, and making poor decisions with the ball! This game shud never even have made it to overtime! Coach Darko needs to also take responsibility for this loss! He needs to get after the guys more to use up the clock more with the lead they had in the last two minutes! Fire Darko and trade Scottie Barnes cuz he is still making rookie mistakes! He shud be much more better by now than what he is! He is over-rated! Another losing season coming up for the raptors! Make the changes now before it is too late! Wanna make money?! Bet against the raptors winning games!
@@Justfrank_0 not that easy to do when there is only one Canadian team here in Canada! I want Canadian teams to beat American teams! Same with other sports! It is good to have some kind of national pride!
@@herbie4u2009u gotta let em develop, I mean we have 4 players injured rn and we missed out on Scottie in those crucial last minutes. Yeah we kinda got sloppy towards the end but that’s something we have to improve on. Lowkey if u watched the game, idk about you, but this is the most fun I’ve had watching the raps since the 2020 bubble season. A lot of bright spots on the roster, just gotta tighten up some spots. When this team plays together, they pretty fun to watch
Agree with a few things here. I don’t think Darko is an NBA head coach. Assistant coach no doubt. Lack of game management and usually 1 or no time outs to work with in crunch time on a consistent basis. The ball movement is good. But I again agree that the turnovers are wild. It’s like the guys are playing pickup. Game needed to be put away in regulation. Not a single field goal made in the last 2:30. Missed free throws to really rub the salt in.
Armchair experts talking about toughness. Scottie got elbowed in the eye by a 7ft, 290lb man. Scottie was dizzy & potentially concussed after that elbow from Jokic, was taken out for concussion protocols so not even in his hands. Scottie is extremely durable and has high pain tolerance. Scottie literally plays through injuries most players sit out games for. He literally since his rookie year played so many games with knee, foot, leg, finger, hand injuries. Embiid literally had flagrant foul catching Scottie in the face & then in same game landed on Scottie foot badly during Scottie playoff debut. Scottie was helped off in pain, was in a protective boot & most players call it a day. Scottie rushed back for game 4 when the team was 0-3 down & season basically over, Scottie came back helped prevent a sweep & helped beat 76ers on there home floor to force a game 6, which raptors which was a tie game till the 3rd quarter when players were tired. Scottie was on 1 leg and yet rushed back for the sake of his team. Scottie played so many heavy minutes, while hobbled, playing through injuries to his own detriment. Scottie played 55 minute game during his rookie season. If Scottie plays game whenever he is 100% or close to that he would have far better numbers, way more efficient. OG has far less pain tolerance and also does not rush back from injuries like Scottie does. I wouldn't accuse OG of being soft. OG protects himself and his career having had bad injury prior to the NBA. Players are more vulnerable to bad injuries when they play hurt or exhausted. Scottie plays while hurt and exhausted. Last season he broke his hand in a freak incident and so they shut him down for the season with the fact raptors had nothing to play for post trades & shift to a rebuilding team. Scottie is not one of those players who see it as just a job. If he did he would only play healthy, would only focus his energy on offense, would not get so annoyed when he makes a mistake or others miss the obvious pass or play. Scottie is an emotional player, most of the top tier players are.
Really, we shot 28% from 3, i suppose thats also Darko’s fault? Maybe its also Darko’s fault that Scottie sustained a concussion because he decided to play him and maybe it’s also his fault for not playing an injured Quickley? Gimme a break….
You couldn’t be more wrong… he’s the perfect development coach. This is the best team chemistry the raptors have had in 30 years because of Darko. I’m not talking about on court although that is rising rapidly. You should just watch another sport at this point. The only joke here is this casual ass take
